Sanji laid back against the couch. He shook his hand as it ached. It felt like he has been writing since forever. He is mostly done with his list of people. Now it's Zoro's turn to write his invitations.
"Daddy!" Megumi wines. "It's past dinner." she says. Sanji looks over at the clock on the wall. It is well past dinner. He should have started on dinner minutes ago. He looks at Megumi as she lay on her back, her head hanging off the edge and her feet against the back of the couch.
"Sorry, what do you want to eat?" he asks with a smile. He was so focused on making the invitations that he lost track of time.
"I want chicken fingers with-" Megumi stops, she and Sanji look at each other as they hear a loud crashing sound. They knew it came from the room. Something happened with Zoro. He didn't know what to do, should he check on Zoro or give the man more space? If he bothers Zoro then he might anger the man, make him more upset than he already was. But if he waits to long then Zoro might never recover. "Will mommy be okay?" she asks sitting up, looking at Sanji for answers.
"I think so. I guess we just have to wait. Why don't you get all the things I need to make what you want." Sanji says giving Megumi a pat on the head. With a smile and nods she gets off the couch.
"I could that." she says excitedly.
"Thank you, I'll be back." he lays a kiss on her forehead. He gets up and goes to his room. He would love to give the man his space, more space but Megumi is worried, and from some research he's done on carriers and their children, Megumi may seem mildly worried now but from the books it says it could get worse. She'll get more and more worried about Zoro if he doesn't get better that she will also get sad. They will feed off each other's bad mood. It also hurts him to see his love so sad.
Sanji opens the door to see Zoro in the middle of the bed. The sheets taken off and laid against the wall. Zoro also has changed into different clothes. Also the computer desk of his in the corner of the room, or was in the corner, is broken. The computer and everything on it laid on the floor. Zoro sat in a ball on the bed. What happened?
"Zoro, are you okay? What happened?" Sanji asks walking in the room closing the door slightly. Zoro turns to him slowly, tears in his eyes, eyes a little putty and red from crying. He looks so broken, not like himself, it's heartbreaking.
"What do I do Sanji?" he asks like he's... lost.
"What do you mean? What happened?" Sanji gets closer, joining Zoro on the bed.
"Sensei is dead and then I learn that he... knew my father." Zoro started crying, again. Sanji frowned and pulled Zoro closer, into a hug.
"It's going to be okay? You can talk to me." Sanji tells him, wiping away the tears. He smiles at Zoro, then leans in to give him a kiss. Sanji pulls away shocking Zoro. "Did you throw up?" Sanji asks tasting it from the kiss with Zoro. The green haired man covers his mouth, just remembering that he did in fact throw up. Zoro looks away and curtly nods. Embarrassed to have to admit it.
"Yes, after I read the letter that was in the envelope." Zoro tells the blonde not able to meet his eyes. Sanji sighs.
"It's because you didn't eat lunch and dinner yesterday, and skipped breakfast and lunch today. Doesn't help that you are extremely stressed. I'm about to cook dinner, so come out." Sanji says, hoping he will listen.
Zoro nods. Sanji sighs. That's good, he needs something in his stomach, especially after he threw up what little he had. And maybe this will help Zoro think about something else, even for just an hour at least. Sanji gets up and waits for Zoro to follow him out to the kitchen. Megumi turns to them. She smiles, "mommy! You're out!" she hugs Zoro who picks her up. "I got everything out Daddy, did I miss anything?" she asks as Sanji looks at all the things she took out and left on the counter. He smiles as he gets a knife and cutting board out to start.
"No you didn't forget anything, the rest of what we need you can't reach yet." Sanji says as he starts cutting the chicken breast.
"I'll help." Zoro sets Megumi down.
"Me too." Megumi pushes a chair to the counter from the kitchen table. She climbed the chair stood on top awaiting her orders.
With the help of both Zoro and Megumi cooking dinner went by so fast. Good thing to, they started dinner late but finished around the time Sanji would have been done if he was by himself and started on time. As Sanji finished, Zoro and Megumi set their plates and cups. They sat down as Sanji came with the bowls and plates of their food. Chicken tenders with homemade fries, and a salad. Zoro and Megumi ate both starving, both stuffing their faces. Sanji watched with a smile, glad to see both of their moods better already.
As the two slowed down they started talking, of course about childish things. He is talking to Megumi, the blonde joined in too. Happy that Megumi was taking his mind off the envelope. Zoro seemed himself again.
After dinner they all washed the dishes and cleaned the living room. Sanji mentioned the invitation, not sure how the green haired man would react to that. Zoro says he'll do his half. Zoro and Megumi took a shower together. While they did that Sanji cleaned his room, throwing away the broken desk, putting the sheets and everything else Zoro might have thrown up on in the washer. When the two came out of the bath Megumi attached herself to Zoro. So much that she joined Zoro in bed. She asked, even pleaded to sleep next to him. Zoro gave in and laid in bed, making sure there is enough space for Sanji. The blonde took a quick shower entering the room as he dried his hair.
He saw that Megumi fell asleep holding onto Zoro like a life raft. Zoro looked around the room, seeing that the room is picked up and cleaned. Sanji slid in bed, on his side. Megumi sandwiched between them. "Sorry." Sanji turns to Zoro who looked guilty.
"For what?" the blonde asks genuinely curious on what he's apologizing for.
"You picked up the room, even cleaned up after my messes." Zoro looks down at Megumi's head laying just an inch above his stomach, her arm laying across his stomach.
"It's fine. What kind of husband would I be if I didn't help you where you need it?" Sanji rhetorically asks with a smile to Zoro. He really didn't mind. A lot has happened to Zoro, he's already got a lot on his mind, Sanji doesn't want to add to that. "Feeling better now?" Sanji asks. "I'm sure it's a shock to know your Sensei knew your father, and now they are both gone." Sanji says. That must suck, for his father to die when he's young so he can't remember his father's face, then he gets a surrogate father and older sister. Now they are both dead.
He could see it in Zoro's expression how upset this makes him.
"My father isn't dead."
