A/N: since I think that I was grasping at straws on Game of Life, I decided to document the supposed events that can support this pairing.
Chapter 8: Fear [part 6]
And the Thousand years Blood War took over the entire Soul Society, as troops of Quincy forces attacked from unknown places.
Many souls died at the first wave of the siege.
At the squad 6, Byakuya was fiercely engaged at fighting As Nodt, the Quincy who destroy his enemies by inspiring illogical fear on them.
As Renji, stood by, watching his captain as he was ordered to do, despite his fear for his life.
The person who he considered as his rival.
The one who took away, the most precious person to him.
The one who made him feel insignificant.
The one he aspired to defeat.
And yet, he does not really hates him.
No.
On the contrary, for he highly respected him among all people.
And watching him bleed, it pained him to see his Taicho getting owned by the enemy.

Fear?
I always acknowledge fear in every battle in order to achieve victory.
For fear is just…
Byakuya thought as an image of Rukia appeared in his mind.
As she turned around, to look at him…
A smile was on her beautiful face.
It caused his heart to beat erratically, as he felt warm inside.
And the image suddenly got replaced by Rukia's rotting corpse.
This caused him to freeze. Paralyzed. Defenseless.
And was fatally attacked by the stolen Senbonzakura, his own Bankai.
"Taicho!" Renji exclaimed as he attacked As Nodt, without thinking.

A lone Sakura petal, touched the side of Rukia's face, the same way it did years ago.
But this time, it wasn't just soft caress…
It felt like a farewell.
At that thought, Rukia turned her back at her enemy without hesitation, to run towards Byakuya's direction.
Hoping she could reach him somehow.
"Nii-sama!" she exclaimed in great fear. As her heart metaphorically got stacked on her throat.
Then she lost consciousness, as the enemy attacks her from behind.

"Renji" Byakuya called out at his vice-captain that was lying unto the ground, defeated.
"Rukia…. Forgive me" he said in regret, before he loss his consciousness.

.
"The captain of squad 6th, Kuchiki Byakuya, has just died" someone announced.
At hearing this, Ichigo who was trapped in the Dangai, felt anguish as he desperately tried to reach soul society, at all cost.
"Byakuya" Ichigo called out.
