A Harry/Luna ship written for the wonderful Aurora
"You're just as sane as I am."
At the time that Harry had first heard those words, he hadn't really considered the impact that they might have had on his life. When Luna had said them, he had dismissed any sort of meaning other than the fact that she was reading the Quibbler upside down. It seemed bizarre, and he wasn't sure if she was sane.
Though, as time had gone by, he had become more and more convinced of her sanity. While her views were sometimes unbelievable and outlandish. However, that didn't make her insane, not at all.
It was when Harry realised that when he started to think about her life lessons. Her one-line comments more specifically. It was this discovery that eventually led to them getting closer. Slowly, the two of them found themselves together.
There wasn't a need for labels, to begin with, they were just enjoying their minutes together. This turned into hours, then days, then weeks. Neither of them could pinpoint the exact day or time they went from being friends to being in a relationship.
Regardless, they were happy.
Harry shrugged off his cloak when he walked into his home, lifting his left arm heavily to hang it up. "I'm home," he called automatically, unsure whether or not anybody would be here to hear him.
"I'm in the kitchen!" came a cheerful reply.
Instantly feeling his mood improve, he made his way through the lounge until he saw the blonde waves. "Hey," he greeted.
Luna smiled at him, a twinkle in her blue eyes, and put her wand away. "How about we go out to eat?"
Harry looked towards his still smoking cooker, whatever was in there was clearly not edible anymore. A smile tugged at his lips. "How about you move in."
The women in front of him blinked in surprise. "Move in?"
Excitedly, with his heart pumping twice as fast, as usual, he moved towards her. "We spend all of our time together anyway, let's make it official. Live with me. Let's live together."
The two seconds that it took for Luna to reply was excruciating. Was she going to say no? Was he moving too fast? Would this even work out? Were they too different? Did she-
"I'd love to," she replied softly.
