Day 95: Starday the 22nd, Kuthona, 4707

We woke up together again, with not much to do but enjoy our time together. Veronica and Igor were working on whatever they were working on in the workshop. Niddler was up on his roost, looking down over the chickens and goats, while War-Bringer was doing his rounds on the roof. I didn't know what Bailey 2.0 was up to, but Savah seemed at peace. We got up out of bed eventually, and got some simple food together. We spent the morning talking about all of our plans for the future, and what all we were looking forward to.

It was around noon that we heard a knock on the garage door. I asked Niddler who it was but Savah noted that it was the Mayor. We rushed down to find out what was wrong. Savah opened the door and Mayor Deverin asked if it was okay for her to come in. Savah told her of course and we all went to the downstairs common room. I asked Mayor Deverin what was wrong, and she told us that the Lord-Mayor had just headed back to Magnimar and she wanted to tell us that everything actually went off without a hitch. More surprising than anything else, she was amazed that we had gotten through that without any other problems.

I asked her what the downside was. Mayor Deverin sighed and told us that the council had decided that unless we get a prediction or some other indication that the attack is going to happen, that they are not going to approve announcing anything to the people. She noted that it was decided that we should not panic the people needlessly, and that "the council" decided that the town could continue to build up what they could in secret. I asked her if we brought forth a prediction of this after she told us if that would be found to be suspect. Mayor Deverin said that she had asked Abstalar to have a request for a divination spell on reserve for the next few days if we heard anything. I thanked her and said that we had been told that the next time that we should check would be tomorrow.

Mayor Deverin asked who it was who gave us that advice, and Savah told her that it was Master Leis Nivlandis who had told us this, the master diviner of Magnimar. Mayor Deverin said that she could consider him a fairly reliable source, but that if we did not hear anything tomorrow, then she would tell Abstalar to go about his business. We can't put Sandpoint on an eternal alert for an assault that might not happen due to us messing with the villains' plans. I thanked the Mayor for this update and apologized for having her be in the middle of all of this. She told me that she was just as dedicated to the protection of her people, but that the town couldn't take another event like the goblins, especially if it was hyped up but never happened.

With that, we escorted the Mayor out and I asked Savah what we should do. Savah looked at me and said that we can get in contact with Dame Rebekah and Chelger tomorrow, as they might have some information that we lack. In the meantime, we should enjoy the day and at least have a day to relax. I agreed with her and we went back to the bedroom. I introduced her to the concept of television series shows and she was amazed. We finished the day with a decision to drive out to Destrier Manor tomorrow to talk to our divine duo.
