sapphicsierramist asked:
Ok ok what about Elsa reading a study to the Northuldra kids but she keeps getting distracted by Maren?
omg the dorkiness potential of this though dsjhfgjdshgd
"You have words for muscles?" Exclaimed a little Northuldra girl happily.
Elsa nodded happily. "Yes, we do!" She then stopped her glee to stare down at the book she had brought from her weekend in Arendelle's castle. "However, if you don't wish to learn our language, I totally get it. Your parents make a great point-"
"NooOoOo!" Insisted a boy, jumping forward to her. "We wanna learn!"
"Yes! We want to!" Exclaimed another one.
"We want to!" Repeated a girl, clinging to Elsa's arms and shaking it, nearly making her drop the book.
The blonde chuckled openly. That was exactly the answer she was expecting, and was only teasing them.
She had been living in the Forest long enough now to bring them knowledge from her kingdom, in exchange for the numerous lessons the Northuldra had given her, whether it be in manners or daily life skills or crafts.
"Alright, alright." She smiled warmly. "Then scooch in."
The Northuldra kids already were assembling in a half circle around her, sitting in the warm grass under the sun like her and already staring at her admiratively. Elsa blushed a bit at the devotion, and turned the pages nervously, searching for an easy muscle to start with. After all, they had to pronounce new words. Arriving to B, she found a two syllable one that would be perfect.
"Okay, first, the biceps."
She let them some time to repeat the word, saying it slowly too for them to understand, then lowered the book to show them the spelling. The kids were still a bit struggling with this alphabet, though they were all curious and learned fast.
"It's the one on the first part of the arm", she explained with simple words.
The drawn illustration in the book was too small for all of them to see, so she naturally flexed her right arm, the other holding the book on her thighs, and attracted their attention to it.
"See? It's this one."
Only two kids nodded. The others seemed lost.
"We don't see much with your snow sleeve."
"Yeah, where are we supposed to look?"
Truth came out the mouths of children, and Elsa could only face their insistent stares. They genuinely needed her to remove her outfit.
"You can melt it, right?" Asked a kid, a smile growing because he knew she was capable of amazing things.
"Yeah! Melt it!"
Elsa blushed, and gulped. "Hum... If I melt it, I'll be... My arm will be bare, that would... Be inappro-"
"May I help?" Suggested a soft voice from behind the kids.
Some twirled around, and Elsa's head snapped up so hard that she felt a crack at the back of her neck, and she took the mental note to tell the kids about this body part too. At the sight of Honeymaren's gentle eyes and warm smile, Elsa blushed even harder, though she had no idea why. It's not like she had said the word "naked" in front of those little Northuldra! Why was she this flustered?
"...Help?" She repeated in a dumb way, and one of the closest kids that hadn't turned at Honeymaren's arrival frowned at her confusedly.
Where had the confident, poised and sarcastic Elsa who had been smirking at them mere seconds ago? Why was the young woman now looking... Wordless? It was like all intelligence had left her eyes that now were fixed on Honeymaren. The kid frowned, clueless at what was going on.
"What are you doing?" Smiled Honeymaren curiously.
There was some force of attraction in her question that made Elsa unable to lie to her; she turn the book around.
"We, uhm... We're having a study session. I noticed last week that despite being warriors and manual people, Northuldra don't use terms for muscles."
The brunette's smile extended to a grin. "Oh, right! Anna used one of those words the other day, I remember."
She then lifted an amused eyebrow. "Then what would be 'inappropriate', as I've heard?"
Elsa blushed so hard that she looked like she had a sun burn, even though they hadn't been sitting in the sun that long. One of the kids, the most talkative one, told everything to Honeymaren, especially about the demonstration part. The brunette had a peek at the illustration, and nodded.
And then, without a single added word, she took off her tunic, slipping it above her head. She placed it aside and kneeled, now in pants, and only wearing, on the top part of her body, a large strip of cloth that held her chest. With a smile to the kids, Honeymaren then lifted her right arm and flexed, her exposed arm inflating.
The children let out admirative sounds, and for a good reason; Honeymaren never exercised to gain, but she trained a lot with her staff and helped in construction around the camp very often, resulting in her having indeniably impressive biceps.
She smiled at the kids, and Elsa felt like the entire world and time had been suspended; if she weren't mentally connected to the Earth Giants, she would have swore that the planet had stopped turning.
The positive part of it all was that all kids were staring at Honeymaren's demonstration, and none of them got to see how genuinely red Elsa had gotten.
As the clearing was in bright daylight, and none of it was hidden by tall trees, Honeymaren was quite literally glowing. The fact she wore only a simple cloth on her chest made the normally clever Snow Queen feel like her brain had turn to jelly, and azure blue eyes danced over every inch of the top of the brunette's body, from her enhanced bicep to her discreet abs.
Her eyes started to unfocus, and she lost notion of reality.
"Elsa."
The Fifth Spirit started to wonder if there was a god of sun, because she swore that Honeymaren was bathed in divine light.
"Elsa."
The blonde blinked. "Yes, yes, what?"
"Your book." Smiled Honeymaren.
All kids turned around to Elsa again, and the latter looked down. She had been so shocked that the book had fallen to the grass in front of her knees. She cleared her throat as she picked it up, forced herself to calm her nerves, and did her best to avoid eye contact with Honeymaren. She flipped the pages distractedly as an excuse to continue staring down, hopefully long enough for her blush to disappear.
She heard the kids placing themselves close to her again, their attention on the book.
"What's next? What's next?" Jolted a kid happily.
Another one bounced excitedly. "What's the next word?"
Elsa gulped and flipped a random page. When she saw the illustration of the muscle to demonstrate, her heartbeat rose again to the rhythm of a drum.
"Uhhhh... This one is..."
She gulped.
This was going to be a long, long afternoon.
