A/N: A little drabble set somewhere towards the end of last season or during hiatus.
"Did you have a good time?" Kensi asked as Deeks came in, his wetsuit peeled down to his waist and his still damp hair pasted to the sides of his face. She leaned forward to give him a kiss, taking the opportunity to ruffle his hair. His lips tasted like salt and he smelled of the ocean, a familiar comforting scent.
"Yeah, Eric was a beast out there," he told her, smirking proudly. "And I wasn't too bad myself."
"I'm sure." Kensi rolled her eyes as she poured Deeks a mug of fresh coffee. "How's he doing?" Deeks shrugged, leaning against the counter. He took a gulp of coffee and sighed blissfully.
"He still misses Nell, but he's trying to pretend he doesn't."
"I know breaking up was really hard on both of them," Kensi said, feeling for their friends. "It's nice that you're taking the time to do this with him every weekend. He needs people to be there for him."
"Well, surfing all morning and eating fish tacos isn't exactly a hardship," he said, brushing off her compliment.
"So you don't spend half that time talking and hugging it out?" she teased and a smile twitched at the corner of his mouth.
"There might be a few manly tears, but definitely no hugging."
"Babe, I've seen you snuggle with Eric during scary movies."
"That's only because there was only one blanket," he insisted.
"I married such a goof," she sighed. "But you are a good friend." She ran her hands through his hair, down the sides of his neck and settled on the tops of his hips. "And we are lucky to have you." The last sentence was emphasized by a kiss. Deeks grinned against her lips, leaning in as her fingers eased beneath his wetsuit.
"I'm glad you're in such a good mood."
"Why?" Kensi nuzzled his collar bone.
"Because Eric is coming over for brunch in about 20 minutes," he explained. Kensi made an indignant sound.
"But one of the perks of you surfing is that I get to peel you out of your wetsuit and then have shower sex," she complained.
"What happened to us being there for Eric?" He grinned down at her and she rolled her eyes.
"Fine, but he is cramping my style."
"I'm sure he'll appreciate your sacrifice," Deeks said, managing to maintain a straight face.
"But after lunch, all bets are off," Kensi added. "If he stays, he'll just have to live with the consequences."
"You're a saint!" Deeks called after her as she left the kitchen.
