Ch 129
Getting call from Harry Dresden, Aliana went back to Chicago to see him. Looking inside, she knocked on the door, not seeing him at his desk. He came out from another room and stuck his head out the door.
"Hey Anne, We're down to two unidentified glyphs left. Looking at the pattern, we're sure Bob was taken to a parallel dimension across the never never. It was a wizard who took him, no one else could have cast that strong of magic. We're going to try a couple things. The man who heard that wizard cast, does he remember any of the words?"
"No I even read his mind. The only thing he remembers is Bob coming in, and the man who was holding the gun on him. He doesn't even remember any of those words unconsciously."
Harry nodded. "I see. In a few days I'll come to where Bob was taken and recreate the event. Where is it?"
"Come to Driftwood, Texas. When you get there, I'm in the sheriff's office, fifth building on the right as you come in from the north. Can't miss it. I'll take you from there," Aliana told him.
"Driftwood?" he asked.
"It's a small town, southwest of Austin."
"Ok, if I get a plane to Austin, can you pick me up?"
"Let me know when you're coming. Someone will come get you," she promised.
"Great. I have another client in here, so I'll see you then."
Aliana held out another thick pack of hundreds. "Take this, see you then."
"Thanks," Harry said and went back inside.
.
Aliana teleported back to the office to find Joan there for her daily update on where Bob was.
"Hi Joan, we're working on it. We have a man coming in from Chicago to help out. Can I get you to go get him from the Austin airport when he arrives?" Aliana said.
"Yes, this guy can find out where Bob is?"
"It's complex, Joan, but he's been working hard at it. His name is Harry Dresden. "
Joan nodded. "Time travel?" she asked.
"More like dimension travel, but yes, we can't get there from here without help."
Joan got up. "Thanks, let me know when he's due to arrive."
Joan left and went to tell Allie the news. Of course Allie wanted to come with her. They stopped at Joan's parent's house to let them know too.
Cameron asked, "What is this guy going to use to retrieve Bob?"
"I have no idea. We just want Bob back," Joan said with a weak smile.
"I don't think a TDE will work," Delilah said. "We'd have to know the exact location."
"The secretary said he's in another dimension," Joan said. "There wasn't any machinery in the clinic, just that circle on the floor."
"That's strange, but if we can figure out how it works, we can get Bob back," Cameron said.
"We will get him back," John stated.
Daniel came in from the back, looking frustrated. "John, that Dr. Kimble is impossible! Claire came in crying again because of him."
"I've got this," Allison said and got up. "It won't happen again Dad, I swear. Joan, come on."
The pair got up and left.
"You can't hurt him," Daniel warned.
Allison turned, showing red eyes, "No Dad, but we can scared the living HELL out of him!" She and Joan marched out.
Cameron grew a smirk and got up. "I want to see this."
"I'll drive," Daniel said.
.
Dr. Kimble was on the dock learning more of the mer's language when he heard feet stomping up behind him. "I'm busy!" he snapped.
A hand grabbed the back of his collar. He was pulled backwards. He saw Joan Connor there. She told the mers he'd be back shortly.
"What are you doing! Let me go!" Kimble yelled as he tried to twist and gain his feet. Joan kicked his feet back out from under him.
"I will not be treated like this!" he yelled. He then found himself flying through the yard, he landed in a tumble. Getting up he saw Daniel and Allison by Daniel's car. Or was that Cameron. He got his answer when he was pulled upright and spun to face a red-eyed Allison. Joan was right by her.
Pointing a finger at him, Allison growled, "Your days of being mean to people are OVER! It's not Mom's fault you are here, or was it Bob's. Your shit stops NOW or else!"
Being lectured to, he came back with his own pointing finger. "Now look ... Ahhhh!" He dropped to his knees from the tight grip Allison had on his finger.
"No, You look here!" Allison snapped. "I hear about Mom crying again because of you and I'll break this finger, then all your other ones, One by one! I will put you in pain you will never escape from! Go ahead, tell me again how you have the right to be mean so I can get stated! Come on, yell at me!"
Kimble calmed down. "Please, let go," he asked in a normal tone.
"No! I want you to yell at ME and say something degrading. Come on, loud mouth, let me hear it!" Allison said in a nasty sounding growl. "Come on, I want to hear how you can be mean to others! I want to hear you can't be treated like this, you pompous ass!"
Shaking, Kimble asked, "Please, let go. I'll watch what I say from now on."
"What? You dare cast your hate on others, but fold so quickly?" Allison asked in a mock light tone. "Don't you get it? You have been rotten to others, now I get to be rotten to you. I will be rotten to you and kick your ass all the way around the LAKE if I hear you so much as snap at anyone again. Do you feel me Mr. Big Shot?"
"Yes, I get it," Kimble said meekly. "I promise I'll be nicer."
Allison lifted his chin and looked into his eyes. "Mother gets an apology, so does Bob when he gets back. I'll be waiting for you to screw up. When you do, prepare for pain." she then pushed him back and stomped away.
Joan came up to stand over him. Looking down on him, she cast him a tight smile. "If Allie isn't available, I'll gladly come make your life a living hell." she then followed Allison.
Dr. Kimble took a moment to get himself together and stood up. He was still shaking. Seeing Cameron watching him, he went over and asked, "You're going to let them treat me like that?"
In a flat tone, Cameron said, "Be lucky Allison got to you first, I would have crushed that finger and at least one other bone. If you weren't pissing your pants by that time, I would have kept going until you did. You will be decent to others, or else."
"You people are frightening," he said.
"Then you better keep that in mind."
.
Joan called the Cowboys office to let them know Bob had been kidnapped, and there was a chance she wasn't going to make the pre season practices either. She got put on hold, then the team manager came on. She explained Bob was kidnapped and they were looking for him. He told her to call again with any updates. If they weren't there by one week after the season started, then they would be out for the whole season. Joan begrudgingly agreed to call the day before they were to show up and let him know what they were doing.
Allison, sitting beside Joan on the couch, said, "Joan, you should go. We have no idea when Bob's going to be found."
Joan squeezed her eyes shut and shook her head. "No. Football is fun, but this is my life. Bob is my life. I'm not going anywhere until I know he's safe at home, with us."
Allison clasped her hand. "Me either," she promised.
"Fuckin kidnappers!" Joan spat out.
.
The next day, Joan got a call from the secretary, she got the day and time Harry Dresden was due into Austin. Joan was eager to go get him so they could get Bob back. Of course, Allie was riding with her. before they left, Joan went to see Carol and Duncan to let them know they were picking up a man to help get Bob back.
The drive u t Austin was pleasant, Joan even found a good spot in short term parking. Joan and Allison arrived at the arrivals gate just before the plane landed. Side by side they stood, Joan held up the sigh that read 'Harry'. Allison held up the one that read. Dresden'.
With the crowd getting off the plane, Allison said, "Maybe we should hold them over out heads.
"Good idea," Joan agreed. They did.
Watching the people filing past, they saw a tall man loo at their signs and wander over. He wore a long dark coat over his shoulders and carried what looked like an old medical bag. Uder his coat he wore what looked like an old work out uniform.
"Fan club?" he asked them with a grin.
"No we're waiting for a wizard. Seen anyone with a long staff or a big white beard?" Allison asked.
"Nope, Just me. I'm Harry Dresden."
"You?" Joan asked surprised someone who supposedly held magical power dressed so poorly.
"I am Harry Dresden," he said. "You girls are here to pick me up and take me to Driftwood?"
"We are. Have to got your luggage?" Joan asked.
"Nope, all I have is my bag," he said holding it up.
"Well come on, follow us."
They went to the Bronco, Allison got in the back seat and let Harry have the passenger front.
Once they started out, Harry asked, "Have either of you met the sheriff's secretary?"
"We know her," Joan said. "She's a big help to him now. Once I straightened them both out, they get along good. I had to yell at them and force them both to see things like they were. Talk about stubborn!"
Harry laughed. "So, you yelled at a succubus?"
"Both of them, they were being unreasonable!" Joan said. "She was sure it was her job to corrupt and kill people, He was still pining over his wife that died back in the 1600's!"
"You got a succubus to behave?" Harry asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Wasn't easy," Joan grumbled. "I mean both my moms were made to kill, and they did a lot of that. The thing is, they evolved and grew up. There was no reason the secretary can't grow up and change. I told her so. The sheriff is one of the few people she had a chance to be happy with, and now they are."
Harry said, "You do know if a succubus kisses someone, she drains their life force and they die."
"Not the sheriff! He's immortal. He can't die, so they can kiss and have sex all they want. She can't die on him either, so that makes them perfect for each other."
"And this guy is the town sheriff?" Harry asked.
"Yeah, the mayor too," Joan said with a nod. "Everyone likes him. Need help, or just to know something in town, everyone goes to the sheriff. He organizes town events and the bus rides for people to go to out of town events like our football games."
Harry studied Joan. "You play football?"
"I do," Joan said. "But seeing Bob is missing, I might have to call in to the Cowboy office to tell the I'm not coming this year."
"You're talking the Dallas Cowboys?" Harry asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Yup, I'm their primary quarterback."
Allison giggled. "Everyone calls Joan Miss Dynamite. She has the fasted throw in the NFL, and she's consistently the MVP quarterback."
"I'm surprised you haven't been badly hurt," Harry exclaimed.
"Nope! I'm all metal and armored on the inside like my moms," Joan beamed.
"Our skeletons are, anyway," Allison added.
Harry looked back a Allison. "Both of you are?"
"We are." they chorused.
"Joan has the second fastest throw in history. 145 miles an hour. My sister, her mom, Cameron, has the record at 146 miles an hour for a hand thrown football."
"The coach says I throw rockets. I have to watch how fast I throw, or I knock my receivers down," Joan said and giggled.
Allison leaned up between the front seats. "So Harry, what kind of magic do you do?" she asked.
"Mostly search for missing things and people."
"Great! That means you can find Bob!" Joan beamed.
"I have the best chance of finding him," he said cautiously. "There's still information I need to find out."
"Can we watch?" Joan asked.
"Yeah, let us watch in case there's something we can do to help."
"And If I can, I want to find who took Bob and go kick his ass," Joan stated.
.
Getting into Driftwood, Joan stopped at the sheriff's office. Joan, the sheriff and his secretary came out. The sheriff said, 'Joan, head home, we'll follow you."
"Hi Harry," Aliana said with a wave.
Joan led the around the lake to her house. On the way she called Delilah and told her they were going by and heading home with Harry Dresden. Once they parked at home, they headed down to the clinic. Not long after, Cameron and Delilah arrived in Christine.
The sheriff took his lock off the clinic door and opened it. He pointed to the floor. "There's that circle, Mr. Dresden."
Harry felt nervous about an unrestrained succubus right here behind him. Focusing on his task, he first did a test for magic. Yes, that was in deed an active magic circle. He then dug out his reveal dust and focused on the last time the circle was energized. they all watched as he cast his spell then blew the dust into the room.
The dust flew around and settled into a gray Bob standing on the circle and the wizard holding his hand up. The wizard's voice was weak. Harry listened to the spell being cast, then the dust fell to the floor.
"Damn," Harry grumbled. "I didn't quite hear what he said.
"I did," Cameron announced.
"Yeah, I got it too," Joan said.
Delilah and Allison also heard it.
Harry said, "Bob, come out!"
Hothbert rose up out of the bag in smoke form and appeared by Harry. "Very good ladies!" Hothbert beamed at them.
Harry blew out a sigh of relief. "OK, one at a time tell me exactly what you heard. Bob, write it in the air." he pointed to Joan first.
Joan repeated what she heard exactly. Bob used his finger to write the glowing words in the air.
Cameron was next, then Allison, then Delilah. Hothbert looked at the words each time they repeated the phrase. He then put his hand to his chin. "Harry, they all repeated the same thing, but this spell is in another language. It's indecipherable."
"I can cast it though?" Harry asked.
"Yes, but you won't know what you're casting. A large part of any spell is knowing and focusing on what you want," Hothbert explained as if Harry should know that. "If you don't know where to go, that spell could take you anywhere."
"Let me go," Aliana said. The sheriff eyed her. She explained, "I can find my way back to you if it's not right. If it is, I can tell you where Bob went."
"Excuse me," Hothbert said to Aliana. "If this goes across dimensions, even a demon could get lost and not able to return." He then quickly added, "Not that I'm concerned about you, but whatever we do must have a decent chance of success."
"Some kind of safety line to pull whoever tries to go, back here also," Joan said. "Maybe bring Bob back with them?"
Hothbert waggled a finger at her. "The young lady does make sense."
Harry thought for a moment. "A recall spell?"
"May work," Hothbert agreed. "You will need to know when to perform the recall."
"You still need to communicate with the one who goes then, is that right?" Aliana asked.
"That would be best," Harry admitted.
Aliana turned to the sheriff. "When I was blinded, I moved to the astral plane to call for you. You heard me and I was able to respond and come to you. We could to that again."
The sheriff nodded. "If you have enough energy, you might be able to do it. Harry?"
Harry thought for a moment, then said, "It's possible. Not proven. Demons can transverse some planes of existence. The astral plane is connected to every one, that I know of. She'd have to move to the astral plane, then back to where she originally started from in the other world for it to work."
"Please keep in mind we're talking about sending a demon to another world," Hothbert said loudly.
"Do you want to go?" Aliana asked in a hard tone.
"I would, if I could." Hothbert stated. "I would be a more reliable prospect than you!"
"All right, stop it!" Harry announced. "Arguing gets us nowhere."
"Sheriff?" Aliana asked, looking at him.
Cameron asked, "How about if she gets there, she find this wizard and makes hm send her and Bob back?"
"I can do that!" Aliana agreed.
"A scry!" Hothbert announced. "Harry, scries can penetrate any barrier. Scry Bob out so you know where he is!"
Harry grinned. "Good thinking Bob. I need a full, absolutely full bowl of water, and something personal of Bob's."
"We'll be right back!" Joan said. She and Allison took off for the house.
Aliana stood in front of the sheriff, hands on his shoulders. With a pleading look on her face, she asked, "Sheriff, please, let me go. I can take care of myself and I swear I will bring Bob back with me. I want to make you proud of me."
"Harry?" the sheriff asked.
Harry frowned at the demon. He knew demons were masters at manipulation. Usually to corrupt an individual so when it finally killed them, they got a straight shot to hell. "Sheriff, how is she here?"
The sheriff looked at him. "I have her amulet."
"You are my Master," Aliana stated.
"You control her?" Harry asked.
"She must do as I say," the sheriff agreed.
Harry glanced at the circle and said, "I doubt Bob is standing right where that circle put him. He may be far away from it by now. A succubus has much greater mobility, she can find him the fastest of anyone. If you trust her, I'll send her."
Hothbert lowered his head and pinched the bridge of his nose. "Not a good idea, Harry." he intoned.
Clasping her hand, the sheriff led Aliana up to the house. "Come on, let's get you charged up good."
"Yes!" Aliana cried happily and bounced along beside him.
.
Joan let the sheriff borrow a guest bedroom to get Aliana charged up for her trip. Joan and Allison brought down a mixing bowl of water and a pitcher of water to fill the bowl to the brim.
Harry sat inside the clinic and looked through his spell books to make sure they were doing everything possible to retrieve Bob. He'd passed through planes himself, and knew gates and paths trough the never never. Well, the gates and paths that lead from and to Earth in the never never. He'd met other things, some nasty, there that also traveled in that plane. Was it possible he could use the never never to get to where Bob was? To get an idea if that was possible, he'd have to perform his scry first to get an idea of the location of this other world.
It wasn't fast, but he was getting a good plan together.
.
Joan set the bowl down near the circle like Harry indicated. Allison slowly finished filling it with the pitcher until the water completely filled the bowl.
"I hope this works," Allison said.
Joan sported a crooked grin. "I'm praying with all my soul this works and we get Bob back."
The bowl ready, they stepped back out of the clinic to let Harry study in peace. At a loss of anything else to do, Joan went out and stood by her mother. Cameron put an arm around her. Allison did the same with Claire. Standing in a group together, the women were quiet until Delilah said, "I should go too."
Hothbert turned from watching Harry. "Miss, do you have some power?" he asked.
Delilah brought her canons out. She fired one over the clinic. "I can keep any aggressors away," she stated.
Hothbert smiled. "Keep the departure area clean. Yes that would be very beneficial."
.
The sheriff knew to charge up Aliana's energy, she needed lusty sex. He went slow, kissing her to give her some energy as he slowly slipped her clothes off. He spent time studying and relishing every part of her body as he slowly undressed her. Nothing quick, just slow and easy. It was making her quiver with want. Even after they were naked, he petted and kissed her all over, driving their lust higher and higher.
"Now, please!" Aliana cried softly.
"Not yet," he said softly and kissed her belly. "Let me see all of you."
Aliana shifted into demon form. Panting in want, she gazed at him. "I need you," he whispered.
He pet her wings, tracing the black lines of veins, making them shudder. He also tried something new. When she wrapped herself around him, arms legs and wings, he reached down and stroked her tail. Sliding his hand along her tail, she let out a squeak and orgasmed.
"Now, please!" she begged, shuddering in lust.
Getting to the end of her tail, he looked at the spaded end and kissed it, then licked it.
"OH ... No ... I..." she blurted out in gasps.
He finally slipped into her and sucked on the tip of her tail.
"ahh... Ghaaa ... ahhhh!" she cried. Her whole body was shaking, she humped against him, eyes pure black and lost in lust.
He couldn't hold back any more either. When she hit a powerful rolling orgasm, he did also. They rode the waves of pure carnal joy, gripping each other like their lives depended on it. They kissed deeply, Aliana took all the energy he had to give, drinking deep into his bottomless well.
.
"What's taking them so long?" Harry grumbled. Studying and looking how to modify and combine spells, Harry had found the answer. He also found out what those last two glyphs had to be. He'd been thinking that circle was a modified teleport spell. Teleport was only part of it. To cross dimensions, it needed a scry element. It also needed a teleport, but also a portal. That's what the bend in the glyphs did. As far as the language, that didn't matter. As long as he knew what the spells were, he could cast it with Destination, and put that demon right where Bob had landed. Yes, he had the answer! But where was his dimension traveling demon now?
.
Aliana lay quivering in energy. If energy was light, she'd be outshining the sun! She held the passed out Connor to her, her breast for his pillow. She'd drained him of everything. A mortal person was assume he was dead. He wasn't, he would wake up when his endless reservoir was refilled enough to let him wake up.
How she wanted to do that again!
"Uh," Connor groaned and opened his eyes.
"Welcome back, my dearest," she cooed and petted his hair.
"I think I died in your arms."
"You did!" she beamed and and kissed his head, "and was it ever fantastic! Even better, I have enough of you in me to never not know where you are, or want to be parted from you. You made love to me in my true form. I never need to hide from you. That is very special."
Connor chuckled "Glad you're happy." He lifted up and kissed her on the lips. "So, you ready to go find Bob?"
"More than ready. I will rip that world apart to bring him back!" she proclaimed.
"All right, let's go do it!"
.
Harry had the spells impressed in his mind. He had the magical energy to perform the spells and was impatiently waiting. Delilah was inside by the circle, arms cross over her chest, tapping her foot as she waited. Harry agreed she could go too. It wouldn't be a problem bringing three back.
"Hey, what took you so long?" Joan called out.
"Who is THAT!" Claire cried as she stared at the winged woman who also had long horns and a tail.
The sheriff was walking hand in hand with Aliana, still in demon form. Truthfully, she liked being her true self and as long as Connor liked seeing her like this, she didn't care who else saw her. If they didn't like it or were scared, too bad for them. She was who she was.
"Secretary, you look really different," Allison noted. Not just in form, but it seemed like she was glowing.
Aliana cast her a bright smile. "I'm not hiding any more. This is me, here for my Master," she said and cast the sheriff a big smile. "Some of you may be shocked. I am also not the only non-human in Driftwood, I think everyone knows that already. Yes, at work in town I will look human, but now, when I'm not, I will be me."
"So now you all will have to deal with a succubus," Hothbert grumbled at the sky.
Aliana frowned at him. "At least I'm not a damned ghost who brought his fate upon himself." she replied.
Claire asked, "What's a succubus?"
"A very evil thing," Hothbert stated.
"Bob, that's not true," Harry said from the clinic doorway. "It is true usually Succubi are made by devil lords as concubines or soul collectors. Succubi do the will of their masters." Motioning to the sheriff, he added, " Since her master is a law enforcement officer, I doubt he is using Anne for evil."
"More like helping to keep the peace and keeping Driftwood safe," the sheriff stated. He looked at Aliana. "Anne?" he asked.
She shrugged. "He had to call me something."
"Anne's good by me."
Aliana grinned and cuddled against him. "I'll always be good for you."
Harry let out a loud couch. "Be that as it may, Anne, Delilah is going with you to assist. You two go, find Bob and bring him back to where he appeared. Sheriff, let me know when Anne has him there."
"Come on, let's do it!" Delilah called.
Aliana gave the sheriff a tight hug then went in the clinic.
The circle was made only big enough for one person to stand on. Harry got Aliana and Delilah facing each other and hugging. Delilah holding Aliana's wings close to her body.
Delilah had a question. "Harry, this isn't like a TDE is it? We won't arrive naked, will we?"
Aliana grinned and said, "We can get naked later. Let's just get there."
"You will arrive with all your clothes on," Harry told her. "Now be quiet, I'm going to start the spell."
Harry raised his hands and began his incantation. The circle glowed. Harry finished his spell with a final powerful word and the pair on the circle vanished. The water from the bowl shot out and onto the circle an inch deep. looking down on it, he saw Anne and Delilah standing on a street, looking around. Anne pointed, they walked off.
"We did it, they are there," he told everyone.
