Yellow
Leia's X-Wing's landing struts touched down on the ancient slabs of the hanger floor and was immediately swarmed by cheering rebels. She grinned, popped the canopy, and drew herself out of her seat. She was sweaty, stinking of battle, exhausted, elated, and hopeful.
"Leia!"
The voice that rose above the cacophony belonged to Biggs and she spotted his black and yellow checked helmet as he and Wedge Antilles pushed through the crowd. Leia removed her own helmet and dropped it into her cockpit, she slid down the ladders to the floor and was engulfed in the arms of her wingmen.
Green
"Not bad for a green pilot," Wedge whispered in her ear. She could hear the smile in his voice.
Leia stepped back, held both men at arm's length. "Thank you," she said, "Thank you for having my back."
Biggs nodded, Wedge grimaced a little and Leia knew he was regretting that he'd had to pull out of the trench; his fighter damaged, but then he nodded too.
She took their hands, squeezed them, and let go. Taking a breath, letting it out, Leia sobered, becoming the Princess and Rebel Leader once more.
"This isn't over yet," she warned those around.
Blue
It took her longer than she had wanted to reach the command centre due to the number of personnel who wanted to congratulate her. Pausing at the doorway she glanced around, then strode on when she spotted Dodonna.
"Anything from Imperial Centre?"
The general frowned. "Imperial Centre, I… your Highness…"
"My brother, General, I mentioned my brother."
The older man nodded, "yes, before you collapsed earlier."
"Luke," she told him, think of his blue eyes, "he and Obi-Wan Kenobi are on Imperial Centre."
Dodonna frowned. "The Jedi from the clone wars?"
Leia hesitated, then pressed on, "They are confronting Palpatine."
