Unova Part 8

Ash and his group are back outside of Virbank City, they see Hugh battling against Team Plasma grunts, so the group decides to help them out and eventually they manage to arrest the grunts in the end. Hugh is angry that none of the grunts have his sister's Purrloin, so he just tells them that he is going to challenge Roxie and he bids them farewell. Serena and Gladion are also bidding them farewell as they are going back to Kalos and finding Emily respectively.

Ash and his friends are back to Castelia City, they have gone to the Sewers since an anonymous informs them that Team Plasma is in there. After defeating two grunts, they see two people also coming towards them.

"Ash? Lillie? Is that you?" The girl says, and Ash asks, "Elena and Uncle Colress...are you the real deal? Not the ones that tried to control us?"

Colress says, "We are the real deal, we are not the bad ones." After proving themselves, Lillie hugs Dr. Colress and she asks, "Uncle, why are you here?"

"We'll talk about it later, care to introduce the others behind you?" Elena asks, and Ash introduces the two to them. Iris asks, "So he is not the Dr. Colress we met in the Floccasy Ranch?"

"No, he is our real uncle." Lilie says.

"We are here not only for the evil version of our father but also myself." Elena says.

"You mean Hunter E? Ever since we stopped her from getting Regigigas in the Snowpoint Temple, we haven't seen her..." Ash says.

"Indeed, and we think that she might be in the Unova Region, trying to find a way to give out revenge to you for sending Hunter J back." Colress says.

"Then it really is worse." Lillie mutters. "I mean...no wonder we haven't seen her back in the Sinnoh Region after that."

Colress says, "By the way, could you tell me about what my evil self is doing?"

"Of course." Ash says as he tells them about the EM Waves, and he frowns, "Ash, Lillie. Do you remember the EM wave machines that I confiscated before? It was actually stolen from Team Plasma."

"Wait, so does that mean the EM waves that they used to control Pokemon...are made by us?" Ash gasps and the man just frowns.

"So you two can build machines?" Cilan asks, and Lillie says, "We can, but I can't believe that our machines would be used against us..."

"I know." Elena says, "Dad's research is to bring out the true power of Pokemon, so we are going to try to create a machine that will counter the EM waves."

"And we have these machines so that you won't be controlled." Colress says as he gives them the machines, they take the machines and thank the two of them.

After bidding farewell to the group, the two of them walk deeper to Castelia Park, and they see a woman standing in front of them. Colress says, "For some reason, this place has become our hideout."

The woman is Agent Daybreak, and she says, "Though it is ironic because you two are hiding from your evil selves, and I was hiding because a lot of people thought we were dead."

"But why didn't you come with us so that Ash would know you are still alive? It will be a heartbreak for him to know you were dead."

"Believe me, I would want to hug him and tells him that I am still alive, Golly as well. But until Team Plasma and Team Rocket are gone, I can't show myself in front of them."

"Team Rocket...by the way, that evil version of your brother did give you a fatal slash, right? Are you still alright?" Colress asks, and Aurora smiles, "Of course, I think it is healed up a little, thanks to my husband and you guys for helping us."

Once they go back to the surface, Ash enters the contest first, he uses Gardevoir, Gothitelle, and Gallade to make a Psychic show, making him pass the first round. In the final round, Ash mega evolves Gothitelle, which makes the lower half of the black dress into black pants. It doesn't change too much, only the stats are higher than normal. With the help of this Pokemon, he wins the Contest and takes the third ribbon.

"You are really fast at collecting those Contest Ribbons, I mean...you only need two more to enter the Grand Festival."

"I know, all the experience I got is making me do well...I just hope that my mother would be able to see it..." Ash frowns.

Golly says, "Brother, we are both sad at Mother's death, but we have to move on." Ash nods as they head to the gym.

Once they arrive at the Catelia City Gym, Burgh greets them and shows them around the gym. Ash looks at the silks and says, "Wow, why is this place looks like they are full of String Shots?"

"Well, I want to give a challenge for the ones who want to challenge me. The top floor is the Greenhouse, and I will be waiting for you to get there." Burgh says.

Ash has climbed up several different ways and gets to the Greenhouse, the referee announces that the battle will be three-on-three.

Burgh's first Pokémon is Dwebble, and Ash sends out his Tepig. Iris says, "A Fire Type is a good choice against the Dwebble."

"But Dwebble is also a Rock Type." Golly says, "I am not sure that Tepig will be doing great."

Tepig attacks first with Tackle, but Dwebble dodges it. Tepig tries again, but Dwebble uses Dig to avoid it and strike Tepig.

"Let me tell you something, my Dwebble's rock shell is actually lighter than average, so it gives Dwebble more speed. Use X-Scissor!"

Ash is surprised that the attack goes so fast and then Tepig gets hit by the attack.

Dwebble uses Protect to nullify Tepig's Ember before launching X-Scissor, which Tepig responds with Tackle. Ash decides to order a Flame Charge all-in, but another Protect stops it. With Tepig close, Dwebble uses Rock Wrecker to take out Tepig.

"How about a Bug battle, Sewaddle, I choose you!" Ash calls his second Pokemon out.

Sewaddle fires Razor Leaf, but Protect once against stalls it. Dwebble charges with X-Scissor, but Sewaddle fires String Shot at the ceiling to dodge. Protect stops Sewaddle's Bug Bite counterattack before firing Rock Wrecker. Sewaddle once again uses String Shot to dodge and retaliate with Razor Leaf, but Protect once again stops it.

When Dwebble fires another Rock Wrecker, Sewaddle uses String Shot to wrap and stop it. Sewaddle's Tackle hits before Dwebble can use X-Scissor, which separates Dwebble from its shell. Sewaddle keeps Dwebble from its shell with rapid Razor Leaf and Tackle pressure, knocking it out.

For his second, Burgh sends out Whirlipede. Lillie says, "Grass and Bug Type aren't going to be effective against the Poison Type..."

"But knowing Brother, he would continue using the Sewaddle." Golly says.

Ash keeps Sewaddle in, having it dodge a Poison Sting attack with String Shot. Sewaddle fires String Shot on Whirlipede, but Whirlipede simply spins in place to break it. A Steamroller attack hits Sewaddle hard, and a follow-up attack couldn't be stopped by Sewaddle's Razor Leaf. Sewaddle tries to retaliate with Bug Bite, but Whirlipede's Iron Defense easily repulses it.

Whirlipede lands another Steamroller before trying a knockout shot SolarBeam. Sewaddle surprisingly takes it and glows with light, evolving into Swadloon.

Unova Dex Entry No.48 Swadloon: The Leaf-Wrapped Pokémon. Bug and Grass Type. Evolved from Sewaddle at LV:20. Preferring dark, damp places, it spends the entire day eating fallen leaves that lie around it.

"Ah, a Swadloon, it is also my favorite Pokemon." Burgh says.

Swadloon fires String Shot onto Whirlipede, but it once again shreds it. Swadloon tries to dodge a Steamroller with String Shot, but Whirlipede runs into the string, cutting it. Whirlipede prepares to attack again, but an Energy Ball attack stops that. One Tackle attack is enough to take Whirlipede out of the match.

Burgh sends out his final Pokémon Leavanny, the guardian of the Gym. Swadloon fires Energy Ball, but Leavanny uses Protect to stop it before using String Shot to cover Swadloon. Ash has Swadloon fires Razor Leaf on itself, breaking the strings but inflicting residual damage on itself. Swadloon is unable to dodge a powerful Leaf Storm and a follow-up Hyper Beam, finally taking it out of the match.

"Return, Swadloon." Ash recalls his second Pokemon, and he says, "Sylveon. I need your assistance."

Sylveon nods as she jumps to the field, it fires the Moonblast, but Leavanny simply ducks to avoid it. Leavanny uses Protect to stop Sylveon's Iron Tail before retaliating with Leaf Storm, but Fairy Wind cancels it. Sylveon soon finds itself trapped by Leavanny's String Shot. With its tail all wrapped up, Sylveon is way off balance and having trouble aiming. After several attempts to shake off the sticky string fails, Ash sends Sylveon diving straight into Leavanny's Leaf Storm. It's a risky move, but the sharp leaves cut right through the strings, and Sylveon is free! Back up to speed, Sylveon defeats Leavanny with a powerful Moonblast.

"Well done, Ash. You deserve this Insect Badge." Burgh says as he presents him the badge.

Ash takes the badge from him and thanks to him. Then they bid farewell and leave the city.

Here is a new chapter, and I did mention that Hunter J was sent back to its own world, but what about Hunter E? She will be here in the Unova Region as well. And Ash also got his fourth gym badge and I hope you like it. The next chapter will be more Pokemon capturing and more rival meeting.
