"In sorrow we must go, but not in despair. Behold! we are not bound for ever to the circles of the world, and beyond them is more than memory." Aragorn to Arwen in LOTR Appendix A

100 Beyond the Circles of the World.

.

In sorrow we must go, but not despair.

To circles of the world we are not bound

Our love will soar above and over all

In death we will be free and unconstrained.

.

It may seem like this gift is double edged

And bitter to receive at final end

But trust in those who call us from above

That love and goodness have the final word.

.

For at the end our path may leave a door

For others of our kind to follow through

And kith and kin both human and elf kind

Will meet again in harmony anew.

.

So now my love, I know this time is hard

Yet it was forged when first we came to meet

There is no comfort I have now to give

Unless your choice you had wished to repent.

.

To bear my love beyond into the west

Where it would dwell forever in your heart

A memory of all once bright and true

But never more to thrive in my regard.

.

In sorrow we must go, but not despair

I shall be waiting on the other side

Farewell my love, I leave you now in peace

To meet the biggest mystery of life.

A/N

And so at last my friends we reach the end of this journey. I would like to say a big thank you for all who have read, commented and followed this challenge. It has been difficult to carry on at times but it is thanks to all of you that I have crossed the finish line. I do hope that you aren't too disappointed that I have ended with a poem but it just felt right somehow.

Special thanks go to KShadeslady and Nurrayy without whose support I may never had finished at all.

I'm not sure where to go next. There are a few ideas in my head and some unfinished pieces to revisit but I can't seem to settle on anything atm so it may be a while before I have anything sensible enough to post, if at all.

Bright Blessings to you all and take care.
