[a/n] Glad Boltboy was a hit. Was pointed out he was poor at keeping his secret identity. Well, true. But then Hermione was uniquely qualified to unmask him. About how a Kryptonian sees thru Clark Kent.
Harry Does Different CCCLXXXIX
Lone Traveler IX Save Sev
LTrav prevents werewolf incident
That he was in Hogsmeade was not unusual for The Lone Traveler. It was unusual for him to be in one place for several days. Perhaps whatever was causing his constant time slips decided he needed a vacation. The inhabitants and store owners recognized the young-looking stranger as something beyond even their magical world. He was treated with respect, offered a meal and a room wherever he found himself. That it was the end of March 1975, he soon learned, but the date had no special meaning. But even as he was sitting down to a meal, the reason for his presence was unfolding in Hogwarts Grand Staircase.
"Hiya Sevvie! How's my favorite Slytherin?" a cheery boy in red and gold strutted up to his classmate and slapped him on the shoulder.
Severus Snape did not fall for that "What do you want Black?"
"You may have noticed me and Remus haven't exactly been getting along?" said the Marauder, ignoring the hostility.
To which Severus shrugged. He had noticed, but would not let on "As if I would care."
"No reason to be like that, Sev. I'm here to make your year. How long you been wondering what he's got to hide?" Sirius fairly exuded charm.
If anything, the young Slytherin looked more suspicious "Just like that? Five years? And you'll betray your Gryffindor mob? Why should I trust you?"
"Exactly!" exclaimed Sirius "And you should've seen him oogling my little cousin Dora. Why she's not even a Firstie yet! It's unnatural!"
This interested him, but he was still doubtful "Why don't you just report whatever it is yourself?"
"Well it's my sense of loyalty." The other boy closed his trap "It's exactly being friends with him so long. See, we've kept quiet so long I just …can't… at least not directly. Surely you've broken the spirit of the rules around here without violating the letter thereof. Allow me, in my humble way to suggest a visit to the Shrieking Shack? Tonight."
As the Slytherin departed, looking thoughtful a voice startled the Gryffindor "What're you and Snivilus up to Padfoot?"
"OH you know me Prongsie." A totally devilish grin became wild laughter.
James Potter determined to get out his cloak and watch developments closely.

AAAAAHHHHHHHRRRRRRROOOOOOOOOOOOOO! The howl split the air of Hogsmeade Village. Jim, as he was known, was nursing a Firewhiskey in the Hog's Head. He put all the pieces together in a flash. Only the word "Snape" was left at the bar. Before his glass hit the floor, the enigmatic visitor was gone.
"Believe me Snivilus, you do NOT want to go near there." James Potter was standing in the tunnel between his best friend and his worst enemy.
Suddenly furious, especially at the insult, the Slytherin lashed out with a stunner and left his nemesis behind.
"Sorry Dad." Harry got there just in time to see his father begin to stir. Was it a desire to protect his father? Just his 'saving people thing'? Or the Lone Traveler's desire to alter history? He banished a small rock right into the fallen teen's temple. And sprinted after the future Potion Master.
Severus Snape was standing there stunned. Whatever he suspected Remus Lupin of being, a werewolf was not at the top of his list. But he'd run into the room just in time to see the final transformation. Fear filled the teen's soul as the monster roared. Few fully trained Aurors could confront a werewolf without terror, could a boy be blamed for soiling his underwear? He stuttered "Buh-buh-Bloody H-h-hell!"
"Get out of here boy!" an angry voice commanded and a blue spell flashed past the teen's shoulder "Imperio!"
The werewolf charged and swung a massive paw at the two wizards. It roared when it was deprived of its prey. But the Unforgivable worked on the creature's brain. It stumbled. Whined. And curled up in a corner.
"H-how did you duh-do that?" Severus was shocked into near speechlessness.
Wand already out, the Lone Traveler turned it on the boy and fired "Obliviate!" Caught him before he hit the ground.

"Who? What? Where?" Severus Snape bolted upright and took in his surroundings "I'm in Common Room. How did I get here?"
Clad in Quidditch gear, an early riser glanced over "Fall asleep studying, Snape? Come on, let's goto breakfast."
"Thanks Black." Replied the other Slytherin. The two were friends, but he still ruthlessly buried his emotions.
Approaching the Great Hall the pair encountered Gryffindors who sneered at them "How's the night Snivilus? Anything interesting happen?"
"Why don't you bugger off Sirius?" the Slytherin Black interjected.
The Gryffindor Black snarled "You got a lousy choice in friends, little brother." He was very confused by the failure of his prank, but didn't dare ask. Remus wasn't due to return until tomorrow, so no information from him. Sirius didn't even know of James' Cloak escapade, who merely returned to his bed sporting a bruised temple. He'd have to think up something else to get back at Snivilus.
