She's cradling his head, willing him to awaken.
So many things left unsaid.
"Rick," she sobs, "you can't leave. I need you."
Tears flow as their future fades away. "I'm ready. For us. You have to stay."
She needs him to know. Hopes her pleading words manage to find some kind of recognition. To pull him back to her.
"I love you." It escapes on a desperate whisper.
After a pause, his breath stutters, face twitching under her hands. One eye pops open, a smirk on his lips, "I love you too."
