"Should you be wearing armor?" I yelled over the noise to Damian.
"Shouldn't you?" He laughed.
"Armor slows me down!" I yelled.
Three centaurs charged toward me so I raised my hand and sent them flying. For a quick second I glanced at Damian to see him fighting an Empousa and a hellhound bounding towards him.
"Damian! On your left!" I yell.
He looks to his right. "No other left!"
By the time he was able to turn around, the beast was basically on top of him. I raise my hand and send the hellhound flying far in the other direction.
"Thanks!" Damian shouted.
I ran over to where he was fighting. "Can you create some fire for me?" I asked.
"Why?"
"I just thought of something."
"Okay, sure." Damian lifted his palm and a little flame popped up.
"Thanks," I smiled. I focused on the flame and lifted two fingers.
"You might want to hurry," Damian warned.
"Well I've never done this before so be patient." I focused even harder. Finally, I felt something. I lifted my two fingers and the flames followed. I extended my two arms and the flames grew brighter and bigger.
"What the hades?" I heard Damian say.
I threw the fire towards the mob and caught several monsters on fire. Damian and I looked at each other for a quick second before bursting into laughter.
"How did you do that?" Damian asked as he readied his weapon once again.
"Well everything is made up of molecules isn't it? I just controlled the molecules that held the fire together and commanded it to grow," I explained.
"Ha, you're definitely something," Damian laughed.
"You just now figured that out?"
We kept bickering for what seemed like hours and we were getting nowhere. We were all tired and several demigods were injured, one of them included Damian.
Damian stumbles towards me with a monster chasing close behind him. I grab him before he hits the ground. I wave my arm causing monsters in every direction to get blown backwards.
"Are you okay?" I ask him.
"Yeah I'm fine," he said.
"You're not fine." I said.
"Then why did you ask?" Damian laughed.
I picked him up. "Come on, we're going to the infirmary," I said.
"No I'll go to the infirmary, you stay here and fight."
"I'm not leaving your side, we're stuck together remember," I let out a little smile at that.
"Okay, then I'll keep fighting."
"Oh no your not, I'm taking you to the infirmary."
"But the only reason they haven't gotten far is because you're here, if you leave they're sure to get into camp."
"Fine, we don't have time to argue," I said. I started to think. I finally got it, I had to make myself mad.
I concentrated. I started thinking of the time Jamie was said to be dead, the time when I was sitting in my house, or when I found out about Jamie's death.
"What are you doing?" Damian asked, breaking me out of my thoughts.
"I'm trying to make myself mad." I said.
"Isn't that a bad thing?"
"I tend to fight harder when I'm mad."
"You don't need to be mad to fight hard, you just need motivation," Damian said, "Look around you, Trish. Look at the fallen demigods behind you. Look at me. That should be enough motivation to get you to fight harder than you have ever before."
I did what he said. I looked behind me and there were demigods laying everywhere, some injured, but some worse. I then look at Damian, he could barely keep himself up with cuts and gashes all over. I looked up at the army and the monsters I had knocked down were starting to come to and the ones behind started shoving past the ones that were down. I looked back at Damian and noticed a large gash in his lower side. I clamped my hand over it and the bleeding stopped.
"I'll be right back," I whispered. I slowly sat Damian down and got up. I put my sword at my side and walked towards the large mob.
"What do you want?" I yelled.
No answer. "I said, WHAT DO YOU WANT?!" I yelled louder.
"It's not what we want, it's what he wants." Someone said. A cyclopes, maybe ten feet tall, stepped forward.
"Who's he?" I ask, readying my weapon.
"None of your business, girl," he growls, "All you need to know is that you are to come back with us, and we have orders to kill anything or anyone that gets in our way."
"Well then, you'll have to kill me." I threw καλοσύνη and it hit him right in the chest, killing him immediately.
"YOU SHOULDN'T HAVE DONE THAT, GIRL." A voice boomed.
I screamed as the voice became louder. My head hurt and I couldn't see anything. "GO AWAY!" I yell. Hot tears start to pour down my face. What is happening, I thought, help me.
I felt a hand on my shoulder and suddenly I was lifted off the ground in someone's arms. I knew it was Damian, but he could barely walk before, and now he's carrying me.
I started to scream and kick as tears rolled down my cheeks. I would not have been easy to carry. I clutched Damian's shirt and cried into his chest. "Help me," I whispered through the screams.
I felt myself being pulled away from Damian but I clutched onto him. I heard muffled yelling but couldn't understand what anyone was saying.
Finally I felt Damian's strong arms wrap around me, protectively. I started to scream like a five-year-old again once I heard more yelling. I had no clue what was going on or what was happening, all I knew is that I couldn't stop.
Thanks for reading! I didn't really know where this chapter was going or is going to go but I hope you liked it.
