Hey everyone!

Happy middle of the month! I hope you are all doing well and staying safe. This week is so crazy exciting for me and it's the most excited I've felt in weeks. Eurovision is this week, as is my football/soccer team's playoff matches. (I don't play, I just watch.) I'm also off to see the first Lord of the Rings movie tomorrow as well as cinemas have reopened here. That LOTR fic will come eventually, just taking a lot of set up work.

Stay safe out there!

Lots of love,

Hidden Child-Part 94:

"What?" Lyra asked as she looked at her aunt, stunned that her own mother reaching out.

"The whole idea was your father's but your mother was the one who reached out to me about Tonks coming on the protection team," Andromeda explained, "my daughter being a Metamorphmagus means that she's able to blend in a lot better than most Aurors and that is really what mattered in this. The idea was that you weren't meant to know about this at all but things changed and here we are," she said as she looked at the two, "what happens now is something that your father has to find a way to cope with as we both want to get you to know you better now you and Cissy are in our lives."

Lyra bit her lip and nodded as she looked at her cousin, who shrugged her shoulders without a care in the world and she found herself chuckling at her cousin's laid back and carefree attitude about the whole thing.

"Sorry but I can't help it. Tonks seems completely unphased and there's me in such shock about it all," she said as she looked at her aunt, "it just seems like Tonks knows a little and then I know nothing… knew nothing about this until now. It is just kind of funny really," she said softly.

The three carried of talking about things for a while before Andromeda sighed,

"I will go straight to Malfoy Manor and speak to my sister and tell her that we have met. It would be better that she finds out now rather than later. Lyra shouldn't have to lie to her mother any more than she no doubt already has," she said.

Before either of the younger witches could answer Helena suddenly appeared out of nowhere and she looked.

"The chaos is over and everyone will be looking for Lyra soon enough," she said and the three sprung to their feet and Andromeda said she'd write soon before she slipped out of the Room of Requirement.

It was minutes later and Narcissa was roused from her reading as her sister appeared from out of nowhere.

"Andy? What are you doing here? Is everything OK at the school?" she asked, instantly laying her book down on the table, "what? What is it? You're nervous about something…"

Andromeda bit her lip before she sat down opposite her younger sister and she nodded.

"I've just come from a meeting with Lyra. She wanted to meet me and I couldn't say no to her," she said, "Tonks set it all up. Lyra didn't say anything because she didn't want to upset you but she was desperate to meet me at the same time," she said as she looked at her sister.

Narcissa remained silent for a few moments before she burst into laughter, surprising her older sister.

"Well you have to admit that we did see this coming in a way," she said as she looked at her, blue eyes twinkling, "it was inevitable that the moment Lyra and Tonks finally knew about each other that Lyra would want to know you," she said, "Tonks was the only extended family member she's met," she said before asking her Elf to bring them some tea and cake as it was a special occasion.

Tea and cakes was soon served and Narcissa remained silent for a few moments as she ate a cake and then she looked at Andromeda,

"I'm not mad at Lyra. She's a rather curious child now she's been let loose at Hogwarts but I wish that she could have been honest with me. I can understand why she thought it would upset me though," she said as she sipped her tea.

"She didn't want to upset you in any way," Andromeda said, "at that moment in time she didn't know that her father had said about Dora tailing her at school. She's just found that out because I had to tell her," she said as she also sipped her tea, "her heart was in the right place, just maybe not her mind," she said.

"Yes she cares but her curiosity got the better of her for sure but she wanted to know you," Narcissa said, "I'm not going to stop her either. If you wish to carry on seeing her then you are more than welcome to. I can speak to Albus and get you visitation right so you can go and see her properly."

"Why would you do that?"

"Because you and Tonks are the only family she has outside of parents, siblings and grandparents. She needs to know as many family as possible," Narcissa said softly, "the rift needs to be healed between us for Lyra's sake. She needs all the family that she can get and that means us having to put aside our differences then I am willing to do it for my daughter's sake," she said.

"Does mother know?" Andromeda asked.

"She knows Tonks is tailing Lyra but not that we are talking," Narcissa said, "I still haven't figured out how to break that news to her because I think that she won't be happy at all," she said.

"I can see that for sure. She wasn't happy and said I wasn't family when I left to marry Ted," Andromeda said as she looked at Narcissa, "I don't regret going but I do regret leaving you behind."

"I know you do and that is understandable. Things weren't good when you left and it can't have been easy for you to just leave me behind," Narcissa said, "You asked how mother would react and the answer is I don't know. I'm terrified she'll get mad but all I care about is protecting my daughter and the more people she knows who can help the better," she said softly, "Lyra is what matters now," she said before laughing as she saw her sister pulling a face that reminded her so much of her mother that it humoured her. Andromeda soon joined in the laughter but neither had heard the footsteps drawing closer.

"What is going on here?" came a voice that made the both of them freeze.
