Blue skies wrapped snug around a smoke signal in the heart of the city. Mileena stepped through the portal with Tanya and Kia to the flat roof of Kitana's palace.

The half-Tarkatan could could hear the roar of the crowd beneath, like royal rats in kitten skin. This was the empire Kitana barely held on her shoulders, much like Outworld had been.

Guided down and hidden from the world, she was quickly escorted to a chamber closed off from the outside world and brought before the Protectors of Earthrealm. Raiden ruffled through his pauper's robe to present Mileena with Kitana's own clothing.

"Where is she?" Mileena stayed her hand from the clothes.

"We don't know." Fujin disappointed her.

In a single swipe, she accepted the silk and fabrics. There was no question that it would fit, but would the people see through it?

"I will do this under one condition, Thunder God." She stopped them, there was no need for modesty in this dire moment.

"Speak, Construct." Raiden narrowed his eyes.

"Kotal Kahn wishes to speak with you immediately."

There was nothing else spoken. The deity passed her with a fluid step, close behind Tanya. As the God of Wind turned for her, she unfolded the black and blue clothing. Her boots at her side, everything still held her sister's scent.

When he turned with expectations of Mileena having been clothed and Kitana to stand before him, the clothing was gone, and so was Mileena.

Beyond Kitana's personal chambers was a balcony she could stand to address, or look over the city. Fujin found Mileena here, Kitana's clothing in her hand, and her face bared for the howling masses.

This was not the plan.

To the crowd beneath, mixed races all pushed and fought to rake the royals across the coals, she dropped Kitana's clothing down to them. Smacked in the face with this, all eyes shot up, like a dog that's found its fox.

"I am Mileena, sister to Kitana, and Princess of Edenia!" She addressed them.

Fujin stood silent and cold. Joined by Sonya, Takeda, and Kung Jin, the others not long to follow that could fit in the room.

The balcony door had been sealed behind her, she now stood over the chaos.

"I am fast, ghastly, and unforgiving. My sister is the Queen of Edenia, and unlike Sindel, has brought all races of the realms to this one city, whether you like one another or not." She added, "We are real, and you can't hide. If you don't like the new Edenia she has created, you're going to hate me."

Her maw widened, the blood of her gums dripped and the Tarkatans cheered. Morbid curiosity killed the Edenian half as they watched, Kitana's clothes pooled beneath their feet.

"Sindel only cared about herself, and I'm sure many of you, like myself, felt outcast, or forced into poverty so she could live the life of a Queen." She continued, "I am half Edenia, half Tarkata, and every bit the savage you have shown yourselves to be."

She turned to those locked out of the balcony.

"Open the palace doors. You hand them a shovel and expect them to dig their own graves? That's not the Edenia my sister wanted. That's not the Edenia I will have."

Beneath, as none would move from the other room, the doors cracked, and Reptile pushed the great stone portals open. The chaos met with chaos.

"You live because my sister saved all of you, immigrants, natives, and constructs." She ordered, "It is Sindel that gouged out your eyes, and ripped out your tongues, so why listen to her? I offer each and every one of you to storm the palace, to tear her memory down and take what you please. This is our Edenia."

Fujin appeared beside her. Unsure to pull her away or off the balcony, or to stand at her side, he watched the crowd reaction to the rather chaotic speech of what her twisted mind must have been about unity.

"If they storm the palace?" He pondered.

"It's their palace, not yours." She touched his chest, balled his collar and pulled him close to her maw. "You going to tell them otherwise, daddy?"

He flattened himself out as she pushed away to watch the crowd. From the watery realm, Rain stood at her left with Taven, and just like that, Fujin chose to stand at her right, silent, unsure, and just hoped Kitana was still alive.

She let a smile curve across her wide maw, having struck a nerve in the God. She felt the need to set him at ease, or perhaps harden him further, but after an ugly pause and the last man standing at the gates being Reptile, she turned to the Wind God to address Raiden's army through him.

"Sindel was an abusive bitch, she deserves to be torn down, just like Shao Kahn."

"Through chaos?"

"Through unity."
