Chapter 180
Hiccups POV:
My head felt as if it'd been continuously beaten with a Chinese hammer making me groan in pain as I seemed to float around in the darkness that filled my vision. As I floated there in the darkness, I thought back to what happened after I had freed the red dragon Zhūlóng who was happy to be reunited with his brethren. I was watching the reunion while wondering what I was going to do with them since I'd been so focused on giving them back their freedom that I didn't think about what to do with them afterwards. While I thought of this a voice from behind me claimed that they wouldn't have their freedom for long and neither would I before everything went black.
I slowly opened my eyes but quickly shut them as I hissed in pain due to the unexpected bright light shining right into my right eye before I rubbed my eye and slowly opened it along with my other eye once more to give it time to adjust which is not something the eye of the dragon needed. I looked around to see where I was and found myself in a large room with a gold colored floor, tall walls that seemed to reach the sky, fifteen golden pillars on either side of me that were as tall as the wall, a bright yellow light shining down on me from the ceiling which didn't seem to exist and in front of me about ten feet away was a staircase with jade stepping stones leading up. On either side of this staircase were two men dressed like royal guards, armed with spears which like their armor was made of shining jade. My eyes were then turned to what was at the top of those steps was a large platform with a jade throne that was lined with gold and had multiple jewels embedded in it.
On the right side was thrones that weren't as large but nonetheless and sitting on it was none other than Xiwangmu, queen of the Chinese gods who looked at me in both guilt and sadness. On the larger throne was an elderly man with jade green eyes, long grey hair braided back in a long ponytail, a long beard that reached past his chest in length and he was wearing a dark navy blue kimono with jade green linings and jade dragon wrapped around it. I immediately realized the man glaring down at me was none other than the jade emperor himself who did not look the least bit pleased with me. I stood up and realized my arms were chained to the floor with jade shackles like the ones that held the four dragon kings and they glowed whenever I pulled them and to make matters worse, I'd been stripped of my armor, my gear leaving me in just my pants and I could feel something wrong with my prosthetic. It was then the Jade Emperor spoke in a voice that seemed to echo through the room.
"Hiccup Haddock, do you know who I am and why you're here?"
"I'm guessing you're the Jade Emperor and you've brought me because I freed the four dragon kings from their unjust imprisonment."
"Their punishment was just as they chose to act without coming to me for permission." I glared at him.
"Before they did anything, they came to you asking you to end the suffering of the people who were begging you for rain and continued to make offerings only for you to ignore their cries for help." I took a breath. "The dragons did come to you first begging you to send the people rain and only left when you told them you'd send rain to the people the next day but when they checked on the people once more they discovered you hadn't done as you said you would." I clenched my fists. "Those dragons did what needed to be done in order to save countless lives knowing they'd be punished for it but still even in prison they desired to help the people and created the four great rivers." I looked up at him. "They saved the lives of countless people who worship you and in return you imprisoned them, it makes me sick." He glared down at me.
"I am a very busy god Hiccup Haddock; I don't have time to deal with the problems of mortals."
"You gave the dragons your word and you broke it so I can't blame the dragons for simply looking after the people like you should have."
"The business of mortals means very little to me as they are, but ants compared to my kind." He then looked at me in a way that made me feel a little uncomfortable. "You on the other hand aren't like other mortals." I raised an eyebrow.
"What do you mean?"
"Do not underestimate my minion's abilities to gather information mortal." He then frowned. "I knew something was going on the second my stone guards were activated in the prison of the black dragon and when I saw how you handled them on I decided to have my minions investigate you and from that I learnt about all you had done."
"I thought all the gods of this land knew about what I'd done after me being brought to the tea to be rewarded for handling the general and the snake queen."
"I also heard about that, but I couldn't be bothered with it like the gods I rule over."
"This brings up the question as to why you've brought me here instead of just shipping me into some prison for freeing the dragon kings."
"Because you have done something that no mortal has ever done before." I raised an eyebrow. "You were actually able to impress me, and I'm not easily impressed by other gods and a mortal impressing me was believed impossible." He smiled. "This leads to the offer I have for you." I didn't like the sound of this. "I will forgive you for releasing those beasts and give you and that beast you call your mount power neither of you have never known."
He waved his hand an illusion of me appeared but I was wearing black Chinese armor with a jade green nightfury head on the disk that was on the chest and my hair was tied up in a tight bun held in a jade ring that had a hairpin going through it. My prosthetic was turned from gold to a black metal with a glowing jade green marking of a nightfury on the shoulder and the tree of life on top of the hand and changed to a Chinese symbol for the Jade an illusion of Toothless appeared but he was wearing his battle armor that was made of jade and along with this he was twice his real size and the blue glow he has when he goes into alpha mode was jade green. The most different thing about him though was the look in his eye that showed no form of kindness or the gentle soul I knew he had, all I saw was fury and pure power in them making my stomach clench in disgust.
"All I ask in return for this is you take a place at my side as one of my generals serving only me and doing as your ordered such as taking on demons in the land or mortals that have grown too arrogant and in return this power will be yours and you shall be given your own home in the mountains." A small model of a palace appeared. "This palace could be a paradise for both you and those females you came to this land with." Another illusion appeared but this one was of both Blanca and Astrid both in kimono's and smiling at me. "And to get all this you'll just have to simply pledge your loyalty to me and serve me for the remainder of eternity which will mostly just be handling demons that pop up every once in a while, and the occasional other problem." I glared at him.
"You honestly think I'd agree to serve a god like you who would break his word, leave his worshipers to suffer after they continue to turn to him for help and punishes the ones who do his job for him?" Before he could reply I continued with. "We mortals have a few names for men like you, but I'd rather not say them in the presence of a lady." I said this last part while looking at Xiwangmu before turning back to him. "But one word I can use to describe you is lazy."
"WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY?"
"I said what you are as the gods are meant to look after their worshipers but you couldn't be bothered to get off your throne and bring rain to prevent them from starving to death and return life to their lands which is something the dragons did in your place." I took a breath. "And now you're trying to recruit me making it seem like you want me as a general when you really just want someone else to take on the demons that you're meant to handle despite the fact that I serve all the people of Midgard and the gods who watch over them." He growled before a cruel smile came to his face.
"Well if you won't accept my offer then I believe it's time for your punishment." He waved his hand and the floor opened up before a platform rose up out of it but it was what was on the platform that caught my attention since on it was Toothless who's limbs and neck were shackled with jade chains and when he saw me he roared and tried to break free of the chains. "Take a good look at your dragon Hiccup Haddock as this is the last time you shall see him." I struggled against the chains trying to get to him, but it was then the chains began pulling back out the large jade door behind me. "Oh, and don't think the other gods will come to your aid as the gods are forbidden from entering the domains of other gods so if they came it would start a war and nobody wants that." I ignored him and struggled while looking at my dragon as I cried out.
"TOOTHLESS!" When I was out the door the last thing, I saw was him struggling and screeching as the doors closed.
One week later
It's been a week since I was captured and, in that time, nothing's really happened since my arms were bound by jade shackles that had chains that were built into the black stone floor. The rest of the room was made of the same material with one open hole in the ceiling shining light down on me that never stopped shining and to make matters worse when I pulled the chains it felt as if burning daggers were being stabbed into my body. Surrounding me were the four dragon kings all chained to the ground like me and the reason we were all in this prison together was the Jade Emperor said if I cared for dragons so much, I should share a cell with them. This was the one and only time I'd been visited by him and used it to ask him what he'd done with Toothless to which he only laughed and walked out making me worry.
Besides him I've also been visited by Xiwangmu who apologized from getting me into this situation by giving me the key to freeing the dragon kings. She wanted to free them as they were simply doing what needed to be done in order to help the people who worshiped the gods and the children who were dying everyday due to lack of food and water. She couldn't stay long though since the Jade Emperor would get suspicious but what made me worry was when I asked about Toothless and she just looked down and claimed that it was better I don't know. This made me worry more for my best friend but besides her the only company I'd gotten was from the four dragon kings who'd been silent these past few days. It was then the doors were pushed open by a man with a small beard covering his chin, his hair tied up in a ring with a pin going through it with him wearing dark green formal armour. It didn't take a genius to know he was one of the Jade Emperors men, but he seemed familiar somehow. He walked up to me as I asked.
"And you are?"
"I am General Yue Fei, former general of the Chinese army and one of the current generals serving the Jade Emperor." My eyes widened.
"General Yue Fei, the general who once lead an army of five hundred men against an army of one hundred thousand and came out victorious?" He nodded.
"I see you have heard of my greatest victory."
"Indeed, and I also heard about how you were torn between joining the army and caring for your elderly mother." He nodded.
"Honor and duty demanded I join the army to protect my country from invaders and when my time came the Jade Emperor offered me a position as one of his generals."
"So, did you come by just to tell me your life story or did you have another reason?"
"I am curious to know why you not only went against the will of my master and then turned down his offer." Before I could reply he asked. "Have you no honor?" My eyes widened at this. "To go against one of the countries guardians and then spit on one of the offers to have one of the greatest honors given to you." I chuckled as I looked down.
"Greatest guardian?" I looked up at him. "He may have been that once, but he became arrogant and lazy with time and didn't even lift a finger to end the drought that was destroying the land and killing the people." I gestured to the dragons the best I could. "This was something these four dragons brought to his attention, but he still did nothing and when they did it he punished them for it but despite their imprisonment they still served the people by creating the rivers." I took a breath. "I have to admit though, I am surprised to see you serving such an uncaring god like the Jade Emperor."
"It is my honor and duty to serve him." I chuckled.
"There was a time when I felt the same way but then I figured out the truth." He raised an eyebrow.
"The truth?"
"Sometimes there's a thin line between doing your duty and doing what's honorable." He glared at me.
"You're lying!" I shrugged.
"It's all how you look at things like how I look at you now." He looked down at me. "You were once the mighty general Yue Fei, hero of China and one of the greatest men ever to walk upon the land but now you're a man who's forgotten what true honor is and been reduced to a dog that serves the dictator the Jade Emperor has become."
He just let out a huff and left the room leaving me alone with the dragons and my thoughts on how I could possibly get out of this situation. I knew it wouldn't be easy since this was the work of the gods, but I'd been up against impossible odds before including going up against the king of the titans Chronos who was able to control time. This time however was going to be far more difficult since last time I had Gaia help free me from Chronos's prison and she couldn't come here nor could any of the other gods due to this being a different gods realms and the gods of this realm were too scared by the power of the Jade Emperor to help me. The only ones who could help me were the dragon kings who were imprisoned here with me and Toothless and I didn't know what fate had befallen my best friend.
It was then I was brought out of my thoughts by a growling coming from the four dragons along with a bright glowing coming from between each of their clawed forelegs which they each held in front of their bodies. For a few moments I just stood there watching them while wondering what was going on until they slammed their palms together making a sound like thunder before there were four blinding bright flashes each colored like the dragons who made them. When the light died, I found myself alone in the room since in place of the dragons there were with floating pearls, the same size as my head and were the same colors as the dragons floating above the shackles that once held the dragons. I looked around at them confused before they floated down to my level and began circling me, slowly at first but quickly sped up to the point that they were a combined coloured blur that was closing in on me.
It was then the rotating orbs stopped and floated for a single second before flying fast and hard into my body and I felt as if my body had been lit on fire from the inside. Just as quickly as it came the burning vanished leaving me feeling power flow through my body and it also felt as if I were invincible. My mind then flooded with information and it all made sense as to what happened to the dragons and what's happening to me. The four dragon kings knew alone none of us would be able to escape from the shackles or this palace but together we stood a chance so they channeled their power into the giant pearls that they embedded into my body giving me their combined strength. I smiled at this but knew that there was still a chance we could be defeated so for now I needed to bust out of this cell and with the power I now had I didn't think this was going to be a problem.
I took a breath and yanked the chains of the shackles on my arms and smiled as they shattered to pieces allowing me freedom to walk up towards the door leading into the room. I slammed my palms into them, and they flew right off the hinges and into the opposite wall making me smile before I walked out and turned to the sound of footsteps. I saw soldiers like the ones I faced in the dragon's prisons running at me, but these ones were made of pure jade and holding spears. I glared at them and got ready for a fight that I wanted to end quick since the only thing I wanted was to find Toothless and undo whatever the Jade Emperor did to him before making him pay for not only the pain he's caused but also for everything else.
10 minutes later
Nobodies POV:
It's been ten minutes since Hiccup broke out of the room that acted as his cell using the power of the four dragon kings and in that time Hiccup's been doing nothing but making his way to the throne room while dealing with the jade soldiers trying to stop him. It was because of this he failed to notice the new tattoo on his back between his wings lower part with it taking the form of the four dragon kings coiling themselves into a spiral with the four heads on the outer ring facing sideways and the symbol for Yin and Yang in the center of them. This tattoo formed when the dragons entered his body and was a sign from them to show their power now resided within him and that they trusted him with it.
The halls were now littered with the scattered remaining jade pieces of the statues that stood no chance against Hiccup and his fighting skills that far surpassed theirs and with the power of the four dragon kings they stood no chance. Hiccup finally made it to the doors leading to the throne room and growled as he slammed the palms of his hands into the large bejewelled jade door breaking it down and the sound of stone hitting stone echoed through the room as the Jade Emperor stood up. He looked down at Hiccup in shock as Hiccup asked in a growl.
"Where's my dragon?" The Jade Emperor shock turned to amusement.
"So, you want your dragon back?" Before Hiccup could reply he raised his hand and one of the pillars lowered down to show something that shocked Hiccup. "Here's your precious dragon." Hiccup didn't respond as he stared at his dearest friend who was now nothing more than a jade statue with his expression being one of pain. "This is what you get for defying my will, mortal dragon rider."
Hiccup growled and looked at him.
"You're going to pay for what you've done to my dragon." He smirked.
"You're not going to get the chance." He raised his hand and jade warriors formed out of the floor surrounding him. "You can always surrender now and save us the trouble." Hiccup just growled and let out a large pulse of the dragon's powers causing all the jade soldiers to shatter making the Jade Emperor stand up in shock, but Hiccup just smirked.
"Did you honestly think it would be that easy."
Hiccup began walking towards the throne just as the two men who stood at the staircase lowered their spears and charged at him, but he just smiled and kept walking calmly towards them. When their spears were within range of him, they thrust the heads forward, but Hiccup grabbed them and pulled them towards him making the guards stumble before pushing them back into the guts of the men. The guards let go of the spear poles as Hiccup dropped the spears while walking forward and grabbing the men by their hair and slammed their heads together knocking them both out. Hiccup walked past the now downed men and looked up at the Jade Emperor as he said.
"Calling your minions to handle me just proves that you're a coward." He glared at Hiccup.
"What do you mean?"
"Just admit it, you're too afraid to fight me when I have the power of the four dragon kings running through my body." He growled.
"I fear nothing."
"Then why don't you prove it and come down from your precious pedestal to take me on yourself." The Jade Emperor growled and stood up from his throne while allowing his robe too to fall onto it revealing the muscular body of a man in his prime.
"I'll show you what happens to those who anger a god Hiccup Haddock." Hiccup just smiled.
"Bring it on old man."
The Jade Emperor jumped from his place on the platform soaring high above the stairs until he began to descend back to the floor landing on the ground just before the stairs. When he landed the floor beneath him shattered as a large shock wave flew through hall throwing back everything in its path that wasn't nailed or planted down except for Hiccup who just stood firm against the wave of force when it hit him. When the dust cleared Hiccup smiled at the Jade Emperor as he cracked his neck and rolled his shoulders before he glared at the Jade Emperor and charged at him at speeds that matched the speed of his ox flame boots speed mode.
He slammed his prosthetic fist forward right towards the head of the Jade Emperor but before it could reach him the Jade Emperor held up his hand stopping it as a thunder like sound echoed through the room and dust flew in the air. When the dust cleared Hiccups, fist was caught in the hand of the Jade Emperor who pulled his free had back while turning it into a fist and slammed it forward into Hiccups gut just as he let go of Hiccups fist. The air was knocked out of Hiccup as he flew back into one of the pillars smashing into it while also making the pillar crumble from where he hit it. Hiccup groaned in pain as he stood back up and glared at the Jade emperor who just smirked but before he could begin walking to Hiccup to finish him off Hiccup growled and slammed his fist into the ground.
The ground shook due to the strength of the blow throwing the rubble that was once the pillar up into the air making Hiccup smile before he began hitting and kicking them towards the Jade Emperor. The Jade Emperor stood his ground and struck the rubble with is hands smashing the large pieces of rubble or knocking them back into other coming pieces knocking them down. When the final pieces were being taken care of Hiccup used the small amount of time that the Jade Emperor was distracted to run up one of the still standing pillars. He then used his legs to push himself off it and towards the Jade Emperor, flipping in mid-air so he was flying towards the Jade Emperor in a flying kick.
The Jade Emperor looked up at Hiccups flying form just as Hiccups foot contacted his chest sending him flying back while Hiccup flipped back landing in a crouch. The Jade Emperor stumbled back from the blow before chuckling as he looked at Hiccup with a look in his eye as if he were asking Hiccup if that was all he had. The Jade Emperor spat on the ground before slamming his foot into the ground making a large jade boulder fly out of the floor before he slammed his fist into it sending it flying at Hiccup. Hiccups eyes widened before he tuck and rolled out of the way of the boulder avoiding the boulder but just barely since it was moving so fast. Hiccup turned back to the Jade Emperor and charged at him again, but the Jade emperor stood his ground and waited for Hiccup to try and deliver his blow.
When Hiccup was close, he dropped to the floor sliding across it catching the Jade Emperor by surprise as he slid across the floor before sweeping his leg when he reached the Jade Emperor hitting him at the back of his legs. The Jade Emperor fell back but caught himself and did a back flip getting him back onto his own two feet before turning back to Hiccup who had stood up and swung a punch at his head. The Jade Emperor caught Hiccups wrist and twisted Hiccups arm making him scream in pain as his body was turned so his back was facing the Jade Emperor.
Hiccup grabbed the Jade Emperors wrist with his restrained hand and flipped his arm back into place while twisting the Jade Emperors arm making him bend over. Hiccup hopped onto the Jade Emperors back and slid across it twisting the Jade Emperors arm behind it, but the Jade Emperor was quick to recover and turned his body bringing his arm back into place while loosening Hiccups grip on him. With the grip on his arm loosened he thrust his arm forward, slamming it into Hiccups chest making him let go and stumble back before the Jade Emperor rushed up and grabbed Hiccups real arm and threw Hiccup into the stairs.
With the power of the dragons running through his body he was able to survive with only a few bruises and a few cracked ribs, but the blow was still very painful when he hit the stairs. Hiccup growled in pain but before he could get up however the Jade Emperor ran up and grabbed him by his neck and lifting him up making Hiccup grab at his arm trying to get him to let go. The Jade Emperor just chuckled as he walked away from the crater the impact of Hiccups landing caused and made his way towards Toothless' jade body that was still standing on its pedestal. He held Hiccup in front of the statue and chuckled before he said.
"Take a look at your dragon mortal." He pulled Hiccup away. "Nothing but a lifeless statue with no hope of freedom from this form." Hiccup growled.
"You're wrong!" He coughed up a little blood that splattered onto the ground. "Toothless is still alive, I can feel him through the bond we share and as long as that bond exists, you'll never defeat either of us." The Jade Emperor tightened his grip on Hiccups neck.
"You're a fool if you believe that." Hiccup choked due to his air being cut off. "If you believe it then try asking your dragon for help." He shoved Hiccup towards Toothless before Hiccup looked up at him in pain.
"Toothless, I know you can hear me bud and I know you can break free of the jade." Hiccup took a breath. "I believe in you bud and I know together we are capable of accomplishing anything." He turned to glare at the Jade Emperor. "I know we can even go so far as to defeat a god." The Jade Emperor chuckled.
"You're wasting your time mortal." He then turned away from Toothless and held Hiccup up. "My power keeps that dragon imprisoned in his current form and there's nothing anyone can do about it." Hiccup glared at him, neither noticing the feint dark blue glow within the jade of Toothless' body that was growing fast.
"You're wrong, I know Toothless can break your spell because" Hiccup took a breath. "I BELIEVE IN MY DRAGON!"
As soon as those words left his mouth the light filled Toothless' body drawing the attention of both men just as it exploded making the Jade Emperor drop Hiccup in shock. They both turned in the direction of the explosion floating ball of light that was the same blue Toothless glowed when he went into alpha mode, and it was floating above the shards that was once Toothless' statue. Hiccup stared at the floating ball of light from his place on the ground right before it shot at him and flew right into his chest as his body floated up while his injuries faded and healed. Hiccup could feel his nightfurys power flowing through his body, followed by a burst of power that made it feel as if the power the four dragon kings gave him doubled in strength before he was lowered down to the ground. The Jade Emperor stared at him, as he asked.
"What was that?" Hiccup just smiled and said.
"I told you, me and my dragon have a bond and as long as that bond exists, you'll never defeat us."
He then rushed forward at speeds that was twice as fast as his ox flame boots speed mode and slammed his fist into the stomach of the Jade Emperors gut making him cough and spit up some blood. Hiccup then grabbed his arm and flipped him over slamming the Jade Emperor into the ground creating a large crater where the body struck. Before the Jade Emperor could recover Hiccup grabbed his arm once more and spun him around while moving between the pillars and then let go throwing him into the pillar on his right smashing through it and into the four pillars after it. Hiccup began making his way towards the Jade Emperor who just stood up breathing heavily as he said.
"You won't beat me that easily mortal."
He then raised his hands with his palms facing and launched a ball of jade green light, but Hiccup just flung his real arm forward as if he were throwing something launching his own plasma blast. When the blasts met there was a small explosion kicking up dust and when it cleared both men were standing across from each other, but the Jade Emperor had weakened but his strength was coming back fast. Hiccup knew this needed to end soon and the only way to do harnessing the power of all four dragon kings and Toothless and putting it all into one final blow but he knew that doing so would leave him weakened and vulnerable so he only had one shot at it. He clenched his real hand into a fist as smaller versions of the dragon kings formed and wrapped themselves around his arm while rapidly spinning and taking the form of a whirlpool with Toothless' head forming on the fist with an open mouth ready to blast. Hiccup glared at his opponent as he yelled out.
"THIS ENDS NOW!" Hiccup charged at the Jade Emperor at full speed and yelled out. "DÀ XUÁNWŌ LÓNG QUÁN!"
Which translated means 'Maelstrom Dragon Fist' before he rammed his fist right into the Jade Emperor stomach knocking the air right out of his lungs as the sound of dragon roars filled the room. As the roars filled the room the glowing transparent images of four dragons flew out of the back of the Jade Emperor with Toothless in the middle of the four. The images circled above the two combatants before slowly fading out of existence as Hiccup pulled his fist away making the Jade Emperor fall to the ground looking like a brittle old man. Hiccup lowered his torso while breathing heavily and resting his hands on his knees as the doors burst open to reveal general Yue Fei holding golden shackles in his hands making the Jade Emperor smile and say.
"Excellent timing general and good work bringing the power binding shackles." He then pointed at Hiccup. "Arrest that mortal for attacking me and an attempt on my life."
Hiccup took a breath knowing he didn't stand a chance in his current condition and closed his eyes ready to have his power bound with the shackles, but it never came. The sound of shackles being closed followed by a cry of outrage echoed through the room as Hiccup opened his eyes to see Yue Fei had placed the shackles on the Jade Emperor who was looking at him in outrage. Before either Hiccup or the Jade Emperor could say anything, Yue Fei said.
"For your crimes of corruption, I am placing you under arrest." Hiccup looked in shock as he asked.
"What happened to doing your duty?" He turned to him with a smile.
"Sometimes there's a thin line between doing your duty and doing what's honourable." Hiccup smiled as Xiwangmu walked in.
"Well said General." She then turned to her shackled husband. "Now would you please take my husband to the dungeon for now until me and the other gods can come up with a suitable punishment for his crimes." He nodded as he dragged the yelling god out of the room before turning and smiling at Hiccup who smiled back before he collapsed from the toll the battle took on his mind and body.
1 week later
Hiccups POV:
It's been a week since I defeated the Jade Emperor and in that time a lot has happened though three of those days had been spent lying in bed unconscious while under the watchful eyes Toothless. When I woke up, I learnt they were all restored after leaving my body shortly after I blacked out from the amount of strain the battle took on my body. When I did wake up fully, I learnt everything that had happened like how the dragons were restored, the damage done in the battle repaired and above all the fate of the Jade Emperor. Apparently, none of the gods were happy with him and his behavior feeling he'd become too arrogant and needed to be humbled so he was stripped of his powers and memories before being sent down to the mortal realm to be reborn into a peasant family. He'd get it all back once he's lived the life of a simple peasant and gained an understanding of how difficult life is for mortals and a little bit of sympathy for them.
The rest of my time was spent in the bed allowing my body time to fully heal and recover since taking in the power of the dragon really did some harm. During this time Toothless never left my bedside, constantly watching over me and ensuring no harm came to me while I was recovering. Besides them the only other company I got was from the servant girls who came by to deliver mine and Toothless' meals, bring me books to read in order to pass the time and a washcloth and basin to wash myself. It was during one of my scrub downs I learnt of my backs new tattoo between the lower parts of my wings and after asking about it I learnt what it meant from a servant who came to collect the basin and cloth. When I asked if this meant the dragons were still within me, she shook her head but before I could ask more she continued by telling me all would be explained when it came time for me to return to the mortal realm.
Now I was back in my usual attire with my weapons back in my prosthetic or spiderpack, standing on top of the mountain where I first met the gods, standing at the gate leading back to the mortal realm with Toothless next to me and the gods standing before us. (AN: Having trouble remembering the scene it's described in chapter 141.) I wasn't that big on staying longer than needed since all I wanted was to get out of there, return to my island, pick Blanca up bridal style and carry her to bed before laying down and sleeping for a week with her in my arms. It was then I was brought out of my thoughts when Xiwangmu stepped forward and said.
"Hiccup Haddock, when you first came to this land, I expected great things from you but what you've done today exceeded my expectations." I smiled at the compliment. "I admit when I gave you those dragon eye lenses I knew they would lead to freeing the four dragon kings but I was hoping my husband would be too busy to notice them being freed as I didn't mean for any harm to befall you or your nightfury and I am truly sorry for what happened."
"It's alright, if there's one thing I know it's when it comes to me and my life things rarely ever go according to plan." She giggled.
"Well either way I cannot allow your deeds to go unrewarded and I believe I know the perfect gift to give you first." She stepped forward. "Please come forward Hiccup Haddock." I nodded and stepped forward.
"Tell me Hiccup do you recall what a Fu-Zang long dragon guard most heavily above all else." I nodded.
"It's their pearl and after seeing what magic Táojīn zhě could do with his it was easy to understand?" She smiled.
"I can understand your amazement and had something made for you after you saw the capabilities." She brought her hands out of her sleeves and opened them to reveal a large pearl that was half the size of my fist. "This pearl may not be as powerful as a Fu-Zang long's pearl, but it does have enough power to do what it was built for." I raised an eyebrow wondering what it was for. "Please present your spiderpack to me Hiccup Haddock." I reached back lifting the legs off my shoulder making the others let go before I brought it out and presented my spiderpack to her. "This pearl can't do anything alone but when merged with an item it can give much improvement and new abilities to it." She placed the pearl on the skull's forehead, and I watched as it sunk into the metal while glowing before it stopped sinking in, but I could feel a difference in my spiderpacks power. "The new powers the pearl has given your spiderpack is something you will have to find out for yourself, but I can say that it will make it easier to collect and carry things including of larger things." I smiled as she held her hand over the mouth which opened while the stones that I took from the warriors guarding the dragons floated out. "I also understand you took these as souvenirs from your fights to free the dragons." I nodded.
"Yes, I did." She smiled.
"Well I have a better souvenir for you."
As soon as she said that each of the stone's groups pulled together and growing until they turned into the weapons the statues wielded and I knew those were better trophies then pieces of stone. Xiwangmu just smiled before having them float next to me as she said.
"They'll return to the mortal realm with you but for now have questions about the tattoo left on your back from when you merged with the dragons?" I nodded.
"I know that I no longer have their power, so I wondered why I still have their mark on me."
"The answer to that is simple." She smiled and placed a hand on my shoulder. "Because they now serve you." I felt my eyes widen at this before she continued with. "You freed them from their wrongful imprisonment and when they merged with you, they could see into your very soul, showing them that you were truly worthy of their loyalty." I nodded before I realized, I hadn't seen the four dragons in a while and I'm guessing my confusion was clear since she said. "Right now, they are resting in their pearl form allowing them to travel to your island with you." She raised a hand and a large golden chest floated forward while opening to show the four large pearls that flew into my body on velvet red cushioning. "They'll return to their true forms when their ready." I nodded as the chest closed and floated next to the weapons as I put my spiderpack back on.
"There is one problem and that's where they're going to stay on my island?" She smiled and reached into her sleeve before pulling out a pearl colored item that I recognized as a new piece for my island making my eyes widen. "This island piece shall house the four kings and it holds other secrets, but you'll have to wait till you return to your island." I nodded. "Now let's move onto the other gifts." I nodded before a god I recognized as Chēshén god of vehicles walked up and said.
"Hiccup I know on your journey to gather the dragon species of the land and then free the four dragon kings you traveled all over our land but you rarely got to enjoy it which is a pleasure that should not be passed over." He pulled his hands out of his sleeves to reveal small horse carriage and offered it to me. "This carriage may seem like a toy but like the ship you use to travel the seas, the scorpion you use to travel across the desert and the sleigh you use to travel across snow, there is more to it than meets the eye." I nodded as it floated next to the weapons as Chēshén stepped back allowing the horse god Mǎshén to step forward.
"And what good is a carriage without a horse to pull it." He reached into his sleeve. "In the ancient times when we visited the mortal world, we used to use mystic harnesses on Tianlong dragons, so we'd be able to have them draw our carriages in the form of horses." He pulled out a harness with a glowing white gem in the center of it which he handed to me. "This harness is for your Tianlong dragon and give it the ability to take the form of a horse but still possess the strength it has in its original form." I nodded in thanks while the harness floated up next to the carriage as he walked back as Táoshén the god of pottery stepped forward.
"Hiccup Haddock, that new piece for your island has many things and one such thing is crops for you to harvest and when you harvest them you must prepare them for consumption which is where my gift to you comes in." He pulled out a white teapot with golden tea leave stalks painted on the side. "The crop on your island will be tea leaves and this pot shall prepare the tea after you place the shredded leaves in while also increasing the teas natural effects but what the teas effects are is something you'll have to discover yourself but be assured it does more than just quench thirst." I nodded with a smile at his joke. "It also has the same effect on other plants or juices you place in it like some of the plants you keep in your herb garden." I nodded in thanks as he walked back with Xiwangmu walking forward.
"I believe I have something that belongs to you." She reached into her sleeve before she pulled out the dragon pendant that I used to free the dragons. "It may no longer be able to grow into a map or open holes in mystic walls but I did give it a few abilities that I believe you shall find helpful." I took the pendant in his prosthetic hand and dropped to my kneed clenching my teeth in pain as the pendant sunk into my prosthetic hands palm but the pain disappeared as quick as it came before I stood up and looked at my palm and saw the dragon now circling the edges of the spartan shield. "My husband forged a large army of soldiers like the ones you faced when freeing the dragons but unlike those ones which were rushed and only meant to frighten mortals off or the ones you face in the hall that were meant to stall you, these ones are much stronger." I nodded. "You may summon an army of fifty jade warriors using the power of the pendant by holding it against a surface and saying 'I summon you from your cold stone sleep to do battle and claim victory against my foes as my soldiers of jade' and when summoned they will do as ordered but like mortals they can be destroyed in which they shall need a days' time before they can be summoned again." I nodded. "There is one other upgrade to your hand that the pendant has given you but that is something you shall have to figure out yourself." I smiled at her.
"Well that just makes the gifts more interesting now doesn't it?" She giggled as she opened her arms out.
"And now it's back to the mortal realm with these gifts we give you and hope that next time you come to China you'll be able to enjoy a simple trip in which you don't have to deal with so many mystic beings to fight." I smiled as the fog began to engulf me.
"I hope for the same but until we next meet please don't be like the Jade Emperor and help the mortals when they suffer." She smiled.
"We will!" Then the fog consumed both me and Toothless completely blocking our view and when it cleared we were standing in the main room of my house in the Forbidden City with the gifts I was given laying around on the floor as Toothless crooned in confusion making me chuckle.
"Bud, when it comes to the things like this it's best not to ask questions and just accept it." He just rolled his eyes as I looked around. "Well we better get to work on these gifts but first we should let Chin Wu and Ling Cho know we're back." He growled and nodded before we took off.
AN: Hey all I hope you enjoyed the new chapter and will review kindly since it's the last chapter of this adventure in China so we'll be moving on to a new adventure. I know some of you are annoyed with me for leaving you on another cliffhanger with the gifts like what the pearl does, what's the carriages inside is like, what the new island section is like and what the new prosthetic upgrade is but I needed something to start the next chapter with. Anyway I would like to see some more reviews than usual giving an opinion on this entire trip since it'll give me something to read as my usual stuff hasn't been updated in a while. Anyway, be kind with your reviews, stay safe during these times and have a nice day.
