Elsa making herself some breakfast in the forest ty 💙
cute! (I want those little daily things so bad in the next canon content!)
"Bruni, I swear to Ahtohallan herself, if you burn my eggs again this time, I will freeze your tiny butt." Mumbled Elsa as she placed the slate above the fire.
The salamander chirped with a smirk, and she couldn't help but chuckle at his happiness. He loved to help, and she had trouble remembering that their first encounter was a violent forest fire when the Spirit drumming his paws in front of her was so adorable. He spat a generous burst of pink flames on the pile of wood, and Elsa started to break the eggs on the soon hot slate.
The eggs were fresh and brought by Honeymaren to the quiet spot she had settled in. The Northuldra had been about to join her for breakfast like every morning, but the stubborn blonde had insisted that this time, she would handle it alone. Not knowing if it were because she needed a bubble of calm as an introvert, or because she wanted to see how able she was now in the Forest, Honeymaren didn't argue and left, giving her a huge basket of berries that could honestly satiate the blonde for several days. And satiate the tiny gourmet belly of Bruni who was eyeing the basket with envy.
"Ah-ah-ah! No! Those are for me." Laughed Elsa, and she waved her fingers to make the basket float in the air in a swirl of snowflakes.
The Fire Spirit now was too distracted in crunching on the latter to even focus on the berries anymore.
Elsa picked some and put them on the eggs, then crushed some rosemary between her fingers. Once she poured enough on the steaming slate, she smelled her hands with a happy humming, and closed her eyes. The Snow Queen loved how many fragrances and flavors this new life offered her. Sure, she had many tasting experiences in her royal life, but living them in nature directly was amazing.
A chirp from Bruni brought her back to reality and her eyes snapped wide when she realized that the eggs were almost black.
"SHIT!" She exclaimed, then she bit her lip at her own rudeness.
Elsa didn't know how long she had been closing her eyes, but apparently enough time to ruin the dish; the berries and eggs were carbonized, and for once Bruni wasn't the cause of it.
She grumbled and projected some fresh air on the slate.
"I'm a disaster." She moaned. "How can I suck so bad at something so simple?"
"You're talented for many others things than cooking, don't worry."
Elsa startled; she was wrong thinking that the state of her breakfast was the only thing that would make her panic in that minute. She twirled around and met the gaze of a smiling brunette.
"Honeymaren!" She exclaimed, her hand over her heart.
The Northuldra gave an apologetic gesture, and joined her in front of the fire. "I figured that you would have troubles making breakfast on your own. Not that I doubt of you; that's why I let you try. But you have a tendency to daydream when you're happy…"
Elsa gave her a stare, and the brunette chuckled. "Magic and imagination and design is your kind of thing. I can handle meals if you want."
Now the Snow Queen blushed hard, and Honeymaren politely ignored it, smiling as she helped her clean the slate.
