Hey guys the author here, i just wanted to let you know that i was going to post this on Friday night after i finished work (Yes i said work because you girl is now in the land of employed since graduating in November 2019) however i was in shock over the news of Prince Philip's death (still am to be fair) so i didn't post it.

Anyway there's not a lot of chapters left to go before this fanfic is completed so here is: THE START OF THE END

** The timings of when Kyle will get out of hospital is probably wrong but for the story i needed it to fit so sorry again if the timing mentioned is wrong **

(12:08pm) 21 minutes later…

Summer Bay – Inside The Den

After leaving the house earlier due to the argument with Lucas, Matilda decided to go for a walk and ended up at The Den.

As she entered the building, Matilda spotted Lee at the till. Sighing she walked to the other side of the room and sat down.

Noticing Matilda, Lee made the decision to go over and talk to her: "Hi."

Matilda glared in response.

"Em, I just wanted to say em, that this whole thing and I hope you don't hate Lucas or anything, but it's not what it looks like."

"Lucas already tried that once so don't even bother," Matilda replied with a hint of annoyance "Do you think I'm some kind of idiot?"

Sighing Lee went to walk away which had Matilda, jumping out of her seat and trying to grab her instead knocking the bag out of the girl's hand: "Hey, I asked you a question!"

"Are you alright?!" Lee angrily replied bending down to pick up the stuff that fell out of her bag.

It was at that moment that Matilda noticed a photo on the floor and quickly grabbed it: "You and Mr Braeburn?"

Snatching the photo out her hands, Lee stuffed it back in her bag: "Just forget it."

"It's not what it looks like, this is what you guys have been talking about isn't it?" Matilda quizzed her "It's what Lucas wanted to tell me but couldn't. Mr Braeburn's the father of your baby."

"Shh, keep you voice down." Lee whispered not wanting anyone else to hear.

"But I don't understand, why are you telling everyone that Lucas is the father? You're only making this whole situation worse."

"It's none of your business."

"You've got to tell someone; he can't get away with this."

"I'm handling it, okay."

"By lying to everyone?"

"Just drop it please." Lee begged.

It was at that moment that Cassie and Rocco walked into The Den and spotted the girls talking.

"No, no this is wrong and if you don't tell someone I will." Matilda replied as she walked away not even stopping when she saw her friends.

(12:14pm) 6 minutes later…

Summer Bay – Outside The Den

"Matilda stop!" Cassie yelled to her friend.

Turning around, Matilda came to a stop which allowed her friends to catch up.

"Mattie, what's going on?" Rocco asked out of concern after Cassie had filled him on what had been happening while he was in the bush.

"Nothing."

"Well, it's clearly something." Cassie replied "So, out with it."

"The baby isn't Luc's." Matilda blurted out.

"Then who's is it." They both asked.

"Mr Braeburn's." Matilda replied causing the other two to look shocked.

Meanwhile…

Summer Bay – Yabbie Creek – Northern Districts Hospital – Inside Kyle's Room

While the shock revelation about Mr Braeburn being the father of Lee's baby was being revealed to Cassie and Rocco, Kyle had just been moved to a private room out of the ICU.

"How are you feeling?" Sid asked his patient.

"Great, when I can leave?" Kyle asked as he hated hospitals.

"Not for a couple of days at least Kyle as you only woke up two hours ago." Sid replied knowing that if Kyle didn't have some form of timescale then the teen would just keep harassing the nurses until they caved and sent him home.

"Fine but I'm going to hold you to that." Kyle informed the doctor.

Before Sid a had chance to reply there was a knock on the door, as it opened Belle walked in with a huge smile on her face.

"Kyle." Belle said happily as she walked over to him.

"Belle." Kyle replied before the two teens started to kiss causing Sid to excuse himself and closing the door behind him.

Breaking away from the kiss, Kyle spoke first: "Thank God you're okay."

"Me, it should be me thanking God that you're okay." Belle pointed out "I thought I was going to lose you Kyle."

"Well, I'm here and I promise I ain't going anywhere. Now what about you and what about the spider bite?"

"Good, because I don't want to lose you Kyle." Belle smiled as she sat on the edge of the bed "In terms of the spider bite, it wasn't dangerous, and I'm being discharged this afternoon. Mum was just signing my discharge papers when Brax said you were awake and that you had been moved out of the ICU."

"And you won't lose me Belle. Now can we please talk about you, the fact it wasn't dangerous is a good thing and the fact you're being discharged is great." Kyle told her.

At the same time…

Summer Bay – Yabbie Creek – Northern Districts Hospital – Corridor Outside of Kyle's Room

While the teens where talking the rest of the Braxton clan were stood outside when Amanda appeared: "What are you all doing out here?"

"We thought we'd give the love birds some time alone." Ricky replied.

"Oh, by the way thank you for letting Belle know she could see Kyle." Amanda said directing it at Brax.

Smiling, Brax said: "Don't mention it, it was one of the first things he said when he woke up. Also, we never said thank you for putting all of your money into the search."

"So, the same as Belle then." Amanda responded which had them all laughing "You don't need to thank me Brax especially how I pretty much ran out and everyone was ready to stop."

"But thanks to you Amanda, we didn't, and we got enough together to find them all." Ricky told her.

Summer Bay – Yabbie Creek – Northern Districts Hospital – Inside Kyle's Room

"So, when do you think you're getting out of here?" Belle asked her boyfriend.

"Sid said in a couple of days, why?" Kyle quizzed her.

"According to Ruby, Casey is looking forward to celebrating both your birthdays and he has come up with some sort of idea that he won't tell anyone about."

"Oh god, that can't be good if it's one his ideas." Kyle laughed.

"Well, you never know it could be a good one this time."

"When are they ever good?"

"Very true." Belle said as there was a knock at the door.

Popping her head in, Amanda said: "I know you've been wanting to spend time with Kyle, but I need to get you home before Irene starts to worry something has happened."

"Can't I just stay a bit longer mum?"

"No Belle, I'm sorry but you can always come back tomorrow." Amanda informed her daughter "Anyway, I'll leave you to say goodbye."

With that she closed the door again.

Turning back around, Belle sighed: "I guess the quicker I leave the quicker tomorrow will come and I can see you again."

"Some very good logic there." Kyle smiled as he give his girlfriend a kiss goodbye.

With that Belle left the room, once she was gone Kyle's smile dropped as he tired to conceal the pain he was in before his family walked in the room.
