This poem is about Mary's rape. The poem is told through Mary's p.o.v. Later on, Mary and Francis have a son named Gabriel. Many years later, Francis' death and Gabriel's suicide leaves the kingdom shaken.

Situation: Post Mary's Abortion

Scene 1: A Bedroom

The Physician (Catherine's friend) putting away his instruments): The procedure is now complete

Catherine (paying the Physician): We thank you for your services. You can go home now.

The Physician (quickly leaving the room with his instrumentsand money): You are welcome, my majesty

Mary (still feeling unwell and uncomfortable): My body and heart hurts

Catherine: Your pain is normal and temporary. You will move on from this.

Mary: What if I never recover and move on?

Catherine (leaving the room): It is your loss. May God deal with you.

Mary (crying into Francis' arms): I aborted my baby. I committed a terrible sin. God will never forgive me.

Francis (consoling Mary): I love you. You did nothing wrong. Everything will be ok.

Scene 2: A Church Sanctuary

Mary (sitting in a pew, she cries and prays): Lord, I have come here to repent. I am requesting both your forgiveness and mercy.

Francis (sitting down beside Mary): Mary

Mary (squeezing Francis' hand): I can't stop thinking about what could've been. Whenever will my pain end?
