This story serves as a sequel to "Derailed Detour". Kara died giving birth to her son Icarus. Alex has been taking care of Icarus. The holidays especially Icarus' birthday are coming up really soon. Icarus is on a quest to know more about the mother that he never knew even if it means reopening old wounds. During his journey, he discovers he has a guardian angel who is Kara.

97. When She Was Silent and Didn't Help Him

Time Period: Evening

Place: The Kent Family House and Farm

Situation: Icarus has a seizure at the dinner table

Lois (very concerned about Icarus): Sweetheart, you are not eating your dinner

Icarus (tired more than usual): It has been long school day. This is all.

Lois: I understand, honey

(Quite suddenly and abruptly, Icarus collapses and starts having a seizure on the floor)

The Twins (frightened): OH MY GOD

Lois (hysterical as she cradles Icarus): Somebody, please 911

Clarke (looking out of the window): No doctor or nurse can help him. The problem is with his power source. His star is dying.

Lois: We can't just let him die. We must take him to the hospital at once.

(Clarke contacts both 911 and Kara. Kara refuses to come and help her son. She believes he will get over his illness.)
