Four heroes stood against the man who saw himself as the new lord of the world: against the Creator. Charles barely survived his first attack, and now it would fall upon one of his friends to return fire. "Let me try something. My turn wont be half as fancy as yours was, Boss. But as long as one of us gets the job done, he can't complain!" Dharma gladly took over the mantle.

As Dharma's turn started, Cynet Backdoor resolved and returned Charles' Shootingcode Talker(2300/LINK 3) [Zone 4] to the field from the banished zone. "I hope you can get some use out of that monster at least, Dharma." Charles figured the cyber archer would not be that great a fit for her dragon-heavy deck. "Oh, well only in a cold clinical sense. Heheh. I summon the Paladin of Felgrand!" She started out with a warrior however: the blonde paladin(4/1700/300) [Zone 3] in silver armor. "See I think I only need one card for this confrontation! Felgrand himself!" The divine Paladin could equip one level 7 or 8 dragon from the deck to himself, and then tribute himself and another monster to special summon a level 7 or 8 Dragon from the graveyard. "I special summon the Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand!" Dharma gave him the Divine Dragon Lord as the equipment, and sacrificed himself along with Shootingcode Talker. "Heh. I see. Well, he is all yours." Charles would enjoy this. It'd been too long since they last dueled together.

The Divine Dragon Lord Felgrand(8/2800/2800) [Zone 3], once special summoned from the graveyard, would banish one monster on the field and increase its ATK and DEF by 200 for each level or rank on the banished monster. "Anyway, that was a nice story about your heroes and all.. and what with them working together with dragons. But even your fancy dragon has a lord to bow too!" Dharma targeted the Creator's World Chalice Guardragon Almarduke(9/3000/2600) [Extra Zone 2], and took all of its legacy power for himself(4600/4600). "I suppose it does. In the end my dragon is only as old as I am. People have imagined many dragons of their own with an even greater legacy. But can theirs endure?" The Creator could not deny that the dueling game itself existed before he did.

"Well we're about to find out! I've got another special dragon for this duel! Critias the Atlantian dragon!" Dharma activated the fusion spell: Fang of Critias. "I fuse Critias with Tyrant Wing the trap card! That makes him transform into Tyrant Burst Dragon!" On wings of golden light the dark scaled Critias(8/2900/2500) [Extra Zone 2] flew down, its trident tail pointed at the Creator's last few monsters. "Tyrant Burst can attack all monsters. But he can also equip himself to another monster to give that monster three attacks per turn and even more power!" Naturally Dharma attached her fusion Tyrant dragon to the Divine Felgrand(5000/5000), making its power rival that of the dragon gods. "Be careful, Blanche. He is not defenseless." Hydra cautioned his fellow duelist, not wanting her to forget the two face-down cards on his field. "Well I know that. But I can't not attack now. Felgrand! Your target is World Legacy Armor!" She would have to deal with the consequences as they showed up. She plunged into battle and declared the first of three attacks. Felgrand released a wide ray of golden energy and incinerated the World Legacy Armor.

"Huh?" Only for the remaining energy to bounce off of the duelist behind the destroyed monster. "His throne!" Crescent gasped. The Creator's throne had taken on another form; that of a great shield. "But I thought.. You mean he used a second skill?!" The skill blocked all damage done by Felgrand, the dragon of LIGHT, and wasted the entire battle phase. "I am the Creator of the seven. Of course I also created seven skills for myself. I can use all forms of the legacy during this duel.. and the shield with its dominion over color decides which element can touch me or not."

"But if you could use your skill every turn..." Crescent felt something weird was up. The Creator did not use His skill at all in Charles' first turn when he easily could have. "Then we have a big problem." Dharma drew a different more direct conclusion. She placed one spell card down as well and ended her turn.

-TURN 04-

"Do not feel bad. Of the many people to discover the item, you were one of the few to make it this far." The Creator began his turn by banishing the World Legacy Chalice from his graveyard, which allowed him to add with yet another spell of his legacy from the deck to his hand: World Legacy Survivor. "It is a shame that you never got to use the Ark or its powers however." As Dharma would already know, Survivor discarded the top five cards from the deck and added one Krawler or World Legacy card to the players hand. Of those five cards (World Legacy World Shield, World Legacy Sorrow, World Legacy World Ark, Orcust Harp Horror and World Legacy Trap Globe), he kept the final card.

"Well it almost would have been Hydra instead. What was up with that anyway? Why did we have to race for that item?" The blue-eyed duelist remembered how little sense it still made to her, from start to finish. "I wanted to see the very best of mankind to inherit my legacy, of course. The wand went to the best team, the crown to the sharpest mind, the shield.." The Creator sent Crescent a quick smile. "..to the one with the most perceptive eyes. The Ark was the same, it invited those that wanted to see the world...that was not affraid to soar far above the ceiling real life set out for them. This is why I am disappointed in all of you, you've touched divinity and you wish to return to normalcy? I do not understand why you would spurn me so. Perhaps it is hard for you to appreciate the story, since you only came in halfway. You faced Anders' crusade first, and he sadly was the weakest host of them all. He could not do my Crusadia justice."

The Creator called out a new warrior to bring back old nightmares: Crusadia Maximus the blonde cyber-armor knight(4/1600/1000) [Zone 4]. "The Crusadia were a very old clan in fact, comprised of various factions like fairies, knights and spellcasters." The Creator took Maximus and turned him into the first Crusadia link monster: the red-armor mage Crusadia Magius(100/LINK 1) {Down} [Extra Zone 1]. "Your deck has those cards too?" Charles only half-listened to the story and worried more about what these cards implied for the Creator's deck composition. "The World Chalice warriors actually learned about the existence of these tribes by using the records of a destroyed Krawler unit.." The Creator continued, activating his second trap: Crusadia Krawler. The trap became a purified Krawler monster(2/300/2100) [Zone 2] which Magius(400) pointed to. Every Crusadia link monster would gain the attackpower of its linked monsters. "Thus the two are connected! When Magius links with another monster, I can add one Crusadia card to my hand! When Crusadia Krawler links with a link monster, I can add one World Legacy card to my hand! I choose the item which the Crusadia reactivated as they began their march: World Legacy World Crown!" In addition to that item monster, He also claimed the Crusadia Draco monster from his deck with Magius' effect.

"This is bad. He's going to try to one hit kill you!" Charles cried out. He recognized each and every step of this deadly combo. "You cannot save her now, Charles! I link summon Crusadia Regulex!" Crusadia Krawler and Crusadia Magius became the link materials for the crusader from the beast tribe: Regulex the fire-maned white lion(1000/LINK 2) {Up/Down}. "Behold, the avatar of the Crown!" Not only could all main deck Crusadia monsters be special summoned if they linked with a link monster, the World Legacy World Crown(6/2000/0) [Zone 2] also possessed that ability. Regulex(3000 atk) itself would add one Crusadia spell card (Crusadia Testament) from the deck to the hand if it managed to establish a link, and also gained the attackpoints of its linked monsters. "And now I link summon Crusadia Equimax!" His next link summon took the World Crown and Regulex and turned them into the centaur knight Equimax(2000/LINK 3) {Downleft/Up/Downright} [Extra Zone 1]. Thanks to its markers, the Creator could special summon the Crusadia Draco(4/600/2000) [Zone 1].

"Draco?" Now finally both Dharma and Charles recognized that particular monster as an armored enhanced version of Imduk the Chalice dragon. "Yes, even the dragons joined this crusade. And each added member made them more equipped to handle their enemies.." Crusadia Draco added one Crusadia monster from the graveyard to the hand upon summon, which made Him put the Crusadia Maximus in his hand. He special summoned that crusader[Zone 3] to the other linked zone. Equimax(4200 atk) still did not have enough power to destroy Felgrand however. "Hmm." He did not feel satisfied regardless, not with a repeat of Anders' limited display. Instead he used Draco as a link material for another Crusadia Magius(100/LINK 1) [Zone 1]. "What is he up too now?" Dharma wondered. "You are about to gind out. My previous Crusaders could be link summoned with just one Crusadia among the link materials. But their ultimate form requires two link materials special summoned from the extra deck. His name is Mekk Knight Crusadia Avramax!"

"A Mekk Knight!?" Naturally that name gave Crescent quite a shock. At the same time she did not feel surprised, since she'd always known that Avram had a connection with the Mekk Knights due to the cards in her own deck. "Yes, Auram joined the Mekk Knights. They were first seen as another enemy, but they were only trying to do what was right. We are skipping ahead in the story a bit, but eventually Auram became Avram with the power of the World Key. This is his new form." The Mekk knight Crusader(3000/LINK 4) {Left/Downleft/Right/Downright} [Extra Zone 1] bore the matured face of Auram, but his hair glowed bright and blue. He wore cybernetic luminous armor with a wing, blue cape. Even his typing changed into that of cyberse. "But.. what do these names mean to you? Auram, Ib, Ningirsu.. who were they?" Crescent still wondered, as a lot of stories drew inspiration from real life. "Just friends, from a previous life. The best writers draw inspiration from their own past... A link summoned Avramax cannot be targeted by my opponent's effects! But it can be targeted by mine! Including my skills! Behold the third legacy item! The lance which creates an illusion of my monster!" The throne of the world shifted once again, shooting a lance into the back of Avramax to craft a doppelganger of the same light.

"A double attack?" Dharma winced. That would not be only thing to double up on her. Crusadia Maximus used its own power, giving Avramax the ability to double the damage done to another monster. No other monster could attack this turn however. "When Avramax battles a special summoned monster, it gains that monsters attackpoints!" Eager to demonstrate this power, the Creator sent Avramax into battle. The Mekk crusader(8000 atk) plunged his cybernetic sword deep into the heart of Felgrand, and let electric light explode outwards in every direction. Madam Blanche took a bolt straight to the gut and lost 3000 lifepoints twice. "Guh. So that's the big idea huh." The follow-up direct attack could finish her off, or Charles Adami. They were both at his mercy.

"Well, I've got bad news then! When I take damage, I can special summon Mahaama the Fairy Dragon! And you basically take damage equal to what you gave me! Because even if there is one less of us, there will always be one of you!" With a shivering hand Dharma placed down her newest white dragon: a pristine armored serpent(5/0/2500) [Zone 5] with four goldfeathered wings. Mahaama could either heal or do damage. But even if it meant losing the duel eventually, she could not pass up this chance and blasted the Creator with 2000 points of effect damage. "Guess your fancy shield could not defend against that!"

"Hahah. Admirable. That you would be the first one to touch me, is not something I expected." The Creator took the massive loss in life in stride, surprising Dharma. "But I also care less about defeating a single enemy, not if it costs me the whole duel. My story still needs to be finished." His activated quickplay spell probably had something to do with that. "I activated Crusadia Testament. Since my Crusadia monster destroyed your monster, I can draw cards equal to its link rating." He pulled an intimidating quartet of cards out of his deck all at once. "Hey.. does that deck ever bottom out? Or your extra deck for instance?" At this rate, Dharma figured he would be losing the duel due to deckout before his last lifepoint disappeared. "I have my methods to prevent that. What kind of duel.. what kind of story would end with an unsatisfying climax like that?" He used the second attack of Avramax to destroy Mahaama. "I dunno. Nakana got away with it pretty nicely." The white dragon duelist countered. "That was then. This is now. This ends the way I want it to end." The Creator placed three trap cards down on his field again and ended the turn.

-TURN 05-

"Huh. Why does it feel like I got on his nerves there." Dharma mumbled to herself. "I wonder if he even still has nerves." Charles grumbled along with her. Everything this man said rubbed him the wrong way. "He must have.. Not literally I mean. But he still feels... like us." Crescent gave her own assessment. Though she did not know if it would help them in this confrontation. His dueling seemed flawless, he could easily keep up with two enemies at a time.. and now a third would join the fight actively.

"He still has weaknesses." Hydra would take that third turn. "For one thing, even if his skill can be reused over and over.. they have to alternate." The crown would not work against anything summoned this turn, the lance would not be useful at all. The shield however posed a problem, since everyone but Charles typically ran one attribute. "I think I know how to get around them. Though it will take a while to get there." Thanks to Fantazmay's effect, his hand looked almost perfect now. He revealed two cards at once: Gateway Dragon(4/1600/1400) [Zone 2] and Shelrokket Dragon(4/1100/2000) [Zone 3]. "Since you control a link monster, I can special summon Gateway.. and Gateway can special summon my lowlevel dragon from the hand as well." He'd planned this entire turn out in his head, but this next move took no forethought at all. "Striker Dragon!" He turned his level 4 or lower dragon, Gateway Dragon, into the blue trigger-monster Striker Dragon(1000/LINk 1) {Down} and activated its effect to add the Boot Sector Launch from the deck to his field.

"You just wanna show off, I bet." Dharma smirked. "Perhaps. I wish I could be as precise as you, but some things are not meant to be." Hydra then performed a summon he did not often get to do, a tribute summon. He sacrificed Striker Dragon and replaced it with a mechanical yellow dragon with green glass claws, six energy wings and two missile launchers strapped to its back. "This is Speedburst dragon. When it's normal summoned, I can add two Rokket monsters from the deck to my hand!" He filled up his chamber as it were, with the burning and chrome bullets of Exploderokket and Shelrokket Dragon. And as soon as he activated his field spell, Boot Sector Launch, he could special summon both Rokket Dragons from the graveyard to his field. Silverrokket(2200/400), Exploderokket(7/2300/2300) [Zone 1] and Metalrokket(4/2000/1700) [Zone 2] all gained 300 attack and defense points from that same field spell as well, as they were both Rokket monsters. "I will use two Rokket Dragons as link materials for Booster Dragon!" Exploderokket and Metalrokket would be the fortunate bullets, melding together in a linking pot and coming out as the metallic and gun-headed Booster Dragon(1900/LINK 2) {Downleft/Downright} [Extra Zone 2]

"Your Crusadia Mekk Knight cannot be targeted you said. But the Booster Dragon does not have to target your monster. It can make one of my monsters stronger. But you know what happens when a link monster targets a Rokket dragon!" With the help of the Borrel Regenerator equip spell, Hydra could reload his field by special summoning Metalrokket Dragon [Zone 2] back to the field, right in front of Avramax. "When Metalrokket is targeted, it will selfdestruct and take one other monster down with it thats in the same column!" The Booster Dragon set the chain reaction in motion, adding 500 attackpoints to Metalrokket in order to absorb the bullet into the chamber and fire it against Avramax.. piercing him right through the heart. And since Borrel Regenerator lost its equipped monster due to a destruction effect, Hydra could draw one new card as well.

"A neat trick. But mere bullets can no longer harm us. When Avramax dies because of its enemies, it will send one card on the field back into the deck." The Creator pointed an open palm towards Booster Dragon. Hydra however would act before that could happen.

"Hey Hydra. Why didn't you use Exploderokket Dragon instead?" To Charles it seemed far more logical to fire the bullet that inflicted 2000 points of damage. "Because Exploderokket Dragon inflicts the damage to all of us, Charles. It would kill you and Blanche at the same time and he could have a dozen traps or skill forms to nullify his own effect damage. I cannot take that risk." Hydra's answer came surprisingly quick. "Oh. I feel like Blanche and me would have been willing to take that chance. But I can see your point." Charles at the very least appreciated his thoughtfulness. "Do not thank me yet. Besides, I have plenty of options that will only do unilateral damage. When I control a Rokket Dragon, I can special summon Absorouter Dragon from my hand. And I can use its effect to add another Rokket Dragon to my hand, if it is used as a link material!" Absorouter the metal-cased dragon(7/1200/2800) appeared in the shadow of Silverrokket Dragon, releasing a broken electronic roar. "Silverrokket Dragon, Speedburst Dragon! Absorouter Dragon! Attack!"

"A simple attack? Now you are trying to ruin a good game." The Creator looked on scornfully as Absorouter Dragon used a laser beam to kill his defending Crusadia Maximus. "I activate World Legacy Landmark! I banish one World Legacy monster in my hand to special summon two monsters from my graveyard!" The Creator laughed as he removed the World Legacy World Lance from his own hand, and sprung both a defending World Legacy World Armor(7/2500/2500) [Zone 2] and Mekk Knight Crusadia Avramax [Zone 4] from the graveyard. "World Armor's effect reactivates! I claim one World Legacy card from my deck!" Already He gave an omen of things to come, by claiming the World Legacy Succession spell card from his deck. "The Mekk knights are next." Crescent realized.

"If there is a next turn." Hydra called off his attack and moved to the second main phase. "I knew a battle phase would not end this. Heck, a victory like that wont even satisfy me. No I have something grander planned.." Silverrokket and Absorouter blasted off into a link circuit. "One rokket dragon and one other dragon, those are the link materials for Quadborrel Dragon!" The swan-off shotgun winged Quadborrel(1000/LINK 2) {Right/Down} [Extra Zone 1] swooped on out of the extra deck and pointed both barrels at Avramax. "Quadborrel Dragon takes one card from my hand, and picks one card to destroy. I cannot summon any other Link two monster during this turn afterwards, but... If I destroy a link monster, he will count its link rating to summon the same number of Rokket Dragons!" Hydra discarded the Rokket Tracer Dragon which he added to his hand previously when Absorouter Dragon left the field. "That's right, Creator. I wanted you to bring Avramax back!" He gave the Mekk Kight the full quadbarrel salvo, breaking it off into pieces again.. Those pieces regenerated into four Rokkets: Silverrokket[Zone 5], Metalrokket[Zone 4], Rokket Tracer(4/1900/1300)[Zone 3] and Exploderokket[Zone 1].

"Now the fun really begins! I link summon Vorticular Drumgon!" Metal, Silver and Exploderokket poured together as three dragon link materials for the magazine drum-headed Vorticular dragon(1000/LINK 3) {Left/Down/Right} [Zone 1]. Its effect allowed Hydra to draw one card, but he could not use any empty zones right next to the Drumgon. "Rokket Tracer destroys one card on the field, to special summon another Rokket monster from my deck!" The materials kept coming. By breaking his own field spell, Boot Sector Launch, the Rokket tuner shot a new bullet into the field which transformed back into a dragon: Shelrokket Dragon(1100/2000) [Zone 4]. And since he summoned a dragon, he could now also special summon Noctivision Dragon the night spy dragon(7/0/2800) [Zone 5] from his hand. "I link summon Dillingerous Dragon and Borrelguard Dragon!" Another continuous circuit opened, taking in Speedburst Dragon and Noctivision Dragon to form the purple gunhand dragon Dillingerous(1600/LINK 2) {Up/Down} [Zone 2]. Noctivision even drawing one new card since it turned into a link material. Shelrokket Dragon, Dillingerous Dragon and Exploderokket then all came together into one diabolic red package: the extra-plated Borrelsword Dragon(3000/LINK 4) {Down/Up/Right/Downright} [Zone 2].

"Hey Hydra. You do know which card I set, right?" Dharma was starting to see where all this led, due to this specific Borrel summon. "Of course, Dharma. I was about to get to it!" The invisible duelist could of course tell that the trap set down on their shared field, was not a trap at all. "I activate Guardragon Legacy to special summon one level four or lower dragon from the graveyard!" He used this continuous spell to resurrect Metalrokket Dragon(1700/1400) [Zone 4] again. At the same time Dillingerous Dragon[Zone 3] returned, as it could always be special summoned from the grave if a Rokket appeared on the field. "Link summon! Borrelsword Dragon!" This time Dillingerous paired up with Rokket Tracer and Metalrokket Dragon in order to create the sword-armed Borrel dragon counterpart: Borrelsword Dragon(3000/LINK 4) {Left/Downleft/Up/Down} [Zone 3].

"You're using my own cards? You honor me." The Creator smirked. "Nothing here is meant to honor you, Creator. Nothing of what I do at least. I see now that everything you've built is for the sake of your own gratification. Your legacy is selfserving! If it takes your cards to undo it all, so be it!" Hydra also activated the other effect of the continuous Guardragon Legacy spell, moving Borrelsword Dragon[Zone 4] to another main zone. "Borrelguard sends one spell or trap card to my graveyard, and special summons one monster that was destroyed this turn. That being, Mekk Knight Avramax!" A spray of gunfire layed waste to Guardragon Legacy. He did not need that spell anymore, both Borrelsword{Left/Downleft/Up/Down} and Borrelguard {Down/Up/Right/Downright} would gladly link with a revived Avramax {Left/Downleft/Right/Downright} [Zone 3]. "An extra link again? You already know such tricks cannot contain me." Even the Creator could see Hydra's goals now. "The extra link wont be the end, Creator. Just a means towards one." Hydra activated his last spell, Quick Launch, to special summon one more Rokket Dragon, Autorokket Dragon(4/1600/1000) [Zone 5] from his deck. "I link summon Topologic Gumblar Dragon!"

"Aha! I knew it!" Dharma cried out. "What is this?" Charles never got the chance to see this card in action. Gumblar Dragon took Vorticular Drumgon and Autorokket Dragon as link materials and revealed its true form of the white cyberse dragon(3000/LINK 4) {Left/Up/Down/Right} [Extra Zone 2] in blue mechanical armor. Thanks to the co-link chain which Quadborrel Dragon{Down/Right} started, Gumblar Dragon could claim the second extra monster zone. "Gumblar has a special effect for when it's extra linked! He forces my opponent to discard up to two cards! And then he takes 3000 points of damage!" The four horn like wings which extended from the Dragons back started to build up energy which looped between the four points like an infinity symbol. The light became so strong that it evaporated the World Legacy Succession card in the Creator's hand. "This is what I meant, Creator!" Gumblar Dragon came after Him next, unleashing its full deadly power.

"What?" Except the Creator's life shot up just before the damage connected. "The skill?" The throne of the world assumed its fourth form: that of a cup filled with golden healing water. It brought him back to full just in time. "No matter how close you think you are, you can never reach me.. Hydra. As long as all of life stands behind me, I cannot die. I am the god of thought."

"The god of thought? You are nothing more than a parasite." Hydra scoffed. "What is that?!" The Creator shouted while lightning boomed across the obsidian skies. "The truth, Creator. You have lost everything that made you human.. including your own name. Instead you now believe yourself to be a god who should rule over us lowly commoners. But you only have this much power because you feed on us, and our devotion. You're trying to replace the idol of worship in everyone's mind, whether that be the father or the mother or God themselves. That is what your legacy is all about, your games and trials. We were supposed to be obsessed with your mysteries and powers.. the more we think about you, the stronger you become. But I can see through it all now, Creator. You're true nature came out as soon as you started this duel: you are just a petty man who is upset that his toys are not playing along. Well we are not your toys anymore, Creator. This will be your last game.." Hydra placed a card face down, and ended his turn.

Though the obsidian world seemed to go on endlessly, those who were not dueling the Creator could not see him either. That included Midsummer Nightmare, who'd left the heroes for Echo's sake. He wanted so desperately to aid her, yet her battle with Continuum did not have an end in sight yet. For each chaos drone she destroyed, one more popped up. And she could not keep up forever, not with her cut off from the rest of the world. "Midsummer. You do not have to suffer this helplessness." But it was in between the inflow of Continuum attacks, that Miss Echo managed to speak to the unmasked duelist. "There is something you can do." She tossed him the orb of memories. "What? What is it?" He would do anything. "Ascend the obelisk, and place these memories in their core." The lady implored. "I see. But what will that do?" With Lilah holding Scarlet Fever off, nobody could stop him. Still he wished to understand her desire. "One thing.. it will give everything Continuum stole.. back to me. Only then, will I finally be able to annihilate It."
