As Warden Woo arrives back at the Station with Alpha Flystander to reimprison him, Czuch finally returns to the WCL headquarters in the Vengabus, coming to a stop outside.
"Alright, lads, here we are." Czuch declares, waking up everyone on the bus. Mugsy is the first to step out, quickly dashing inside and getting back to his usual affairs. Boneregard groggily stands up, making his way back to his quarters. foul play stands up, but, not knowing where to go, doesn't get off the bus.
"Hey, Czuch, could you take me back to my house?" foul play asks.
"Sure. Where do you live?"
"Just drop me off by the Beaten Meat." foul play sits back down, and Czuch takes the 4 minute drive from the WCL headquarters to the Beaten Meat, before stopping again. foul play gets off the bus, walking out of sight.
Meanwhile, Cybr sees that the scan of the mask is complete, so he reads up on the info that appears. From what he can see, the mask is in some way fueled by Astral Energy, and is able to bring a soul back from the dead. However, if the mask is ever removed, the soul will never be able to escape the body, not even once the body dies, essentially killing it completely. Cybr unplugs the mask and brings it upstairs, returning to his work on El Diablo's old computer.
Czuch pulls up to his own house, kicking back on the couch to watch some TV in front of a shelf of bus rodeo trophies. He only gets a few minutes into this, though, when an emergency broadcast suddenly interrupts the TV signal. The broadcast reports on the recent "Doop takeover" of an abandoned city-state outside of Costa Brava, and makes note that officials have been trying to find someone with the right skill set to investigate the situation. Czuch thinks this doesn't pertain to him, and tries to change the channel, but the broadcast keeps going, talking about how it would be preferable if it were someone who could drive well. Czuch grows slightly suspicious, wondering why the broadcast seems to be pandering to him, and the broadcast indicates that any such thoughts are mere paranoia. Czuch eventually gives in, donning his leather jacket as he heads back out to the Vengabus and drives out of town, eventually reaching the border of the city-state. Doop Doop narrows his eyes, watching Czuch from atop a high wall.
"Don't get any closer! I'm authorized to use lethal force on anybody trying to enter the city-state!" Doop Doop shouts.
"Hi authorized to use lethal force, I'm Dad!" says Dad. Doop Doop promptly hurls Dad off the wall, but in doing so, sees that Super Shopper seems to have somehow breached his securities, and is now walking into the Doopermarket. Doop Doop swiftly sets the turrets to auto-fire mode, and rushes to deal with Super Shopper. During this time, while Doop Doop is being scolded by the voice in his head and forcibly ushering Super Shopper off the premises, Czuch observes the wall from afar. He sees a part of the wall that seems weak enough for him to drive through with his bus, and starts to get in, but Doop Doop sees through his plan, and fires the Doop turrets at the tires of the Vengabus.
"I won't let you put my Doop at risk!" Doop Doop hollers. He hears a nearby radio telling him that he left the Doop oven on back home, but he throws the radio off the wall, since he has no intention of returning to the Doop estate whatsoever. Unfortunately, this proves to be Doop Doop's undoing, as the Doop back home catches on fire, and due to the universally bound nature of all Doop, Doop Doop is also set ablaze, as well as all of the Doop located in the city-state. Czuch begins to approach the wall, but the moment he does so, all of the Doop, flaming and otherwise, disappears at once, leaving the city-state eerily empty once again. Czuch finds himself suddenly being pulled towards the center of the city-state, as though omsluding down a slope. Remembering his omslusion prevention courses, Czuch carefully maneuvers to maintain his stability, cautiously drawing nearer to the monument in the center of the city-state. As his thoughts grow unclear, he focuses on the things he cares about most: money, trucks, and buses.
You're bold coming here, you know that Chuck?
"I came here because the TV said I needed to get rid of the Doop."
The Doop was put in place to keep you out, yet here you are. What do you suggest I do with you?
"I can head on out and go pick up my reward for dealing with the Doop."
That sounds boring. What do I get out of it? You know, since you got rid of my main line of defense?
"Can't you just set up your own defense?"
That was my own defense. I made the Doop.
"Well, you can just make more once I get my reward money. Besides, I didn't light it on fire. Must've been whoever sent out that broadcast."
I don't know why it was on fire, just get out of here. Tell nobody.
Czuch shrugs, heading out of the city-state and back to the Vengabus, but realizes that the flat tires may be a problem, since he didn't think to bring replacements on such a short trip. Czuch takes out a phone book and starts looking for a repair person. He sees that Wheel Woo is on the list, and dials him up, but he just gets an answering machine, because Wheel Woo had his phone confiscated as punishment for letting Warrant Woo kick the bucket, and also for letting Warrant Woo die. Czuch sighs, and looks one name down on the list, seeing someone named "Wrench Woo". Czuch calls up Wrench Woo, and gets an answer after a few seconds.
"Wrench Woo Repairs, what's your problem?" the voice on the other end of the line speaks.
"The tires on my bus are flat, can you replace them?"
"Depends, what size are the bus tires?"
"They're standard bus tires."
"Alright. And, according to this document here, I'm supposed to ask if you, by any chance, plan to commit any crimes with this bus?"
"Not...at the moment."
"Good enough, I'll be right over." Wrench Woo hangs up, and Czuch waits around, until eventually Wrench Woo arrives, with his Stand, Can We Fix It?, in hand. Wrench Woo gets to work, banging his wrench on the wheels of the bus until eventually they're back in working order.
"Alright, you're good to go, the bill will come in the next week." Wrench Woo says, and Czuch thanks him, getting back in the Vengabus and driving home. When he walks inside, he finds that his reward is already there for him, in the form of Broadcast, as well as an owner's manual for operating Broadcast. Czuch flips through the manual, and sees that it mentions how Broadcast can be used to broadcast to anything within a 10 mile radius. Growing suspicious, Czuch opens up a log of recent transmissions, finding that the last few broadcasts were done by someone logged under the name "Matchstick". He quickly deduces this is probably the person who started the fire at the city-state, and wonders if they might be affiliated with the WCL, since they might have an arsonist in one of their branches. He figures that it couldn't hurt to ask about it, deciding that if anyone would know, it would be Cybr, since he's always been good at looking up this kind of information. Czuch heads back out, walking to the WCL by foot to take in the sights of the city on the way, and also to get some refreshing air and exercise. Eventually, he arrives at the building, and walks in to see Mugsy eating meatballs in a state of thought.
"Oh, hi Czuch! Could you taste these meatballs for me? Something doesn't seem quite right, but I can't place my finger on it." Mugsy says, waving at Czuch.
"Maybe later. I wanted to ask Cybr about something first." Czuch responds.
"Cybr? Well, I haven't seen him around, but I saw his computer turned on upstairs, so he's probably around somewhere. Though, he never turns that thing off anyways."
"Alright, I'll take a look." Czuch heads upstairs, while Mugsy goes down into the basement, trying to see if using Meatsmith's forge for his meatballs will help improve their taste. Czuch finds that Cybr is, in fact, not at his computer at the moment, so he dials up Cybr's phone. He hears the ringing coming from inside Cybr's desk drawer, which indicates that he must be around somewhere. Czuch heads back downstairs, and notices Prinjle's corpse on the ground, so he politely calls up Wash Woo to come and dispose of it. While Wash Woo begins the long journey to the WCL, Czuch looks around, and, seeing no signs of Cybr, heads back upstairs again, to Boneregard's room. He nudges the sleeping skeleton, wanting to ask him if he knows anything of Cybr's whereabouts. When that doesn't wake him up, Cuzch jostles him harder, causing him to roll onto the floor.
"Oi, what was that for?" Boneregard yelps, as his skull hits the ground.
"Sorry, I just wanted to know if you had any idea where Cybr was."
"He was at his computer last I checked. Why you wanna know?"
"I wanted his help in looking something up."
"Eh, I dunno. Might've heard him heading upstairs before I fell asleep, go and check up there, I guess. Not like the Boss is around to get you in trouble if he's not there."
Czuch nods, heading up to El Diablo's office, where Cybr is still working on El Diablo's computer.
"Hey, you there, you seen Cybr anywhere?" Czuch asks, and Cybr looks up, without turning around.
"Why, yes I have. Why do you ask?" Cybr responds.
"Just wanted to ask if I could have him search something on that computer of his."
"Cybr will be down shortly, go ahead and ask Meatsmith if he's done with what he came here for in the meantime."
"Sure thing, thanks for the help." Czuch heads back downstairs, and then down again to the level where Meatsmith is.
"You almost done smelting there, buddy?"
"Huh? Oh, yeah, just finished up the last piece." Meatsmith says.
"Thanks for your help. We'll take it from here, then." Czuch waves, as Meatsmith heads out the back door and takes the long way back to the Beaten Meat. Czuch goes back to Cybr's workstation, and finds the creature from earlier waiting there. Cybr turns around, allowing for Czuch to see his signature glasses.
"Ah, I see. You a friend of Cybr's, then?" Czuch notes.
"Let's go with that. What did you want to search?" Cybr replies.
"Some guy named 'Matchstick'. Helped me deal with a city-state full of Doop. Was wondering if he was some arsonist who works with us that I didn't know about."
Cybr types a command into the computer, and then ejects the USB containing the information, opening the file and reading it aloud.
"Name: Ignis. Codename: MATCHSTICK. Position: High Eliminator Pyromancer. Active Assignments: One. Successful Eliminations: Fifteen. Purpose: Burn down all who oppose the Order. Specialty: Evidence elimination; mass destruction." Cybr recites, before removing the drive. "Looks like we've got another one of those guys on our hands."
"Oh, okay. Wonder why he helped me, then. Maybe he's a traitor, or a double-agent? Think I should try and find him?"
"I suggest going in disguise, just in case."
"The bus would probably give it away."
"Then disguise the bus."
"As what? A prison bus?"
"That'll do."
"Alright. Bye." Czuch heads out, walks home, and gets into the Vengabus. He finds that Cybr has already put a map leading to Ignis's signal into the GPS system, so he clicks the button on his keys to change the bus's appearance, puts on a new pair of glasses as a disguise, revs up the engine, and pulls out onto the road.
