After a little research and a helpful chat with Esme, I set to modeling Bella a medallion for her Dracula costume in craft clay. I should have preferred to cast something in metal, but I did not have time to order a crucible before the party tomorrow.

I fashioned a medallion inspired by the one worn in Bela Lugosi's rendition of Dracula. I couldn't resist ribbing Bella gently by writing CINT DRAVILA in reference to her NyQuil induced ramblings. The clay is made from some kind of plastic and dries hard after baking. I have never used it before, but the image on the packet showed jewelry pieces, so it seemed suitable. I embedded a wire I to create a place to hang the medallion from.

The medallion turned out well enough, though it is quite flawed to my eyes, I know humans shall not see the imperfections from my rushed attempt.

Esme and I had watched a video to work out how to use the oven when I baked Bella's birthday cake, so this time the controls posed no difficulty. I baked the clay as the instructions directed, and then painted it with Esme's craft paints. I do hope Bella likes it. I am most proud to have been given this task, I very much like making things for her to use and enjoy.

I am going to hunt now and search in town a little more for the pen that Bella lost last week. I do hope it turns up soon!
