A.N. — It's days like today I wish the site's tags were expanded. The would be "dark" but not enough to qualify as angst or tragedy. But those are what I have to work with. Anyway, here's a not-so happy birthday drabble.
118. Horace Slughorn
It was said nobody had the self-recrimination to Avada Kedavra themselves. But Obliviate...well, Horace Slughorn found it easy to erase his own mind of its biggest shame.
World War II was raging, but it wasn't the horrors of that conflict Horace wanted to expunge. No, it was a handsome Head Boy asking insidious questions, and his kowtowing to the demands. Horace was long used to cultivating relationships in Hogwarts that led to rewards for himself later on. Never had he regretted grooming an individual more than Tom Riddle.
Holding wand to forehead, Horace swore to not make that mistake again.
