A/N: This journal entry is from later the same night as part 68
I spoke to Esme about Bella last night. I've been so worried about her being sick.
What if she gets pneumonia? Or influenza? What if it isn't a cold and is a rare virus? Or cancer? She is so frail.
I have a bed now and am trying to work out if she could convalesce here, Esme says no. I think I shall ask Carlisle.
Esme advised I stay busy by putting together some things to make Bella feel better. I asked her what she suggested and she said we could get some chicken soup and I could lend her some books or DVDs.
I searched the Internet and apparently people drink ginger tea with honey and lemon, I assembled a shopping list and within an hour of finishing my conversation with Bella I was in the large supermarket in Port Angeles that is open until 11. I managed to get all the medicine and other items on my shopping list for Bella. I called a restaurant with excellent reviews and paid the chef handsomely to work late making chicken noodle soup for me. I explained it was for an invalid and to make it as nutritious as he could.
I arrived back at 2am, as the soup took more than two hours to prepare properly. I then set to wrapping the gifts and painting a get well soon card on my best quality heavy watercolour paper. I found a picture of a popular children's vampire (?) on the Internet and felt that should make her smile. I wrote 'get vell soon', in reference to the vampire character's heavy accent.
By the time we were ready for school, I had packed everything in the gift bag and asked Alice to deliver it on my behalf. I had also had a lengthy consultation with Carlisle regarding Bella's wellbeing and all possible rare diseases she may have contracted.
Carlisle assured me that Bella was most likely suffering from the common cold. I am not yet satisfied that this is all there is to it, but without extensive blood work and cultures there is little I can discover.
I fear greatly for Bella's wellbeing.

Dear Bella,
Please drink lots of water and stay in bed, don't come back to school until you are totally well again. Please do not hesitate to contact me should you need anything at all, no matter how small. I will ask Carlisle to check on you this evening. If I do not hear from you before then I will call 911 and ask the EMTs to make sure you are alright.
I'm sorry I could not deliver these things myself, but I know I am forbidden from going to your house, so asked Alice to help me.
Please contact me at your earliest convenience to let me know you are alive and to update me as to your condition.
I shall leave you with a joke to make you feel better: 'what's blue and not heavy?' (the punchline is on the reverse of the card).
Sincerely
Edward A. Cullen
A/N: The card has a picture of Count Von Count from Sesame Street and the punchline to the joke is light blue.
Please leave a review! Thanks so much to my wonderful beta wh1teow1, please show some love and read Moirai, a reimagining of Twilight for the new decade!
There are pictures of the card on my Deviant Art page, just search for LogLadyJ, they're in the featured gallery.
