Chapter 157: Alvarez Empire Arc: Pleasure and Pain

"Look closely at the person in front of you." Erza barked. "Is he the enemy? Or a friend? I don't know what happened, but don't give in to fleeting emotions. Think back. To when we grew up together."

"Gray, you big idiot!" Ulyo roared, breaking free of Juvia and smacking her lover across the face.

"Ow..." Gray felt the sting from the slap.

"Natsu and Erza seem to be okay, too." Wendy noted.

"Don't worry me like that." Lucy chided, hugging Natsu from the back.

"Natsu!" Happy leapt into Natsu's arms.

"Ulyo, ever wondered why the most important men of our lives are such complete and utter dumb asses?" Lucy cast a look at the other girl.

"It's the Y chromosome." Ulyo nodded sagely. "It's the only explanation."

"I couldn't agree more." Lucy concurred and both girls leveled an similar death glare at the two males in their arms.

"Everyone, get down!" Erza shouted, as Happy and Carla proceeded to deliver Natsu and Gray to Porlyusica. The shockwave knocked just about everyone to the ground.

"It's been quite a while, Erza." Irene greeted her daughter.

"Who are you?" Erza frowned.

"Erza, I am you, you are me." Irene replied.

Elsewhere...

"That was quite a flashy spell, indeed." Larcade appeared before Sorano and Yukino. "We lost a great many soldiers, thanks to it. I must really repay the favor or I'll be too ashamed to face my dad."

"He's one of the Twelve." Yukino recognized Larcade. "I saw him in the north."

"You're going to take us both on then?" Sorano scoffed.

"It's like I said, I'm repaying a favor." Larcade answered. "I'm paying back everyone who opposes us. May your spirits white into the open heavens and take flight." he expanded his Pleasure magic.

"Onee-sama!" Yukino gasped when Sorano fell to her knees, shivering by the intensity.

"What is this?" even Minerva was affected.

"What the..." Rouge fell over his feet.

"Laxus." Mavis turned, seeing Laxus was also affected by Larcade's magic. "My body... is so hot..." she gasped when the wave was spread to her.

With Erza's group...

"Now's your chance." Erza barked when Larcade's magic reached them, and affecting Irene. "Get them all to safety. I need to find out the truth of what's she's saying."

"I'll fight, too." Wendy erected a barrier to block out Irene's magical blast.

With Larcade...

After Zeref reminded him that his magic was also affecting their allies, Larcade released the Pleasure magic.

"My magic is pleasure." Larcade stated. "Those who knows its taste cannot escape my spell. Do you know what happens when someone is given relentless pleasure?"

"Open, Gate of the Twin Fish." with Sorano incapacitated, Yukino jumped into battle.

"They die." Larcade smirked, changing his Pleasure magic into black and white energy tendrils and have them wrap themselves around Yukino. "Ignorance and knowledge are like black and white. Now you, too, will know pleasure and pain." he injected his magic directly into Yukino.

"You talk about white, light and pleasure?" Kagura snorted, cutting the tentacles and freeing Yukino. "It's hard to believe you're partners with Zeref."

"We're aren't partners." Larcade corrected. "Zeref is my father."

"You're Zeref's son?" Kagura echoed.

"I am Larcade Dragoneel." Larcade introduced himself. "Son of Zeref Dragoneel. Did you know that Natsu is my father's younger brother? Which makes him my uncle. I looked forward to meeting him during this battle. After all, Father seems to care much more about Natsu than me. So it's only natural to despise him." he growled, released an array of 'Blades of Light'.

Kagura retaliated by slashing the energy blades with Archenemy. "Enough of your high and mighty talk." she snapped, dodging the next rain of 'Blade of Light'. "Get down here." she sliced the boulder Larcade was sitting on into two.

Anchoring his feet on the falling rock, Larcade used his Pleasure tentacles on Kagura. "It's your turn to learn pleasure and pain, too." he landed on the ground. "Humans cannot defy that instinct."

Biting her own tongue to prevent herself from being overtaken, Kagura slashed the tentacles into pieces. "That's some vulgar magic you have." she glared, shifting right in front of Larcade. "My Archenemy isn't any different, though. Receive your punishment!" she unleashed the 'Crawler Style'.

"You people have made some wrong assumptions after beating a few of the Twelve." Larcade tsked, stopping the blade with only two fingers. "August, Irene and I are different." he fended off Kagura's attacks effortlessly. "I love that look on your face." he grinned. "It's a look of resignation. You realize you can't win now. Don't worry." he whispered, blocking out Kagura's final attack and cutting Kagura on the abdomen. "The pain will eventually turn to pleasure. Earlier, you called my magic vulgar. In a way, perhaps it is. But you could also call it love. Because you get to die without any pain whatsoever."
