This story serves as a sequel to "Derailed Detour". Kara died giving birth to her son Icarus. Alex has been taking care of Icarus. The holidays especially Icarus' birthday are coming up really soon. Icarus is on a quest to know more about the mother that he never knew even if it means reopening old wounds. During his journey, he discovers he has a guardian angel who is Kara.

Time Period: A Flashback

Place: Icarus' bedroom

Kara (heavyhearted, she enters the room): Hello baby

Icarus (looking up from his computer): Hello mom

Kara (fighting back tears): Would you have a problem with visiting Cousin Clark and his family in Smallville?

Icarus (thrilled): No

Kara: Alex is going to take you to Smallville. You should start packing asap.

Icarus: Why aren't you coming with us?

Kara (lying): I must save the world

Icarus (starting to pack): I understand

(A few hours later Alex comes by the house and Icarus bids his mom farewell. Only Alex and Kara know that Icarus will stay permanently with Clark and his family).
