World 117: Heaven Decides the Outcome

"Fredrick Muller. Your words hurt me." The Creator said with a grimace. "Everything I did, I did for you as well. Even this duel was for your sakes, a reward for your efforts. If you will not appreciate me, then I see no need to appreciate you in return. And if the world will not appreciate me, then it just means that they are too nearsighted to see past their own lives. They refuse to step out of their own shadows, unless I drag them out! This story is still written by me! I have held back the tide of true evil, now you will bear their darkness! The Orcust.. and the Knightmares. A great tragedy befell the heroes, forcing them to disband. In his desperation, Ningirsu sought a way to undo the damage and he created the Orcust with technology stolen from the Mekk Knights! I activate World Legacy's Memory! And special summon Girsu the Orcust Mekk Knight from my deck!" One set card flipped before the next turn began, revealing a gold and silver lance-wielding mechanoid(4/1800/0) [Zone 5]. Its effect allowed the Creator to send one Orcust monster (Orcust Harp Horror) from his deck to the graveyard.
-TURN 06-
As the next turn started, the Mekk Knight monster summoned by the Memory spell returned to the hand. But the Creator could now banish Orcust Harp Horror from the graveyard, which let him special summon an Orcust Cymbal Skeleton(3/1200/1500) [Zone 4] from the deck. "The tragedy should have been obvious to you, had you payed attention to my cards." The Creator cried out, sending his questions into the crowd. "The tragedy? Is this.. what happened to Ib?" Only Crescent responded. "Yes. You of all people would notice. Though Veyron came close as well. A troubled life makes for a more sympathetic perspective. And what is more troubled than losing one's loved ones?!" The Creator revealed another one of his face-down cards. "Trap card! World Legacy Trap Globe! It returns five World Legacy cards from the graveyard to my deck to draw two new cards!" The Creator did some more remodeling of the living and dead: shuffling World Legacy World Ark, World Key, Memory, Survivor and Succession re-entered the deck, and two new cards left it.
The first was the quickplay Burial From Another Dimension spell, which returned three banished cards (World Key Blademaster Lib, World Chalice Blademaster Ningirsu and World Chalice Dragon Imduk) to the graveyard. "Spell card! World Legacy Key! I add one banished World Legacy monster back to my hand!" The second was a continuous spell. The Key returned the banished World Legacy World Shield to his hand, but this continuous spell did a little bit more than that. No traps could be activated while a Mekk Knight appeared in the same column as that trap. "These cards show that part of the story. But greater darkness awaited her. She was betrayed by her own friend." There she came, the very same girl that formed the heart of Ezra's deck: Knightmare Corruptor Iblee(2/0/0) [Zone 1]. Like in those duels she used her effect force a dead link monster, Lib the Blademaster(0/LINK 2) {Left/Up} [Zone 2] to link with her back on the field. Libs powers were however negated.
"That is why.. Lee fused with Ib and turned into Iblee. And then she turned into.." Charles finally saw the connection between the two cards as well now. "But why? Why did you make that story? Were you betrayed? Or is this about Echo? Is that the reason why she believed she was just a normal girl, because you wrote this story for her?" He also recalled the final stage that Lee would evolve into; the Orcust automaton Galatea. Trying to save the life of one girl by putting her mind into a machine: it all sounded rather familiar. "This story was meant for all of us. The more you envision it, the more it becomes ingrained in your mind. The more He becomes ingrained in our mind. He feeds on our thoughts and dreams, the same thoughts that shape STHEREA."
"Not just the dreams, Hydra. Appear, Knightmare Cerberus!" Knightmares took any two differently named monsters as materials. The Creator took Cymbal Skeleton away, along with the World Legacy World Armor(7/2500/2500) [Zone 3] still on his field. "Hydra, your extra link is flawed! Gumblar Dragon marks one of my zones as well! And its effect does not activate unless you have cards in your hand!" It would all begin here. The link summoned Knightmare Cerberus(1600/LINK 2) {Left/Up} [Zone 4] formed a co-link with the Gumblar Dragon(3000/LINK 4) {Left/Up/Down/Right} [Extra Zone 2], which would be followed up by Cerberus discarding one card, Orcust Mekk Knight Girsu, and destroying one monster on the field. However the Creator quickly banished Orcust Cymbal Skeleton from his graveyard in order to summon the Orcust Mekk Knight[Zone 5] back to his field in attack position.
"First the left!" The three-headed hellhound targeted the Topologic Dragon one with a trinity of hellflames to purge the first extra monster zone of interference. Since Knightmare Cerberus was co-linked, its master could draw another card right afterwards. "Then the middle! Return to me, Avramax!" He also reawakened the power of the World Throne, shifting the skill into its Crown form again to take control of Mekk Knight Crusadia Avramax(3000/LINK 4) {Left/Downleft/Right/Downright} [Zone 3], placing it right in the middle where it could start up its own co-links. "And finally the right! Appear, Knightmare Unicorn!" Girsu and Blademaster Lib performed the second link summon, creating the glowing golden Unicorn(2200/LINK 3) {Left/Down/Right} [Zone 2] who could return one card on the field to the deck by discarding a card (World Legacy - World Shield) of their own. It removed Quadborrel Dragon(1000/LINK 2) [Extra Zone 1] from the other side of the not-so-extra-anymore link, and drew a new card since it now co-linked with Avramax {Left/Downleft/Right/Downright}.
"You're going after your own extra link, aren't you?" Dharma accused him. "All great ideas come back to me. I created them, and I can claim their results." The Creator used Iblee now as a link material for the crystalline Mermaid Knightmare(1000/LINK 1) {Down} [Extra Zone 2], whose effect drained 1000 attackpoints from all unlinked monsters. A status that Borrelsword Dragon(2000/LINK 4) [Zone 4] and and Borrelguard Dragon(2000/LINK 4) [Zone 2] now shared. The Mermaid could also, after another discard and draw, special summon one Knightmare monster from the deck. "Yes, Ningirsu tried to reawaken his sister inside the body of Galatea. But it was not meant to be. The corruption of Lee persisted even after her death! Galatea became the Orcust Knightmare!" Before the duelists only caught a glimpse. Now they could see the true terror cracking through the metallic body of the former automaton(7/100/2000) [Zone 1]. Knightmare Orcust's left arm mutated into a blackened scythe, while her right arm split into several branching black and gold claws. One glowing red eye and a wide grin appeared behind the cracked faceplate of the robotic girl.
"Appear, Knightmare Gryphon!" The Knightmare kept going, as the Unicorn linked up with the corrupted Orcust and transformed into the gryphon(2500/LINK 4) {Left/Up/Down/Right} [Zone 2] of the night. Its effect placed one spell or trap card in the graveyard back down on the field.. the World Legacy Reassembly trap discarded by the Mermaid earlier. That card could not be activated this turn however. "Now. Behold my great link. When this duel began I activated the World Legacy.." The Creator pointed towards his first continuous spell. "Each time a level five or higher monster left the field, it gained one counter. One for each item. Now there are seven counters... which allows me to summon one cyberse link monster from my extra deck! Appear, Spectrum Supreme!"
"Ah!?" Crescent on some level knew she would have had to face her own cards eventually. Yet she could not have prepared for how it felt, when the World Legacy turned its seven counters into seven rays of light which mingled into a bridge made from a rainbow. Spectrum Supreme the ultimate Mekk Knight(3000/LINK 3) {Downleft/Down/Right} [Extra Zone 1] descended above the Knightmare Gryphon, completing the extra link which started with Knightmare Mermaid. "Mekk Knights and Knightmares, Orcusts and Krawlers; they were all opposed in the end. Hm. It does not really fit to set these cards next to each other. No. But I can banish World Legacy World Wand from my graveyard to special summon one Orcust monster that is banished! I will use that monster, to create the Orcusts ultimate weapon!" The World Wand released the Harp Horror(4/1700/1400) back into the world, which in turn linked up with Spectrum Supreme. As shocked as she was before, Crescent felt even worse when she saw the Mekk Knight become nothing more than a link material for the golden organ terror Orcustrion(3000/LINK 4) {Downleft/Down/Up/UpLeft}.
"Now. You dared to insult all of this great work. This legacy. You will be the first to suffer for your blasphemy, Hydra." The Creator now banished his Orcust Knightmare. Doing so would discard one DARK machine monster from the deck, and add 100 attackpoints to another monster for each of its levels. He sent the World Legacy World Lance with its 8 levels, and added the 800 attackpoints to Knightmare Gryphon(3300 atk) The effects of Crusadia Avramax were sealed by the Crown and it could not attack. Orcustrion on the other hand could return three banished machines (World Legacy World Wand, Orcust Cymbal Skeleton and Orcust Knightmare) to the deck to drain the attackpoints of Hydra's linked link monsters. The empowered Gryphon and Orcust organ machine made quick work of both Borrelguard(0 atk) and Borrelsword Dragon(0 atk). "Farewell, mister Muller." Knightmare Cerberus and Knightmare Mermaid finished the dragon duelist off with their direct attacks of hellish flame and liquid glass.
Hydra's LP: 0
"Hydra!" Dharma yelled. "Heh. Don't worry about me, Blanche. I did the best I could do, and I could not ask for more." Hydra smiled back at her, and waited for the effects of his loss to become evident. The mark of the shield faded from his hand... and flowed back into the Creator's throne. "I am not very good at goodbyes, but I am sure we will see each other again. You have everything you need to make sure of that." Without the Legacy's blessing, he could not stay here anymore. "No!" Dharma watched with horror as the duelist sank into the obsidian ground and his expression turned blank at the very last second. "What did you do?"
"I merely sent him back to the old world, where his memories are will be cleansed by the seven obelisks. I see now that I will need to purge a lot of memories before I can make my new world. It is too late for him, but you still have a chance to submit to me." He placed one more trap card down behind Knightmare Gryphon and ended his turn. "Submit? Like hell we will! Why did you have to take him out first! We were just as defenseless!" Charles Adami cursed. His turn would come up again much sooner than Hydra's, so he wanted to be the one who took the fatal blows.
-TURN 07-
"It doesn't matter, Adami. No matter who he defeats, one of us will always have the next turn." But first Crescent's turn would come. "One of us will always be there to keep fighting." She normal summoned Mekk Knight Avram(4/2000/0) [Zone 3] the blonde dual wielding paladin. And she placed him right in front of his upgraded opponent: Avramax. "Ha! So you did accept my cards! Yes. This is perfect. The Mekk Knights against the Orcust and Knightmares: it will be a glorious final stand!" The Creator clearly looked forward to her actions the most. "I did not choose these cards to make you happy, mister Creator. I chose them because I knew from experience that they could handle your kind of power better than my Weathery monsters." The situation did look dire. Knightmare Gryphon negated the effects of all unlinked special summoned monsters while Knightmare Cerberus protected all co-linked monsters from destructive effects. Plus there were still two unknown trap cards on his side of the field. "We are not just pawns for you to throw away, we are not just people who say what you tell us to say or look like you want us to look. And You will not have the last word." They did not have protection against targeting effects however, and this would not be the first time Crescent dealt with a living nightmare.
"I discard Wattkinetic Puppeteer, and switch Knightmare Mermaid away." To start with she already possessed a lot of column rearranging cards like her psychic puppetmaster. Once the Mermaid switched away from the extra monster zone, she(0 atk) [Zone 5] became a victim of her own unlinked-powerdraining effect. "Deja vu." That same move proved very effective against Ezra too, Charles realized. "That was when I had only begun to understand what these cards could do." Crescent intended much more for this turn. She activated her own World Legacy's Memory spell and special summoned the crescent-scythed Mekk Knight Indigo Eclipse(8/2400/2400) [Zone 3] "And Link summon Mekk Knight of the Morning Star!" With the extra monster zone now exposed, she could give her Mekk Knights their role as link materials for the faceless and flame-sword wielding mechanical knight(2000/LINK 2) {Downleft/Downright} [Extra Zone 2]. Since it linked up with Knightmare Cerberus, Morning Star could activate its effect to discard one Mekk Knight (Yellow Star) to add one World Legacy card (Scars) from the deck to her hand.
"Scars. Maybe that is a good word, to explain how I felt after everything you did.." Crescent activated the field spell, World Legacy Scars. All Mekk Knights like Morning Star(2300 atk) would now gain 300 attack and defense points. "You gave me purpose, but it was for nothing.. for a hollow tomorrow. I thought the world revolved around you, this world. But it goes on in spite of you. The night falls without you." Even if they had not been his own creations, the Creator would likely have understood that she could now special summon her Mekk Knights to any column with two cards in it already. She placed the silver and purple cloaked Purple Nightfall Mekk Knight(8/2800/2300) [Zone 5] down in front of Orcustrion and Knightmare Gryphon, linking it with the former. "And it fades." Nightfall activated its own effect, removing itself from the field for one turn to add another Mekk Knight(Blue Sky) from the deck to the hand. "Into a clear sky." Crescent special summoned the blue skied Mekk Knight twin swordsman(5/2300/2800). Its effect added two more Mekk Knights from the deck (Green Horizon and Red Moon) to her hand: one for each card in the opponents column.
"You are wrong Crescent. I moved you to where you are now. Without me Wagner would not have become a better man. Without me, you would not have opened yourself up to the world. You owe it all to me." The Creator claimed with no small manner of pride. "But he had to be hurt so many times to get there! Because of your legacy! We were lied to. Improvement.. friends.. they should not need pain to prosper." Crescent used the active effect of World Legacy Scars, discarding one Mekk Knight card (Green Horizon) to draw another. "You say someone always needs to suffer to make for a better story, but how is that fair to them? Do you even see a difference between us.. and people like Ib or Auram?" Crescent activated her next rather reflective card, World Legacy Key [Zone 4]. For her she let the continuous spell return a banished Mekk Knight to her hand: Purple Nightfall. She quickly discarded him however, by activating the Trade In spell and drawing two new cards afterwards. "You are wrong! Your way of living is wrong! It has to stop!"
"I link summon Spectrum Supreme!" Her opponent discarded the seven colors, but she would not. The Morning Star and Blue Sky came together to open a prismatic link circuit which released the ultimate Mekk Knight(3300/LINK 3) {Downleft/Down/Downright} [Extra Zone 2] from the extra deck. "Spectrum sends one card in its column to the graveyard, and special summons another Mekk Knight in defense!" World Legacy Key faced the end at the hand of supreme knight, who traded the spell in for a color Crescent never got around to paint with before. "I special summon Mekk Knight Orange Sunset!" The psychic knight(6/1100/3300) [Zone 1] of the dusk hour carried two large fanged shields on both his arms and orange symbols glowed on his silver armor. At the same time she special summoned the axe-wielding Mekk Knight(7/2600/2900) [Zone 2] of the red moonlight from her hand to the column with Orcustrion in it, since it still contained two cards. "Red Moon! Attack Knightmare Mermaid and Knightmare Gryphon!" No blood flowed this night, but Red Moon's axe did manage to shatter the crystal body of the Mermaid.

"You cannot win, Crescent Aurora." The Creator could always reactivate his World Throne if his lifepoints ever got low enough. "I can lose. But so can you.. When a monster inside Orange Sunset's column is destroyed, I can special summon one Mekk Knight from my hand. Darkness falls again." Aurora special summoned another Mekk Knight Indigo Eclipse(8/2700/2700) [Zone 1], which she drew with the help of Trade In. "Nightfall, Spectrum Supreme! Attack the Knightmares!" The nightmare hellhound Cerberus lost all three of its heads at once with a slice from the sickle-bladed Mekk knight. The supreme knight composed of all seven Mekk weapons chose that same scythe type to tear Knightmare Gryphon apart and reduced it to mere smoke. Two cards remained: the strongest two.

Not for long however, as Red Moon could destroy one card in front of it by banishing a Mekk Knight from the graveyard. "Red Moon! Destroy Orcustrion.. and Avramax!" Crescent combined this effect with that of Mekk Knight Indigo Eclipse who could switch a Mekk Knight's position once a turn. Red Moon first banished the first Mekk Knight Indigo Eclipse to burn down the Orcustrion in its original column. Then, once it moved one column to the right, Red Moon[Zone 3] banished Mekk Knight Avram... so that it could help bring down its Mechanized future Avramax self. "Well done, splendid. But ultimately pointless, my dear." The Creator seemed to be sincerely congratulating her. But his applause rang just as hollow as everything else he uttered. And he undid all of her hard work anyway, reactivating the World Chalice to reset his lifepoints back up to the maximum amount.

"You already knew that this is not where it ends. But you also knew that this is not where I end. You created this field spell, and you created its final power." Crescent shook her head. "If I banish eight different Mekk Knights from my graveyard or field, I can send all cards in your hand and extra deck to the graveyard. I have been counting the cards you link summoned and fusion summoned so far, your extra deck does not seem to ever run out. That is because you activated your skill at the start of this duel already." Aurora stared at her opponent with her penetrating gaze. He refused to answer her, though he did not have to. "This ends now." She would paint the answer herself: Mekk Knights Morningstar, Blue Sky, Green Horizon, Yellow Star, Orange Sunset, Red Moon, Purple Nightfall and Indigo Eclipse. Every last one disappeared into another dimension, leaving only the Spectrum Supreme alive to observe the annihilation of the Creator's resources. But in return, Crescent Aurora managed to reveal the first form of the world throne.
World Throne - Ark Form, Skill Card
Activate at the start of the duel. For the rest of the duel you can summon monsters that are not in your extra deck.
"What, you had that skill all along? Cheater!" Dharma started hollering. "How did we not.. Oh!" Charles also remembered how the Creator summoned his throne at the very start of the duel. "That was the form of the ark? The throne you sit on?" He'd simply not told them that he was actually activating a skill card at that moment. "Well the secret is out now, Creator!" He had to reveal the skill now, to explain why he could keep using extra deck monsters despite his empty extra deck.
-TURN 08-
"That is because my story cannot end, until all elements have been used." The Creator powered his skill down again. "But both our stories are almost done now.. It all came to a head. The final confrontation. All of this started because of one entity's list for power. Lee. Even after she was driven from Ib's body and Ib got revived by the power of the World Key, Lee still spread more corruption. It got to the point where she even took over the Guardragons. Observe, this is Mardark the World Legacy Guardragon." The Creator banished two normal monsters to bring his next monster out, a blackened demonic version of the chalice dragon(9/2600/3000) [Zone 3]. Its heart had been carved out and replaced with a mechanical green energy core. "And in turn Lee used the darkness gathered to transform herself as well, becoming Idlee the Knightmare's true Incarnation! And with that power she reawakened even the terror buried deep within the earth's nervous system!" Now that he controlled one level 9 monster, he could flip the World Legacy Monstrosity spell to special summon two more. Those monsters were the golden god Krawler Deux-X(9/2000/3000) [Zone 2] and the demonic serpentwoman Idlee(9/2100/2100) [Zone 4] with her nightmare-spirit hair.
"But in this darkest hour, the heroes' hopes called upon earth's last weapon! I link summon World Gears of Theurlogical Demiurgy! Its materials are three level five or higher monsters!" The WIND Dragon Mardark, the DARK Fiend Idlee and the EARTH Insect Deus-X were purged from the field, for their master demanded a new power. Their different elements compressed into one pure white orb(3500/LINK 3) {Left/Down/Right} [Extra Zone 1] that glowed like the sun itself. Various elements orbited this star entity: two thin rings of energy, two spiral-coiled ribbons of light and two metallic half bracelets embedded with gems colored gems. "Is that... all Legacy items combined?" Crescent counted one color for each item. "It is. The World Gears has the power to bring about the destruction and recreation of worlds. Just like what I intend to do with your world. I can see now that I was a fool to try and perfect the old, too many flaws exist. To craft the perfect story, I must erase everything that came before! I will start here! I activate the World Throne's sixth form! World Wand!"
World Throne - Wand Form, Skill Card
During your turn, cards you control are unaffected by monster card's effects.
"Uh oh. Why is he protecting his own cards." Dharma did not have a good feeling about this. "I will tell you. When Demiurgy is link summoned with three entirely different link materials, It can destroy all other cards on the field! Now that means only your cards will be cleansed!" The Gears of the World brimmed with energy, and the many rings around it started spinning around it wildly. "But Spectrum Supreme cannot be destroyed by any card effects while it points to no monsters!" His throne might have protected his cards, but her Mekk Knight would not die as easily as her trap and field spell cards. "Yes, the Mekk Knights tried to hold off the inevitable. But the power of Demiurgy proved to be too much even for them! If you do not believe me, let me show you! I activate World Legacy Collapse! Each turn I can banish one World Legacy monster, alive or dead! And their power becomes one with a link monster I control!" His continuous trap targeted the Theurlogical being, and gave It(6500 atk) the 3000 attackpoints of the World Legacy World Lance in the graveyard.
"But this is not just the end. This is also a new beginning." The Creator activated one more face-down card, World Reassembly. "There will be always be another story, another legacy. You can be a part of that too." The Reassembly normal trap special summoned a World Legacy monster from the deck to the field, any of the seven. He chose to summon the card form of the World Legacy World Ark(7/2500/500) [Zone 1] in attack mode. "Before Imduk died and became corrupted, he used his last power to awaken the seventh item. The Ark.. that is which protects all life as it is known. Of course this has happened before as well. As God said Unto Noah "the end of all flesh is come before Me". Only the worthy may be carried on this vessel, only those that accept me as their savior. One of you will die this turn. Who lives depends on you. Submit to me, and I will allow you and your memories to be carried over to the next incarnation of this world. If you refuse, you will forget everything you have ever learned.. What is your answer?"
