I choose you, chapter 110!

Lillie of The International Police

Something in Tsukishima told him he needed to get back to Yamaguchi as soon as possible. He raced back up the path, ignoring the calls of Kuroo and Bokuto. Just beside him ran Kageyama. As much as Tsukishima hated it, it seemed like Kageyama maybe had the same idea he had. It infuriated Tsukishima to think that Yamaguchi had talked with Kageyama about his run-ins with the team and that Kageyama had taken him seriously from the get go.

It wasn't long before they arrived back at the spot the others had set up camp. Kenma sat comfortably under the large canopy tent typing away at his computer. Despite how urgent and panicked Tsukishima and Kegeyama looked, Kenma didn't seem terribly alarmed by their sudden arrival.

Both Tsukishima and Kageyama looked around the area but sure enough Kenma was the only one there. Tsukishima marched over to where Kenma sat, furious. Logically he knew that Kenma hadn't a clue something was wrong but the idea of Yamaguchi being out there alone set him on fire.

"Where is he!?" Tsukishima demanded, pulling the laptop from Kenma's lap.

Kenma was not impressed in the least by this. He had taken Kageyama to be the sort to act this way but Tsukishima always seemed like the level headed type. "I don't know what you're talking about," Kenma cooly replied as he yanked his laptop back.

"Yamaguchi! Where is he?" Tsukishima growled.

"And where is Yachi!?" Kageyama piped in just as aggressively. "Are they together?"

Kenma looked from Tsukishima, who was still quite furious, to Kageyama who looked just as upset. He had no clue what set these two off. "I don't know what's got you two so bothered. Maybe you should calm down," Kenma cooly shrugged. He never really responded well to aggression.

Both Tsukishima and Kageyama looked taken aback by this. Did he not understand the serious danger the other two were in? Fortunately Kuroo and the others arrived just in time.

"It looks like we need to pack up and head back a little early," Kuroo explained to Kenma.

"Why?" Kenma asked, glancing at his best friend.

"The Evil Team is lurking around here," Kageyama said, checking their surroundings as he did so.

"Hey! You guys weren't supposed to know that!" Bokuto whined.

"How do you know that?" Kenma followed up, ignoring Bokuto.

"Whenever those two are around Yamaguchi and I always run into that team," Tsukishima snapped. He looked around to point an accusing finger at Oikawa but he and Iwaizumi weren't around.

"They decided to stay behind to carry on looking," Aakashi explained, knowing what Tsukishima meant. "We also don't have proof that the Evil Team really is around but the anomaly from last night didn't seem very natural."

"Wait, so there isn't a Zapdos?" Hinata asked, looking quite confused. His question was mostly ignored.

This seemed to convince Kenma enough. He looked back at his computer. "Yachi is picking mushrooms at the cave down that path and Yamaguchi went the other way."

"How long have they both been gone?" Tsukishima and Kageyama asked in unison.

Kenma was surprisingly calm despite having been told the Evil Team was possibly lurking about. "Yachi left not too long ago but Yamaguchi had been gone for a while," he calmly said.

"A while!?" Tsukishima snapped. "How long is a while?"

Kenma shrugged before closing off his lap top. "I'll start cleaning up here if you guys want to start looking for them."

Tsukishima looked like he was about to lose himself at Kenma. How could he be so calm when Yamaguchi was in possible danger?

"Listen, Tsukishima and I will head down that way after Yamaguchi. Kageyama, Bokuto and Hinata why don't you go after Yachi? Aakashi, if you don't mind, could you help Kenma clean up here," Kuroo said, taking leadership without hesitation. Everyone agreed though Kageyama looked like he would rather be going after Yamaguchi.

Tsukishima wasted little time racing down the path towards the cave Kenma had said Yamaguchi had gone to. Kuroo followed close behind. As they went Tsukishima noticed that nothing seemed out of the ordinary. The area seemed calm without any sort of indication that the Evil Team was about.

It wasn't long before they happened upon the tunnel with the rock outside it that looked like a Totodile. Flashlights in hand, they raced in and immediately Tsukishima shouted for his boyfriend. "Yamaguchi! Are you here!? Answer me!?"

"Yama-chan!" Kuroo called as he and Tsukishiam searched high and low for any sign of the missing tainer.

Not once did they get a reply. They called for Yamaguchi's name as they made their way further into the tunnel. It wasn't long before they found Yamaguchi's pile of mushrooms and his pokedex. Tsukishima felt his blood run cold as he picked up the dex. He examined it and knew right away it belonged to his boyfriend.

"W-Where is he?" Tsukishima barely got out as his hand began to shake.

"Hey, don't panic yet," Kuroo said, putting a firm hand on Tsukishima's shoulder. "Maybe something spooked him and he dropped it in the process of getting away."

Tsukishima nodded as he stood up. He flashed his light further down the tunnel and to his dismay it seemed to lead to a dead end. They walked to it and examined the wall blocking their way. Kuroo hummed as they searched to make sure there wasn't any sort of exit that Yamaguchi could have taken to go deeper. Unfortunately it seemed like this was as far as they could go.

"Maybe he ran out of the tunnel?" Kuroo suggested. "We should go check outside just in case."

Tsukishima nodded but something just didn't feel right. Nothing seemed out of place outside the tunnel and there was something about this wall that he found suspicious. He knew next to nothing about tunnels and rock formations but this dead end looked almost fresh. Though his instincts were telling him to stay, he followed Kuroo out of the tunnel. They could always come back here if they came up empty handed.

Little did they know, Tsukishima's instincts were indeed correct. If they had arrived thirty minutes sooner this dead end wouldn't have been here. Instead they would have found several grunts and their Pokemon closing off the entrance and perhaps they would have been able to go in after Yamaguchi.

It was the voice of a woman that Yamaguchi heard. It was a voice he had never heard before. He squinted through the dark as he tried to make out who it was. Could it have been one of the grunts or someone else?

"Don't panic. I've come to save you," the woman whispered as she came up close to the net. "I'm going to let you down but you have to stay quiet, do you understand."

Yamaguchi didn't know if the woman could see him but he nodded wildly. He'd do anything to get himself and Sylveon out of this net.

The woman was true to her word and silently lowered Yamaguchi to the floor and the next thing he knew the net fell from around him. He and Sylveon struggled out of it and both were on the verge of shouting with joy before the woman shushed them once more.

"If you want out of here then we have to go now," she hissed through the darkness. "Follow me."

Following a stranger was a very foolish thing to do but at the moment it beat staying in the back of this trailer. Yamaguchi felt one of Sylveon's ribbons wrap around his hand. Another calming sensation rushed through his body. It seemed Sylveon also felt following the woman was the right choice. Without a word the two followed her through the dark as quietly as they could.

Yamaguchi followed the mystery woman closely as she led him to the trailer door. It was dark but Yamaguchi could make out that the woman wore a strange set of goggles on her face. With the way she moved he wondered if they were some sort of night vision goggles. Once at the door the woman motioned for him to stay back. Yamaguchi and Sylveon did as they were told. He waited patiently as his rescuer assessed the situation outside.

Yamaguchi carefully listened. He could hear quite the ruckus outside. People running around. Admin Mika and Admin Hiroo barking orders left and right. There seemed to be a bit of a panic.

"Go check on the subject!" Yamaguchi heard Admin Mika bark. "Make sure it didn't escape!"

Yamaguchi felt his heart sink. Were they coming here to check up on him already? They hadn't been able to escape the cave yet. Things didn't look good. To Yamaguchi's surprise the woman didn't seem worried.

Yamaguchi's heart almost burst from his chest as the sound of Admin Mika and the grunts came closer. Sylveon's hold on his hand tightened and filled him with enough calming energy to stay alert despite his fear. To Yamaguchi's surprise the grunts and Admin Mika didn't stop at the car they were in but ran past. At that moment the woman turned and motioned to Yamaguchi.

"Now is our chance," the woman hissed and without waiting for a reaction she took Yamaguchi by the wrist and yanked him from the car.

Yamaguchi stumbled in the dark as he followed after her. They ducked behind cars as they weaved their way past the Evil Team. Yamaguchi hadn't realized just how many cars with trailers there were. The one he had been in was one near the end. As they weaved this way and that, he counted close to 10 cars in all. What had the Evil Team been doing here this whole time?

The woman didn't let go of Yamaguchi's wrist as she led him this way and that. Her moves were very calculated, almost as if she had an idea how the grunts worked and functioned. It wasn't long before the line of cars and trucks were left behind them. Yamaguchi wondered if he'd ever have been able to get out of here on his own if she hadn't come along.

The woman still walked with much haste despite the Evil Team being left far behind. Yamaguchi supposed that if they were still in this tunnel then they weren't safe yet. As they walked she guided him this way and that. Yamaguchi had thought these tunnels were just a straight shot through but perhap Nurse Joy had been wrong. Yamaguchi had now clue if this woman really knew where they were going or if they were just getting more and more lost but at the moment he didn't have any other choice but to follow her.

Eventually they rounded a corner and entered a large cavern. The woman stopped and released Yamguchi's wrist. She pulled out a light and turned it on. It was quite bright and it illuminated the cavern they were in. The woman removed the goggles from her face as she fiddled with some sort of communicator in her hand. Yamaguchi studied her wide eyes now that he could see.

The woman was taller than average for a girl with long blond hair that reached to her mid back. Her skin was pale and she had striking green eyes that were currently fixed on the communicator in her hand. She wore a tan trench coat making her look like some sort of secret agent. She looked older than he was by several years. Yamaguchi didn't know what to do or what to say as he studied her. He was still quite shocked over everything that had just occurred.

The woman glanced at Yamaguchi. She looked almost surprised for a moment, almost as if she had forgotten he was there to begin with. "Are you doing alright?" She asked, putting the communicator back into her pocket. "That must have been quite a shock for you being taken like that." Her smile was kind and genuine.

"I-I…" Yamaguchi sputtered. He wasn't fine, at least not at the moment. He was still a little scared and unsure what was going on. "W-who are you?"

"Oh, right, I guess I haven't introduced myself," the woman turned her head to the side as she said this. "I'm Lillie of the International Police," She extended her hand to Yamaguchi as she said this. "And you are?"

"Y-Yamaguchi Tadashi," Yamaguchi replied in a bit of a daze as he took Lillie's hand. She was an agent for the International Police. Yamaguchi felt like he'd heard of them before. They normally didn't get involved with things unless it was a big threat.

Lillie smiled kindly as they shook hands. She didn't seem worried in the least despite the situation they were in. "You wouldn't believe how shocked I was when I saw them try to kidnap a trainer," Lillie said as she looked Yamaguchi up and down. "Normally Team Serpent targets Pokemon."

"T-Team Serpent?" Yamaguchi's voice cracked as he asked this.

"That's what they call themselves," Lillie hummed as she removed her communicator from her pocket again to fiddle with it.

"O-oh…" Yamaguchi felt like his mind was about to explode. So much information and so much was happening in the moment he struggled to focus. Sylveon once again took his hand calming him once more.

"We were really lucky that you came along when you did," Lillie explained as she typed away on her device. "You getting stuck in that trap wasn't part of the plan but it ended up being more beneficial in the long run."

Yamaguchi cocked his head to the side. He had no clue what she was talking about. So many questions swarmed around in his mind but he couldn't get a single one out. Who was this woman? How did she know so much about Team Serpent? Why were they just sitting around in this room? What was going on?

"It looks like some members of Team Serpent may have followed after us," Lillie said as she placed her communicator back in her pocket. "We may have to take a few on to get out of here. Are you ready to battle?"

"B-Battle?" Yamaguchi eeped. As he said this he could hear voices headed their way. He looked to Sylveon and to his surprise she looked to the entrance at the ready. "I-I guess we are," Yamaguchi nodded, looking at Lillie with determination.

"Perfect!" Lillie smiled as she pulled a pokeball from her pocket.

Just then Admin Mika led the way as she and a few others entered the room. Her eyes were on fire the moment she saw Yamaguchi. "You! This is all your fault!" she shouted, pointing an accusing finger at Yamaguchi.

Yamaguchi flinched back only a bit but held his ground. Sylveon looked ready to rip off Admin Mika's face if she so much as took a step closer to her trainer.

"Calm yourself, Admin Mika," Colress hummed as he pushed past her. He quietly studied Yamaguchi and Lillie for a moment. He smiled wickedly at the sight of them. "Well, if it isn't little Lillie. It's been a while," he purred, his eyes studying the woman beside Yamaguchi.

"Colress, I see you've still been able to avoid being thrown into jail," Lillie replied, her tone quite sassy despite the danger they were in.

"Where is it!?" Admin Mika snapped. "Where is the specimen?"

Yamaguchi had a feeling Admin Mika was not referring to himself but something else. He glanced over to Lillie to see her smiling.

"It's not with us," Lillie replied in almost a gloating tone. "But even if it was it's not like we'd hand it over to you."

"Why you little…" Admin Mika growled, her fist clenched.

"There is no point in staying here, we have to find it," Professor Colress calmly said. "Make sure the boy doesn't escape," he added to Amin Mika and a few grunts.

"We can't let them get away!" Lillie said, looking to Yamaguchi for back up. "We have to keep them here as long as possible!"

"W-What!?" Yamaguchi sputtered. He thought they were trying to escape now they are trying to keep them here!? Yamaguchi looked to Sylveon who sent him a determined yip. Kuroo's words echoed in his mind. Now that he wasn't in a net perhaps he and Sylveon would be able to hold their own. Despite his confusion, something in Yamaguchi told him that fighting them was the right thing.

Lillie smiled widely before throwing her pokemon into the air. "Ninetales, come on out!"

A beautiful Alolan Ninetales jumped from the ball onto the tunnel floor. It looked ready to take on the enemy. Sylveon didn't hesitate to join it front and center.

"I'll deal with Colress. You take on that Admin lady!" Lillie commanded, not even giving Yamaguchi a chance to refuse.

Yamaguchi felt his spine go stiff. He? Battle Admin Mika? She was out to kill him now more than ever. Despite his fear he didn't hesitate. He had Sylveon by his side. He could do anything along as his pokemon were with him and if this was what needed to be done to get them out of here then he'd do it.

Author Notes:

Well now, It looks like we have finally learned the name of the evil team. Team Serpent. I guess it makes sense with the masks they wear. I wonder what it is they need with Yamaguchi? What is the specimen they keep talking about? Will Yamaguchi and Lillie be able to hold their own in battle? Stay tuned to find out that and more.

Hey all! I hope you are doing well. We finally get to see Yamaguchi battle a strong trainer who won't hold back. I hope all the training he has done with Kuroo, Tsukki and Kageyama is put to good use. I'm very excited for our boy.
