Harusuke was walking around town by himself, enjoying some of the leisure he had left before he went home. Usually, he liked hanging out with Usagi and the others, but sometimes, he liked to have some time to himself.
"Man, what a beautiful day," Harusuke mused to himself. "The sun is shining, not a single cloud's in the sky, and things are peaceful. At least for the time being. Sometimes I wish every day was as peaceful as it is now. Then again, I could be jinxing it."
Then, Harusuke's communicator began to beep, which in turn made his eyes roll.
"Looks like I spoke too soon," he muttered.
He answered his communicator using his bracelet, and Minako's face popped up on the screen.
"Harusuke! It's an emergency!" Minako spoke urgently. "We need you right now!"
"What is it, Minako?!" asked Harusuke. "What's wrong? Is Mimete attacking another victim?!"
"Just hurry and get to the Juuban Shopping Mall!" said Minako. "The others and I are already there! We'll meet you inside!"
Makoto's face then came up next to Minako's. "And don't transform! What's happening right now needs to be handled delicately! Just get here as soon as you can!"
"Don't worry! I'm on my way!" said Harusuke.
He turned off his communicator and took off running to the mall as fast as his feet could carry him. He soon arrived at the mall, rushing inside, and soon found the girls and Luna and Artemis.
"Hey, girls! I'm here!" panted Harusuke. "What's going on?! Is there a Daimon? Is Mimete causing havoc and destruction?!"
"Harusuke, calm down. There's no need to panic now that you're here," said Minako. "Besides, what's going on right now is something of a different matter entirely. Something that only you can help us with."
"What is it?" asked Harusuke. "What can I do to help? I'm ready and able!"
There seemed to be a dramatic pause, then Makoto and Minako each held up a dress, presenting it to Harusuke.
"We need your help deciding on these," said Makoto. "Which one do you think would look better on me?"
"And me too!" chimed in Minako.
Harusuke stared at the two, completely speechless. "Wait... Wh-what...?" he mumbled. "I... thought you guys said that you needed me for an emergency."
"It is an emergency!" said Minako. "We were all shopping for dresses, and Mako and I were having trouble which one would look good on us. So, we figured we'd call you to get a guy's opinion."
Harusuke was silent. Then, he practically exploded, clearly irked and annoyed. "ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" he yelled. "THAT'S THE BIG EMERGENCY?!"
"Hey, hey! Take it easy, Bro," soothed Usagi. "You're going to attract attention! Besides, we didn't exactly have any other way of contacting you."
"Well, you can't really blame him," said Luna. "I mean, I'd react the same way."
"So, why are you girls buying dresses anyway?" asked Harusuke. "Is there a formal party going on or something?"
"Not exactly," said Usagi. "You know about Michiru's recital? Well, recently I received a lot of tickets since there's enough for everyone, we figured we'd do some shopping for the occasion."
Harusuke them remembered. "Now that you mention it, I got a ticket to go, too," he said. "But I wasn't exactly sure if I should go or not."
"Come on, Harusuke. You should go," said Ami. "Michiru plays so beautifully on her violin. I'd love to hear more."
"Yeah. Me too," Makoto concurred.
"Plus, there might be a chance that we could learn about the talismans," said Rei. "And investigate Mugen Acadamy a bit more."
"And since you have a ticket already, you can come with us," said Usagi. "It'd be a pity to waste it."
Harusuke pondered for a few seconds, believing the girls made excellent points. "Well, when you put it like that, I suppose it'll be a good opportunity," he said. "Maybe I'll go after all.
"All right! Atta, boy!" smiled Usagi while giving him a pat on the back. "Hey, since you're here, maybe we can help you pick out a tux."
"Oh, no. You don't need to do that," said Harusuke. "I can just wear that old one Dad lent to me before."
Minako, Usagi, and Rei's ears perked up at this. "No way in heck!" the three of them cried at the same time.
Harusuke jumped, as did the others.
"Come on, Harusuke! You can't go around wearing an old hand-me-down from your dad!" said Minako. "It's just not done!"
"Why not?" asked Harusuke. "It's not that big of a deal, is it?"
"Yes, it is!" said Usagi indignantly. "Not even I wear any dresses Mom gave me. Need I remind you that you're a young man now? And as such, you need to understand that wearing what your Dad used to wear is an unforgivable sin! Especially since you're such a good-looking dude!"
"I can't even tell if you're complimenting me or insulting me," said Harusuke flatly. "All right. All right. So I'm not as good with fashion as you girls are. Do you think that you could find me a tux to wear?"
"Just leave it to us, Harusuke," smiled Rei with confidence. "You'll be in good hands with us."
Then, the teens hear a loud commotion coming not too far away from them. They then saw a group of school girls staring at a girl's poster on a pillar close by. It was, of course, Mimete under her human cover, but none of the Guardians knew this yet.
"Mimi Hanyuu is having a concert at the new dome!" said one girl. "I want to go so bad!"
"I know, but it's only for students who attend Mugen Academy," said another. "Maybe we should transfer to Mugen Academy."
"If only it were that simple," sighed a third.
Then, Minako's face lit up like a Christmas tree with excitement. "That's a perfect idea!" she gushed. "Let's do that! After all, we have no choice!"
Everyone looked across to Minako in puzzlement.
"What are you talking about, Minako?" Usagi asked.
"The very first act to grace the stage of the new Mugen Academy Memorial Hall Dome will be graced by ultra-fabulous superstar, Mimi Hanyuu!" Minako said as she dramatically motioned her hands toward the poster.
"That's all fine and dandy, Minako, but I've got one question," said Harusuke. "Who's Mimi Hanyuu?"
Minako's jaw dropped as she stared blankly at Harusuke with shock before exploding with indignance. "Are you freaking serious, Harusuke?!" she burst out. "She's only the hottest teen pop idol in Japan! She's always appealing on commercials, so you had to have seen her at once!" She then squealed with excitement. "And now that I know that she's having a concert, I have to go see it! It'll be so awesome!"
"Minako. This isn't the time to be acting like a fangirl," Artemis spoke sternly. "Need I remind you that we're not going to Mugen just to fool around?"
"I know that, but if I go to her concert and spy on Mugen at the same time, it'll be killing two stones with one bird!" said Minako. "It's the perfect plan!"
"First of all, it's killing two birds with one stone," corrected Luna."Second of all, you might have a problem with that, Minako. According to the times on the poster, Mimi Hanyuu's concert is happening at the same time as Michiru's recital."
Sure enough, upon inspection, the posters both showed the same times they were going to happen, much to Minako's dismay.
"Sorry, Minako. Guess you'll have to miss out," said Harusuke.
"But I wanna see Mimi Hanyuu!" wailed Minako.
Everyone could only sigh with exasperation as Minako continued to sob like a child lamenting on her crushed dream comically.
Kaolinite once again stood before the fountain in the spacial room, watching a vision play out on the surface of the water. The water showed the times Solaris fused with some of the Guardians and showed Sailor Moon destroying the Daimon back in front of the Tomoe Research Laboratory.
"Things have certainly been interesting as of late. Those Guardians not only have destroyed one of the defects in front of Hotaru's eyes, but countless of our newest and strongest ones, too," Kaolinite said to herself. "That power Solaris used before, could that be the power Master Pharoh 90 spoke of, the light similar to that of the Taiyron Crystal? No, what Solaris yielded was much more powerful, enough to allow him to fuse with the Guardians. I've been obsessed with getting my revenge against that boy, but now, I see I have to try and bring him to the master. Such awesome energy like his would surely please him. But first, there's the fact of finding the last talisman and the other light that the master warned me of. A light that seeks destruction. We cannot allow that light to threaten our sacred ground." She dug into her coat, and took out the Taiyron Crystal, and dipped it into the water while holding it by the chain. "Now, Water Mirror. Show me what you see."
At that moment, three little balls of light appeared, surrounded the crystal. Each of them shone in a different color, yellow, aquamarine, and violet, as the water pulsed and rippled.
"Swirls of Light?" murmured Kaolinite. "And there appears to be three of them."
Then, a voice came from the water.
"Awaken. The time has come for the light guided by the three talismans. Let the destruction begin."
As Kaolinite gasped in surprise, the water exploded, spraying everywhere as the lights disappeared. Kaolinite searched the water for anything else, but she couldn't see anything.
"Those lights. I was so close to figuring out what they are," she cursed with frustration. "But something interfered with my sight. What was it?"
Around that same time, Mamoru's eyes slowly opened as he woke up in his bed, having experienced the same dream yet again. Now wide awake, he got up, walked over to the window, and pulled back the curtain. It was still night out, and the town was ablaze with lights. As he stared out to the outside world, Mamoru recalled what occurred during the dream, which made him start to worry.
"That same dream again," he thought to himself. "Whoever that voice was, they were calling for something to awaken. Destruction? The three talismans? Are the dreams trying to tell us to collect them? Or not to?"
The next morning, in their apartment, Haruka and Michiru were getting ready for school. Haruka had just come out of the shower, put her clothes on, and walked into the room. When she entered, she saw Michiru gazing into her reflection of her mirror.
"Something wrong, Michiru?" Haruka asked.
"I was trying to find more information, but something blocked my gaze and clouded the mirror," said Michiru. "I was able to wipe it clear, though."
As she returned her gaze towards the mirror, Haruka quietly walked over to Michiru, wrapped her arms around her shoulders, and hugged her gently but tightly.
"Michiru, what you and I are trying to do here. It might be a waste of time," Haruka spoke quietly. "It might already be too late. And the sad part is, it probably won't even matter."
Michiru grasped one of Haruka's arms tenderly. "But we already knew that could be the case even before all of this even started all of this," she spoke with a hint of bitterness."The wheels of fate are turning, and once they've started, they can't be stopped." She turned around and caressed Haruka's cheek. "A new awakening will happen soon, and all we can do is prepare. We have no choice but to collect the three talismans."
The two gazed into each other's eyes until they both leaned in close and touched each other's foreheads, enjoying whatever little intimacy they had left before leaving.
In the lab, Mimete was posing in front of a mirror wearing her guise as Mimi Hanyuu. She made cute poses, sexy poses, and even modeling poses while also winking. Then, the other members of the Witches 5 came in, and when they saw her, they couldn't help but feel caught off guard but knew the reason why.
"Mimete, must you always practice those silly poses?" complained Tellu. "You look ridiculous."
"Yes, I do," said Mimete importantly. "I have a concert going on today, and I have to make sure that I look my best and pose my best."
"Look, Mimete, I get that you want to maintain your cover as a human idol," said Viluy. "But shouldn't you be focusing on more important things, like finding the last talisman and hosts for Master Pharoh 90?"
Mimete then smirked. "Oh, don't you worry. I haven't forgotten," she said. "In fact, with what I have in mind, I'll not only be able to search for the talisman but also get a lot of hosts for Master Pharoh 90. All you need to do is sit back and watch the show, and I intend to give those humans a good one."
"You sound pretty confident, Mimete," said Cyprine. "But Eudial had that same level of confidence, and look what happened to her."
A scowl crossed Mimete's face for a fraction of a second, but she still kept up her confidence. "Don't worry. I make sure that I'll succeed. I'll not only find the talisman and get some hosts, but I'll also crush those Sailor Guardians! I'll get revenge not only for what they did to Magus Kaolinite but also for the trouble they've given me! Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got a concert to get ready for."
And with that, Mimete teleported importantly away.
Later that day, Usagi and the gang were all at Mugen Academy inside the Memorial Hall Dome. Each one of the girls was wearing beautiful formal dresses while Harusuke was wearing a suit. The hall was abuzz with people looking forward to the performance while marveling at the hall's interior.
"Wow, this place looks amazing," said Makoto.
"Not to mention that the people look so sophisticated," said Ami. "If it weren't for the dresses we bought, I'd feel a bit out of place."
Usagi, on the other hand, kept quiet, the reason being was that a certain boy wasn't there with them. Not only that, but she could still remember seeing him with Michiru the other day, and that made her feelings of jealously resurface.
Harusuke looked across to Usagi and noticing her silence. "Hey, Sis. Is something the matter?" he asked.
Usagi quickly put on a brave face. "O-Oh! It's nothing," she said. "I'm fine."
Just then, the teens heard a pair of familiar voices in the crowd.
"Chibiusa, come along now. The show's going to start pretty soon."
"Coming, Mamo!"
"Those voices," said Makoto. "Could they who I think they are?"
They looked around, and sure enough, they saw a familiar-looking boy wearing a black suit and a little crop of pink ordango hair belonging to a girl wearing a pink dress.
"Hey, it's Chibiusa," said Minako. "And she's with Mamoru."
Chibiusa then saw them as well, as she happily scampered over to them. "Hey! You guys are here too!" she said happily. "You all look great!"
Usagi then looked up to Mamoru, who came over. "I didn't know that you were coming," she said.
"Michiru gave me a couple of free tickets," explained Mamoru. "I originally was going to ask you to come with me, but I heard you that you were already coming, so I asked Chibiusa to come."
"So that's what was going on the other day," Usagi thought to herself, feeling a bit of relief.
Everyone then took their seats in the main auditorium, and it wasn't long before the lights grew dim and the spotlight shone on the stage. The curtains slowly began to pull upwards, and Michiru walked onto the stage. She was wearing a beautiful aqua-marine dress and had her violin in hand. This prompted everyone to applaud as Michiru took her place. The clapped soon came to a stop, and after taking a few seconds, Michiru took her violin on her shoulder, readied her bow, and began to play.
A sweet, beautiful melody emitted from her violin as she made the bow dance across its strings, filling the atmosphere with a sense of wonder and mystery. As she played, Usagi couldn't help but marvel at the music as she closed her eyes, taking in every note while letting her imagination drift.
"This melody reminds me of an ocean current with rolling restless waves that ebb and flow," she thought. "It's as if I'm at the bottom of the sea."
As Michiru continued to play, Usagi opened her eyes, sensing someone was there not too far away. When she looked to her left, wondering who it was, she saw Haruka standing on the side of the audience.
Then, Makoto took notice of something. As she looked beside her seat, she noticed that a certain blonde was nowhere to be seen.
"Hey, Minako's gone," she whispered. "Where'd she go?"
"I don't know," Rei whispered back. "Maybe she went to the restroom?"
Harusuke looked over and thought about Minako's whereabouts, which made him frown a bit. "I think I might have an idea," he murmured.
Minako was sneaking through the halls while making her way to the second floor where Mimi Hanyuu's concert was taking place.
"I don't care about some stupid violin concert," she said to herself. "I'm going to that Mimi Hanyuu concert! After all, I came all this way, so how can I not miss it?! And I know just how I'm going to get in!"
She dug into her purse and took out a compact. It was in the shape of a yellow crescent moon and had a red jewel with stars.
"My special compact when I was Sailor V," she snickered with glee. "Usagi's not the only one who's got something up her sleeve. As they say, when in Rome, get items just like they do!"
She opened up the compact and held it above her head while activating its powers.
"MOON POWER! CHANGE ME INTO A MALE STUDENT ATTENDING MUGEN ACADEMY!"
In a brilliant shower of stars, Minako's appearance changed. She looked like a male, her blonde hair being short, and wore the male Mugen Academy uniform with red-framed glasses. Once her transformation was complete, Minako made her hay to the auditorium, hearing the sound of loud music. She peered inside and was welcomed to the sight of a full house, the audience being ablaze with colorful lights and confetti raining down everywhere. And in the center of the stage was a girl dressed in a cutesy pink and yellow dress.
Minako's eyes were practically hearts, and she squealed with glee. "Ohmigosh, Ohmigosh, Ohmigosh! It's really her! Mimi Hanyuu! She's even cuter in person!"
"Thank you, everyone! I'm so happy to be performing for you on this brand new stage!" Mimi Hanyuu spoke to the audience. "I love you all as well as our Mugen Academy. Our school is the best, and I would do anything for it, even offer up my own body. You all feel the same, don't you?"
A wild, thunderous storm of cheers answered her.
"I'm glad to hear it," smiled Mimi. "Now, I want you to listen real close, for this song is just for you guys." Then, her face darkened into an evil smile. "Give up your bodies, your souls, your pure hearts. Offer them all to me and our Master Pharoh 90."
No sooner when she said that, she ripped off all of her clothes, revealing her true identity as Mimete, much to the surprise of the audience and to the shock of Minako, who saw everything.
"No way!" Minako gasped. "Mimi Hanyuu... was Mimete the whole time?!"
The star ornament on the top of the stage began to glow in an eerie light while releasing strange pulses of energy. The waves began to hypnotize all of the people in there, and one by one, their pure hearts crystal began to show in their chests. Minako could also feel the power of the waves as she fell to her knees, trying to keep herself together.
"M-My body! What's happening to me?!"'
Knowing that she had to alert the others, Minako quickly staggered out of the door just before she fell under Mimete's spell and raced away to get help.
In the auditorium on the first floor, Michiru had just finished her song when she seemed to freeze up. Then, the curtain began to lower as she rushed off the stage.
"What's going on?" wondered Makoto. "It is over already?"
Then, Usagi's communicator began to beep. When she answered, Minako's voice came through.
"Usagi! Do you copy?!"
"Where are you, Minako?" asked Usagi. "Are you okay?"
"We've got trouble!" Minako spoke urgently. "Mimi Hanyuu is Mimete, and she's at the second level auditorium! You and the others get over here, quick!"
Usagi and the others wasted no time as they quickly made their way to the second level.
When Minako managed to recover, she turned off her communicator and wasted no time pulling out her transformation pen and transforming.
"VENUS PLANET POWER MAKE UP!"
Transformation Seuence: Minako
The planet Venus appears, and Minako puts her hand up, her fingernails begin to sparkle in bright yellow, and her transformation wand comes to her hand spinning, now having a different design. Her body becomes silhouetted in yellow, as yellow stars erupted from her wand while spinning around. As she stops, a yellow circle appears below her and bursts into several yellow stars, revealing Minako in her orange Sailor Uniform wearing orange heels, a pair of earrings, a blue bow in front, and yellow ribbon in the back, gloves with orange trims, and an orange skirt, choker, and collar. Minako then turns around, and in the middle of her forehead, her symbol appears, and her tiara materializes. Her transformation now complete; she assumes her final pose, her symbol and planet appearing in the background against a starry sky.
Sailor Venus then burst into the auditorium slamming the doors open, causing Mimete to break her concentration on the audience, which stopped the star from glowing.
"Hold it right there, Mimi Hanyuu! Or should I call you, Mimete!" Sailor Venus spoke. "I'm onto your evil scheme! Behind the glitz and glam of your idol persona lies the face of evil!"
Mimete glared. "Damn it! Not you!" she snarled.
"That's right! Protected by Venus, the planet of beauty, and the guardian of love, I am Sailor Venus!" she proclaimed. "And in the name of Venus, I'll punish you with the power of love!"
Mimete was now livid. "This is a private performance!" she snarled as she aimed with her wand. "Get off my stage!"
She then fired a powerful blast from her wand, and Sailor Venus jumped out of the way to dodge as she counterattacked.
"VENUS WINK CHAIN SWORD!"
With a twirl and a spin, while conjuring several chains of light, Sailor Venus launched them all towards Mimete, which in turn forced her to dodge. Because of that, the chains wrapped around the star ornament. With a mighty tug, Sailor Venus made the chains tighten around it, and it shattered into pieces, thus breaking the spell on the audience.
Not wanting to take this lying down, Mimete made three black Daimon Eggs appear in her hands and threw them straight towards two girls and a boy.
"NOW, DAIMONS! AWAKEN!" she commanded.
Immediately, the Daimons Eggs took possession of their targets, and Mimete now had three Daimons backing her up. The students of Mugen saw this, and they began to panic.
"Everyone, get out of here!" Sailor Venus ordered. "Quickly!"
The students then cleared out, not wasting any time, and the Daimons went on the attack, gunning straight for Sailor Venus. Sailor Venus jumped and dodged them while making sure to keep her distance, but then one of the Daimons came shooting at her blind spot, and she wouldn't be able to dodge in time. But then...
"MARS SNAKE FIRE!"
"JUPITER COCONUT CYCLONE!"
"SOLARIS ARROW OF SOL!"
A snake made of red flame, a blue ball of lightning, and a golden arrow of light, shot out, blasting all of the Daions at once, knocking them back. Then, the rest of the Guardians, along with Tuxedo Mask, arrived.
"Looks like we made it time!" said Sailor Mercury.
"Sailor Moon! Take them out!" ordered Solaris.
Sailor Moon then summoned her Spiral Heart Moon Rod, and with a rapid spin and a twirl, used her signature move.
"MOON SPIRAL HEART ATTACK!"
And with a powerful blast of hearts from her wand, Sailor Moon destroyed all three of the Daimons at once, reverting them to humans. Sailor Chibi Moon and Tuxedo quickly went over to them, making sure that they were all right. But now feeling cornered while livid with anger, Mimete aimed her wand towards them.
"Damn you to hell!" shrieked Mimete. "I won't lose to you! Take this!"
She then unleashed a powerful blast from her wand straight towards them.
"Chibi Moon! Tuxedo Mask!" Sailor Moon cried.
Tuxedo Mask seeing the attack coming, quickly moved to shield Sailor Chibi Moon and the three students, but at that moment...
"NEPTUNE DEEP SUBMERGE!"
"URANUS WORLD SHAKING!"
A powerful blast of water came shooting out and canceled out Mimette's attack and striking her, and a blast of earthen energy struck Mimete again, inflicting even more damage. As Mimete began to stagger, Solaris summoned forth his blade and, while charging it with power, and charged while giving his blade a mighty slice.
"SOLARIS CELESTIAL BLADE SLASH!"
His attack cut straight through Mimete with ease, and with a dying scream, Mimete was no more leaving only a black Daimon Egg, which disappeared in a puff of smoke.
Everyone then looked up, and on top of the upper levels of the theater on a balcony were Sailors Uranus and Neptune, the two of which leaped off the balcony and landed on the stage before them.
"Thanks for the assist, Uranus! And you too, Neptune!" called out Sailor Moon. "We owe you one!"
But Sailor Uranus glared at Sailor Moon grimly. "What are you all doing here?" she asked. "You shouldn't be here."
The Guardians were surprised by this response.
"Well, it's kind of obvious, ain't it?" said Solaris. "Mimete was attacking those students, and we came here to stop her. Same as you two. In fact, Mugen Academy has been having nothing but Daimons pop up around here lately. Do you two have any idea as to why?"
"If you two know what's going on, then you have to tell us," said Sailor Mercury.
"I don't know why you would need to know about that," said Sailor Neptune. "But there's nothing to tell, so you'd better be on your way and don't come back."
This made everyone grow suspicious.
"I don't understand," said Sailor Moon. "Why are you two keeping so much from us? We should be working together, not against each other! We're Guardians! You even saved our lives!"
"Don't get the wrong idea," Sailor Uranus spoke coldly. "We have no intention of teaming up with you. Not now, not ever. And just because we saved you doesn't mean that we're friends."
"Come on! Hasn't Spector taught you two anything?!" Solaris snapped crossly. "You're after the Death Busters, the same as we are! Can't you at least cooperate by telling us about them?!"
"Again, you don't need to know," said Sailor Neptune as a violin and bow appeared in her hands and got ready to play it.
The moment she did, Solaris flinched in surprise as he remembered someone else who played the violin, as did Tuxedo Mask. When they realized this, they suddenly had a realization.
"N-no way!" Solaris thought. "It can't be...!"
"Michiru Kaioh!" thought Tuxedo Mask.
Sailor Neptune then began to play her violin, her bow dancing furiously on the strings. A loud ultrasonic wave erupted from it, causing everyone to cover their ears in agony as she played.
"It's so loud!" cried Sailor Jupiter. "My ears are splitting!"
Tuxedo Mask fought through the pain enough to speak. "Is it you two?!" he demanded. "Are you two the ones that will bring destruction to this world?! Answer me!"
Sailor Uranus seemed to bit her lip, but in response, gathered all the power into her hand, creating a giant ringed sphere. Sensing that she was about to attack, Solaris quickly stepped in front of the others and clenched his fist, gathering power, too.
"URANUS WORLD SHAKING!"
"SOLARIS ARROW OF SOL!"
Sailor Uranus let loose her sphere while Solaris fired his golden arrow of light. The two attacks collided, resulting in a mighty explosion that shook the entire theater. As smoke billowed everywhere, someone stood on top of a balcony watching the whole thing. It was Specter.
"Well, now, it would seem that things have gotten a bit tense, now," they said to themselves. "That's not good. At this rate, those kids won't stand a chance for what's coming. The sovereign of silence is coming. Unfortunately, I've already interfered enough than I should have, so I have no choice, but to wait and pray that they'll get their act together."
With a wave of their cloak, they turned on their heel and disappeared into shadows.
