A/N: since I think that I was grasping at straws on Game of Life, I decided to document the supposed events that can support this pairing.
Chapter 10: Blood War [part 3]
As Rukia carefully controlled her Bankai's power, trying to exit, her frozen hand cracked at the pressure.
Seeing that, Byakuya immediately went up to her, despite the extreme danger of coming close to the coldest being in the entire universe.
Without even protecting himself from the cold, fearing that his riatsu might cause damage to Rukia's extremely fragile body, he held her frozen hand, to prevent it from cracking any further.
Byakuya's right hand froze up to his arm.
But he didn't seem fazed.
Rukia on the other hand tried her very best to control her powers, in order to protect Byakuya from herself.
Luckily she was able to contain it, else Byakuya would have frozen entirely.
"Slow it down, Rukia" Byakuya instructed, stoic.
At that, Rukia took a rhythmic breathe, trying to relax.
Finally, she was able to control it.

As Byakuya's arm and hand, returned to normal, he remained standing close to Rukia, as he let go of her hand.
"Your Bankai… is exceptionally splendid and powerful" he added, truthful.
Rukia would have blushed in modesty, if not for the fact that, her body is technically dead.
Overwhelmed. As she stared at his beautiful grey eyes.
While he stared at her soul.
Byakuya…
