Prompt from Babyb26: How about Pocahontas x John Smith wedding day and night that goes halariously wrong?
….
Pocahontas had heard the old wives tales about what to expect on the wedding night.
Let the man make the first move.
She didn't expect John's first words.
"Do we really need that many guards outside?"
Honestly, she thought she hadn't understood him correctly. When she realised that she hadn't, she gave him a look of sheer disbelief.
"What?"
"Do we really need that many warriors out there?"
Pocahontas smirked, "Worried?"
"Yes!" John glanced back towards the tent entrance, "They all have spears!"
Somehow, letting her new husband take control didn't seem likely.
"What if they think I'm hurting you and charge in and stab me?!"
Pocahontas wanted to tell him that he was wrong and that his fears were completely irrational…. But she couldn't get the words out.
Her new husband was almost killed by her own father… maybe he had a reason to be nervous.
Slowly, she got to her feet, pushing John onto the bed (which he looked very surprised at), and headed out of the tent, wincing at the number of guards that were around.
Her Father really had gone over-board this time.
"You are dismissed for the evening." She stated, frowning when one of the guards stepped forwards.
"We've be ordered to- "
"- Perhaps you misunderstood me." She glared at them, "I am ordering you to leave."
The men glanced at each other, before the leader sighed and waved the others away. "If you are sure." He glanced behind him, and gestured for the others to follow him.
She knew they wouldn't go too far, but it was enough.
Making her way back inside the tent, she kissed her new husband's cheek, "There we go." She giggled, "You're safe now."
"My hero…. Again."
