Chapter 115: Jaxon Meteoro: Rise

{Flashback}

It had been nearly two and a half weeks since Jaxon had left his home in the attempt to finally prove his worth to himself and possibly his family as well. Not really knowing where he was headed, Jaxon eventually had to take his trip on foot so that he did not use all of his energy on using a transportation tornado towards his destination. He pulled the paper from his pocket once more, unfolding it till completely full in size, Jaxon re-read what his mission had planned for him. {Hydra Horror! Amidst the Desierto shores of Lake Jobeicde reigns a terror that has been wreaking havoc upon the Desierto Fishermen! Slay the monster to claim your reward! 2.5 mil Jewels}

"Whew... I must be getting close. It's getting hotter and hotter by the minute around here..." sighed Jaxon as he wiped the sweat off his forehead while continuing to walk down a desolate, desert trail.

The desert heat radiated onto Jaxon's entire body as he shuffled his way forward. Trying to keep his mind off the heat, Jaxon attempted to let his mind wander. Whether it was about what he wanted to accomplish by taking this job or if his family was doing alright without him. "I'm sure they are fine..." Jaxon nodded, almost chuckling as he kept on talking to himself. "I bet they are nice and cozy back at the Guild... Luke is probably getting himself in some sort of fight... Aira is probably trying to help Master anyway she possibly can... And Reve and Taya... — Oh yeah...the desert heat made me forget so quickly..."

A small sigh released as he lifted his arms up and rested them on the back of his head. He would be lying to himself if he told himself he didn't miss everyone and being home. This was the longest he had been alone since as long as he could remember. Which seemed strange because little memories, here and there, seemed to slowly come back to him that he couldn't think of before his coma.

Jaxon shook his head slightly, getting the idea out of his head as his mind wandered elsewhere while walking, causing him to let out a quiet sigh. "I didn't even get to say goodbye to her... Hell, I don't know if I am going to make it back. Maybe that's a good thing though...that way, even if she did worry about me, she won't have to since nobody knows that I am here."

"Ooo... I hope nobody has checked the SS-Class jobs lately. Sidney is going to kick my ass if he finds out that I took one of these jo--" Jaxon was stopped abruptly in context to himself as an unfamiliar voice resonated through his eardrums, causing him to perk up and look around to find the voice that interrupted his train of thought.

"Oi! Hey there, fella! Whatcha doin 'round here!? Don'tcha know it ain't safe 'round these parts?" was yelled out by a grizzled old man who has noticed Jaxon from his tribe and came to try to persuade Jaxon to leave this part of Desierto.

"Hm? Oh! Hello there! I...uh...hope I'm in the right place..." Jaxon stated quietly as he pulled the Job paper out of his pocket and handed to the old man, hoping that that was good enough to let him continue on his journey to his job.

The old man took the paper from Jaxon's hand quickly, inspecting it with much haste as the worry and disdain in his eyes quickly turned into electric happiness as he looked away from the paper and over to Jaxon. "Do ya know how long we've been waitin for somebody to come help us out 'round here!?" The old man extended his right arm towards Jaxon to offer his hand for a handshake as he introduced himself, basically pulling Jaxon towards the tribe as he talked at the same time. "The name's Charlie! I'm the tribe elder 'round here and a master angler, if I don't say so myself!"

"I...uh..?" Jaxon just kept walking, seemingly being pushed by Charlie but walking nonetheless, Jaxon was a bit speechless at first before realizing he hadn't introduced himself. "Uh...yeah...alright. My name is Jaxon Meteoro. Meteorology Mage at the White Eclipse guild in Fiore. So...you guys are having a water problem it seems?"

"A water problem? Ya, I guess ya could say that..." Charlie nods as he stops himself and Jaxon in front of the edge of Lake Jobeicde. Charlie looks out towards the lake where his voice turns from warm and welcoming to stern and incredibly unsettling. "Out there, Jaxon... Out there is the most terrifying creature imaginable... An all mighty multi-headed sea monster that kills whatever it nears..."

"A sea monster? W-What do you mean, Charlie..?" questioned Jaxon, immediately beginning to regret taking the Job considering he had no idea what a Hydra was.

Charlie looked down and over to Jaxon, the stern face and tone unwavering as he began to speak again. "It's a gigantic, scaled, sea monster... I've lost countless men to this savage creature, Jaxon. We are simple people. We fish to eat. We fish to make money. We fish to survive. We are beggin ya, child... Please...please...please rid us of this nightmare, Jaxon... Rid us of this nightmare..."

Jaxon just stared at Charlie, trying his hardest to not show the immense amount of fear welled up within himself. Sweat began to bead down his forehead faster and faster, the time he had shared with Charlie helped him forget about the horrid heat, but the anxiety of possibly dying from this job felt like someone had turned the thermostat all the way to the right as Jaxon began to burn up. A loud "gulp" sounded from Jaxon's throat as he tried to swallow his fear, nodding once to Charlie before responding quietly. "No problem! I'll handle this!"

Minutes later, Jaxon sat alone in a small canoe, paddling slowly out into the lake the beach and Charlie became smaller and smaller with each fluid stroke through the water. His heart seemingly took a page out of a familiar Tall-Tale Story as it began to beat louder and louder, faster and faster, the further get managed to get away from land. Soon enough, which seemed to soon to Jaxon, the beach became nonexistent to his eyes as all he was left with was the silent, chilling waves bumping against the canoe and the deafening heartbeat of the terrified Meteorology Mage.

"O-Ok...Jaxon...get a hold of yourself. It cannot be as bad as they make it... These people can't even use magic so they are basically helpless! Yeah! You got this! Papa Kairos has trusted you, make him proud, Jaxon... Make everyone proud..."

Jaxon slowly stood up in the canoe, the untrustworthy floor of the canoe fighting the water made Jaxon's legs a bit weary at first, causing him to take a bit to adjust to his bearings. He closed his eyes and began to concentrate on his magical energy, a gray aura slowly eroded off his body as a large gray magic circle formed high above the lake. As the magic circle finished writing, what had been a terribly hot, sunny day, was replaced by dark, ominous rolling clouds causing heavy fog to cover the lake. Jaxon opened his eyes and looked up in the sky, up at the magic circle and announced his first technique. "Ancient Skies: Oculence."

As soon as the command finished, a bright blazing beam of sunlight ripped through the thick fog, creating an uninterrupted path nearly fifty yards away from his current position. Jaxon exhaled slowly and nodded simultaneously as he sat down, grabbed the paddles, and gently, quietly, made his way through the path created by his own technique.

"Oh shit..." muttered Jaxon as the slow, stealth-like movement seemed to be all for naught in the matter of mere moments as out of nowhere, the beam of light that Jaxon's technique had created grew in absolute enormity, causing the light to increase in size so much that, before it began moving, the distance between the monster and Jaxon, had been nearly cut in half.

When the beast began its fluid march towards Jaxon, all he could do is stand and prepare for the worst, unable to see where the Hydra was, only being able to follow the light to its whereabouts, Jaxon stood there as if his dear old friend Waiston, the Ice Dragon Slayer, had froze his body completely. "Oh shit...oh shit...oh shit..!"

If upon reacting to Jaxon's cuss-filled yelp, the surface of the water shattered as the beast in which Jaxon travelled all this way for had finally showed its' ugly heads. [one...two...three...four...five.?!, Jaxon counted to himself it utter disbelief as each number signified a head, with a long, winding anaconda mimicking neck, that the Hydra carried upon its scaly, dragon-like frame.

A blood-curdling screech bellowed out of each of the five Hydra heads as the middle of the Hydra heads shot towards Jaxon like a cannon from its initial position, opening its mouth wide to show off its deadly sharp collection of flesh-eating teeth. The frozen, seemingly statue-mocking Jaxon just stood there in absolute fear as the Hydra head collided with the canoe, shattering it into toothpicks.

Of course, with the enormity of the Hydra head, Jaxon was not able to escape the initial assault unscathed. The force of the monster's point-blank blow hit Jaxon's entire body, causing him to skid across the lake surface as if he was thrown out into the water like a child skips a rock on water. Each connection with the choppy water tossed his body like a ragdoll with absolutely no care.

When Jaxon finally slowed down to a halt, he had landed on his back; completely soaked from water with traditional anime stars in his eyes as the young Meteorology Mage was knocked out from only one hit. His body only floated for that little amount of time as Jaxon slowly began to sink, still not completely coherent from the Hydra power.

This couldn't be it already... He didn't even get a shot off and Jaxon was already submerged underwater, slowly dropping in depth, practically signifying his demise. [N-No..., Jaxon thought to himself as his eyes opened up, already noticing what was happening to him. [N-Not already...n-not like this..., he continued to psych himself up as he extended his right index finger, slowly spinning it clockwise three times.

Jaxon continued to sink in the lake, but only momentarily as a cyclone manifested underneath him, catching him from dropping any further, skyrocketing out of the lake, and lifting him up high into the air. Jaxon coughed harshly, spitting out any water that had filled up in his throat as he staggered back up and stared at eye level with monstrous Hydra. "Oh no... I'm not done with you just yet... Let's see how you handle this one!"

Opening both of his hands up, Jaxon quickly wrote a massive blue magic circle into the air. As it finished writing, the magic circle hovered high over Jaxon and the mighty Hydra. Jaxon stared at his most terrifying opponent as he yelled out his attack, "Hurricarana!"

Upon command, the large blue magic circle shattered which instantly caused a heavy disarray of gale force winds that, as if on instinct, began swirling around the Hydra and Jaxon. As the dark gray, almost black in color, clouds covered the area they brought forth a mind-numbing amount of rain as, when combined with the wind, created needle-like rain that connected with its target, the Hydra of the lake.

As beginning moves go, this was not the most heavy of handed shots towards a water serpent who reacted in absolutely no fashion towards the rain hitting its scales. After finding its center of gravity from being thrown around by the gale force winds, the Hydra let out growling screech and it shot towards Jaxon and the transportation tornado faster than a speedboat. Jaxon leaned backwards, causing the tornado to glide backwards but the Hydra was still gaining ground. "Damnit!" complained Jaxon as he quickly tried to think of something to do to slow the mighty beast down when out of nowhere a deafening crack echoed through the air followed by another loud screech from the monster.

When Jaxon had finally realized what happened, the Hydra was already "composing" itself and starting to make its way back towards Jaxon. A well placed and well timed lightning bolt screamed down from the sky and slammed into the Hydra's second head right as it was lunging at Jaxon. "That's it!"

Placing both arms out and opening his hands towards the hellacious Hydra, two yellow magic circles formed in front of his hands as his arms began to spark off in built up static electricity, signifying that his next attack was ready to fire, "Lightning Storm!"

The two yellow magic circles imploded within themselves as a multitude of lightning bolts screamed out of Jaxon's palms, firing directly at the Hydra heads. At this time, Jaxon wished he had Reve's pinpoint accuracy as when one bolt of lightning connected with one of the heads, three more would miss completely. Nonetheless, the attack was working! It was working so well that Jaxon had the Hydra on its heels! Jaxon grinned as the adrenaline continued to pump through his veins causing him to close the gap between him and the Hydra.

There it was, the moment just seemed right for Jaxon. Almost without even thinking, Jaxon leapt off the tornado that was keeping him high and dry, and jumped forward towards the Hydra with his right fist cocked back. Jaxon aimed his body towards the middle head of the Hydra. "STORM STRIKE!!!", screamed Jaxon as his right fist filled with lightning magic shot forward, slamming the middle Hydra head square in the nose. He could feel the electricity flow out of his body and the surge through the Hydra's body. A black smoke eroded off of the middle head and neck of the Hydra as Jaxon knew that the first part of his attack connected with full force.

But Jaxon wasn't done. There was a second part of the Storm Strike technique and Jaxon had already readied himself to connect this 1-2 punch of hand-to-hand combat. Just as Jaxon's right foot filled with power focused thunder magic was about to hit the middle Hydra head, Jaxon was slammed out of nowhere by a blindsided Hydra head. Flying towards the left, the Hydra's far left head used its head and neck as if it was a baseball bat and slammed itself right into Jaxon's body connecting with a devastating shot which sent Jaxon soaring.

When Jaxon landed, it wasn't on water. The Hydra had hit Jaxon so hard that he flew and landed with a massive thud 200 yards away onto a desolate beach. "Ugh...my sides are killing me...", Jaxon moaned as he slowly sat up and looked down at himself noticing that he had blood oozing out of both sides of his stomach. He rubbed his forehead but then flinched and let out a faint whimper because he had accidentally wiped sand into an open gash across his forehead from the landing.

"Nope... I'm not done with you yet. I'm a White Eclipse mage...", Jaxon yelled out at the Hydra as get got up to his feet and slowly limped ran towards the water, swirling his index finger once more. "...and I'm going to fight until my very last breath!"

Traces of red whipped in a winding coil down the twister as the blood the exited Jaxon's body from his numerous cuts, scrapes, and gashes glided into the cyclone while Jaxon stood beaten, but not broken, atop another transportation tornado. "I'm going to beat you..." gasped Jaxon, who was breathing quite heavily, "...I don't know how yet...but I am not going to fail Charlie, his people, my Guild family, and myself...DO YOU HEAR ME!? I...WILL...NOT...FAIL..!"

The outburst from Jaxon filled his adrenaline back up as his tornado stormed forward towards the unruly beast. His veins pulsating, breath quickened, and vision narrowed, a jet black aura erupted off of Jaxon's body as he unleashed his own intimidating yell as the young Meteorology Mage turned it up another notch, going into full "God Force" as the Weather God Slayer felt the need to hasten his time in order to have even the slightest chance to defeating the mighty foe.

"Lets see if you can handle the heat!" stated Jaxon as the standoff between him and the Hydra met once more as Jaxon no longer flinched when the epic monster let out another screech and tore a path towards Jaxon. Not moving a muscle, an incredible multitude of red magic circles formed in the surrounding area, trapping Jaxon and the Hydra. "I'm not ready to see you again just yet, Papa... ANCIENT SKIES: SIERRA SUN!"

Each and every red magic circle popped as if it was kernels of popcorn, revealing a sun orb in its place as the clouds dissipated almost instantly while the temperature in the area skyrocketed to breathtaking degrees. Each of the sun orbs centered their energy upon the savage beast as the temperature magnified against the Hydra even higher for unfathomable heat. The Hydra's scales began to sizzle like fried strips of bacon causing the monster to halt in its trek towards Jaxon, let out another pained screech, and hide away, attempting to find salvation underwater where it was cooler than out in the open.

"Oh no you don't!!!" Jaxon yelled, as the magnified energy sources from the sun orbs shined directly onto the water, slowly causing the water to boil in the area that Jaxon witnessed the Hydra hide away into the lake. "I'll get you out of there...come on out of there you big fat ugly chicken!"

Jaxon inhaled quickly, sucking in as much air as he could possibly muster. He pointed his head down towards the position where the Hydra was last seen and readied himself for his way to cause the monster as much harm while causing the Hydra to show up again so he could truly continue the fight. "Weather...God's...BELLOW!" as Jaxon exhaled, he shot out a massive cyclone of multi-variable meteorology magic energy towards the lake surface.

At the exact same time as the Bellow connected with the surface of the water, the Hydra had no longer had the ability to deal with the unrelenting temperature of the water it was being subjected to as it forced itself out of the water, attempting to spear Jaxon with its entire body off his tornado. The Bellow from Jaxon connected with three of the Hydra heads as the Hydra began to spin out of control towards Jaxon as the velocity at which the Hydra was coming at towards Jaxon and the power of the Bellow Jaxon shot towards the Hydra, had caught the Hydra and sent the beast spiraling at Jaxon.

" Oh fu--..!!!" Jaxon could not even react as the body of the beast hit Jaxon flush as the Weather God Slayer was physically body blasted straight up into the air. What was even worse was when the Hydra slammed its body against Jaxon's, Jaxon could literally hear his entire right rib cage break as he screamed out in excruciating pain.

Tears in his eyes as he struggled to open them while beginning to fall from the sky where he already saw that the broken concentration from his broken ribs had caused the "Sierra Sun" technique to dissipate and that the Hydra had already caught its composure was waiting for Jaxon to fall from the heavens with mouths wide open, so to speak.

Jaxon's body was in such immense pain that it hurt to breathe let alone fight back with anymore of his magical strength. But to be physically eaten as a death was something that even Jaxon could not fathom. All five of the Hydra's heads had their mouths open as the eagerly awaited Jaxon to lose his fight with gravity and fall into one of its mouths. "N-N-No..! I can't..! N-Not like this..!" Jaxon let out an absolutely pained scream as the temperature in the area went from an all time high to a bone-chilling low in a matter of seconds.

There was nothing else he could think of to do. Jaxon did not want to be eaten. He didn't want to die to begin with but if he was going to go out, this was the last way he wanted to go out. With pained speech and hallowed breaths, Jaxon announced his last resort way to not be chomped into mage paste. "Ancient Skies..: Ice...AGE!"

The icy blue magic circle that Jaxon had painstakingly created exploded out towards the Hydra right as Jaxon was nearing the monsters knife-like teeth. Unable to react quick enough, the Hydra was frozen absolutely solid in place, not being able to close its mouth in mangle the White Eclipse mage.

Unfortunately, Jaxon's idea never had anything to change his trajectory away from the horrifying Hydra. "Oh no..." was the only words that Jaxon was able to say as the young man from Mt. Fiore fell helplessly into the middle mouth of the mighty Hydra becoming unseen from outside the beast's mouth looking in.

The second hand of the watchtower in Charlie's tribe seemingly halted to a stop as the Hydra stood there frozen like a massive multi-headed iceberg while Jaxon's body slowly descended down the Hydra's middle neck. His body broken, slowly suffocated, yet still pumping blood to drum a slow, fading heartbeat within.

"There's no way I could climb out of here..." mumbled Jaxon to himself as he continued to slide down the dark, saliva-covered cavern. Jaxon closed his eyes as his heart slowly started to fade.

This was it. He tried his best. But his best was not enough. Soon enough this desert heat will thaw out his magical ice, freeing the Hydra from his frozen sarcophagus and the Hydra will live on to continue its reign of terror as Jaxon will just live on as an afterthought, forgotten amongst his peers because of his sheer stupidity for taking on such a overwhelming job for Jaxon's abilities.

"I...I'm sorry...I failed you, my family...my friends..." a trail of tears fell from Jaxon's blue eye as his mind began to play flashbacks into his head of all the faces that had meant so much to him. From Reve to Luke to Taya, which he had remembered why he had looked up to her like she was his big sister, to Waiston, Skye, Selene, Takeru, Aira, from all of White Eclipse to his remembrance of some of the Fairy Tail members who he had met.

His thoughts moved from one woman to five as his mind travelled to his memories as a child and his mother and four aunts raising as long as they could and teaching the magic he used until today. "I've missed you, ma..." Jaxon gulped quietly, trying to hold in his emotions as his voice quivered in sadness and fear. ...I'll see you and aunties soon...I love you..."

{I love you too, but what the hell do you think you are doing, young man!? I know I wasn't around much but I know damn well that I and your aunts didn't raise a quitter!}, Jaxon's eyes flashed open quickly as he looked around to see nothing but black. "Huh?! Oh... I must just be going mad..."

{Son, you better wake up before I box ya jaw! You best not ignore your mother when I talk to you!}, emotions of sadness and defeat changed quickly into absolute bewilderment as Jaxon's heartbeat started to rise again from almost nothing. "M-M-Ma..? I...Is that you?! Ma..! Ma..!" yelled Jaxon ever so weakly inside the body of the Hydra.

A moment of silence was followed by an agitated tone inside the Meteorology Mage's head, {Don't you go yelling at your mother, Jaxon. Now what the hell do you think you're doing? You're just going to give up? That heart is still beating isn't it? Isn't it?! I'm sorry, Jaxon. I'm sorry I wasn't there for you when you grew up. But I will not allow my son to just give up when he is only 18 years old! I will not allow my son to willingly re-unite with me like this... I love you, my son... If this is the way you go, then so be it, I'll ground you until you're 30 if it is, but don't comeback to me without trying... You are too strong and have too much pride to just give up and fade away. I believe in you, Jaxon... Make your mother proud... I love you...}

And just like that, the voice inside Jaxon's head faded away. Jaxon gasped for air as he begged for his mother to come back to him, but to no avail. Left alone to only his thoughts, Jaxon was left to digest the words told to him by his mother. Was he hallucinating it? Was it all in his mind? In all honesty, he had no idea. But there was one thing Jaxon could remember, he never disobeyed his mother's orders whether when she was alive or just in his head. "Ok, ma... For you... I'll try to make you proud... I love you too..."

With all the magical energy Jaxon had left inside of him, a tri-layered, multi-colored magic circle formed inside of the Hydra. Jaxon groaned heavily as he dispelled the rest of his magical energy as he quietly announced his final attack against the Hydra, whether he won or lost, he no longer had anything left in the tank to take on the mighty beast. "Ancient Skies...: Apocalyptica..."

The first two magic circles instantly activated, expanding within the Hydra's body, manipulating its body like a hot air balloon as the ice from last attack began to break because of the pressure. A massive combination of heat, cold, rain, snow, lightning, and wind weather magic began to swirl into a huge bomb inside of the Hydra's body. Only seconds later the third, multi-colored magic circle activated, causing the combination of earthquake and volcanic weather mage to react with the already volatile weather sphere inside of the Hydra. As the magma reacted with the weather sphere bomb, the extreme instability caused the weather sphere to explode in an enormous shockwave of Meteorology Magic, detonating the weather bomb inside of the Hydra with Jaxon inside.

Hours later, Jaxon gasped with a deafening screech as he gulped the air around him, quickly turning to a harsh cough and a monotone moan. "Ugh... Am I dead..?", asked Jaxon as he slowly opened his eyes, only seeing blinding white light as his eyes had not gotten used to anything else other than the darkness inside the Hydra's body.

"Aheh...heh...heh... Naw, ya ain't dead, lil buddy... Now shush so I can finish fixin ya up..." stated Charlie with a small chuckle as the tribe leader continued to emit a sea foam green light out of his hands. "I've been fixin ya up for the past 8 or 9 hours now. I darn right didn't think ya was gonna make it. Broken ribs, broken leg, cut up seven ways ta Sunday... But I'm so damn proud of ya, Jaxon!"

"D-Did I do it? H-How did you find me, Charlie?" question Jaxon quietly as he could feel his body slowly coming back to normal.

Charlie grinned happily as he continued to fix up Jaxon while he told him what happened. "Well, I came outside when I heard a big ole boom from the lake. Welp, next thing I know, its rainin chunks of Hydra all over the place. So I went inside, got my umbrella and watched the debris fall when you came fallin from tha heavens into the middle of our tribe! Well, I had some of the elders pick ya up, bring ya into my residence, and ya been in here sleepin while I been fixin ya up! Yer right lucky to have plopped right into our arms, here Jaxon. If we woulda waited any longer, ya woulda been good as dead! There!", Charlie stood up, wiped his hands and then the sweat off his forehead before extending his hand to help Jaxon up onto his feet. "Ya as good as new now, Jaxon!"

Jaxon, completely stunned by Charlie's story, slowly got back up to his feet with the help of the tribe leader. "I...I did it... I can't believe I actually did it... T-Thank you, Charlie... Thank you for saving me. I owe my life to you."

Charlie let out a loud laugh as he patted Jaxon on the back, "Saving you?! We can't thank ya enough for saving us, Jaxon! Because of you, we can go back to our way of life with no worries. Our people won't live in fear now when they go out to do their jobs. We owe our lives to you..."

"Aheh... Well then, I guess we'll call it even then, right?" Jaxon asked with a small smile on his face.

"Not quite, my boy..." Charlie walked away from a moment before coming back with a large canvas bag in his hand as he handed it over to Jaxon. "Ya don't know how happy I am ta be givin away this money, Jaxon. Ya deserve every Jewel in there, my boy. We can't thank ya enough. Don't ever be a stranger, Jaxon. We will always remember ya. Now get on home and celebrate with ya family."

A single tear fell from Jaxon's blue eye as Charlie said the word "family", he hadn't forgotten what his mother said to him. He hadn't forgotten about his family that might be waiting for him when get got back to White Eclipse. He wanted to get home more than anything. He smiled and nodded to Charlie before tossing the canvas bag over his shoulder, one-arm hugging the tribe leader, and making his way outside, heading his way out of the town. "Thank you, Charlie. Thanks for giving me the opportunity to come home..." Jaxon continued walking until he got out of town before twirling his right index finger once and whispering to himself. "I'll be home soon, White Eclipse... I miss you..."

{End Flashback}

Jaxon sat on the ground, unable to move with his back against the wall. Bloodied, bruised in his right eye along with a plethora of other physical problems. His breath was heavy, panting as he watched his life flash before his eyes. "In case you're wondering," Sidney began as his magic pressure began to lower. "I'm proud of you for finishing the job, but an Ace's mission is more than just point A to point B. I needed to go to that job for more important questions. Did you even ask why there was a hydra in the desert? A hydra. A rare monster thought to be extinct to the point it felt like a myth for them to even exist. You didn't bring back any evidence. It was just Charlie's word. His and yours. I needed it's age, how long it's been there, why it was there. Things like that. That monster can't just simply be slain without these answers. An Ace's job isn't comfortable, Jaxon. And I'm not comfortable in dealing punishment, just know better next time."

Jaxon heard him loud and clear, but his disposition wouldn't allow him to speak. Instead, Sidney would lift him up, using himself as a crutch to bring Jaxon back to the inn. "Now, lets go rest for a few hours. You have to be in good condition to root for your guild mates. Again, Jaxon. Though you went against the rules... I'm proud of you."

As Sidney and Jaxon walked by, Keye remained hidden behind a wall as she watched everything unfold.

"...Why am I stalking them?" She asked herself, unsure of why she was even out there. But as Sidney and Jaxon walked in with the others walking out the other door, Keye went to catch up with her guild mates who prepared for the final day's free for all.

"Alright everyone." Reve looked back with a confident grin. "T minus three hours. Anyone want to back out? Too bad. Lets do this. For the old man! Because it's White Eclipse...

Or Second Place!"

This chapter was written by an amazing friend of mine, the mastermind behind the character Jaxon Meteoro. I hope you all enjoyed it as much as I did!
