"No, I'm not getting in the closet!" Beckett whispers.
"Okay, fine. Just...get behind me."
She retreats, grasping his duvet-covered waist.
Castle attempts nonchalance as his mother enters the room. "What're you doing here?"
Martha's eyes don't meet his as she recites her practised plea. "Well, I wanted to talk to you about your daughter's many fine qualities–"
"Do we have to do this now?" Castle whines.
Martha looks up, a slight arch in her brows when she notices the unexpected guest.
"Oh, Katherine! What a surprise. Good to see you two finally finding your rhythm." Martha winks knowingly.
