Holly stared at her brother. He was so handsome, even more so now that he was old enough to be in the army. He didn't want to go, but he didn't have a choice.
As they hugged goodbye, she feared the end. This might be the last time she ever saw him again. She couldn't bear it, and she knew that he felt the same way.
Fred held her tightly. "Holly, I love you. You're my sister. And whatever happens, please know that I'll always be with you, in your heart-and you'll always be in
mine."
She watched the truck pull away and brushed back tears, but not even Doc's arm around her shoulders could make her feel better. She missed Fred already; she
just hoped he knew how much she loved him. She couldn't bear for it to be the end.
