Prompt: Could you write a Drabble where it's Christmas night for the Deeks' with their baby and their moms ?

A/N: As many of my stories do, this turned into kind of a mish-mash.

"You know, Caleb's only one. You didn't have to get him so many things," Deeks said as they watched the 15 month rip wrapping paper into minute pieces and then carry them to the garbage can. He was surrounded by several toys, which had been quickly discarded in favor of the packaging.

"What else are grandmas for?" Julia said, smiling down at Caleb. He had just started talking a few months ago and was alternating between calling out "mama" and "dada" every few minutes.

"You guys are going to go broke if you keep this up."

"Quit being a party pooper, Marty," Roberta said with a roll of her eyes. "Holidays are for celebrating and we love celebrating this little guy."

"We do appreciate all the presents," Kensi told the moms. "Not to mention you two making all the food."

"Yeah, I think I gained 10 pounds tonight," Deeks joked, patting his stomach.

"Oh, you poor thing," Kensi said sarcastically, glancing pointedly at his abs. She lightly smacked his chest, copping an extra feeling while their moms were distracted as they tried to pry a piece of green paper from Caleb's mouth.

"Cooking is never easy with a baby around," Julia said, holding Caleb on her hip. She looked the most content Deeks had ever seen her. "I remember when you were little, Kensi, and I tried to cook for the holidays. I think I burned at least one dish every year."

"Oh I bet she was a breeze compared to this one. When Marty was two, he knocked half the ornaments off the Christmas tree," Roberta told them and Deeks sighed, feeling a slew of embarrassing childhood stories coming.

"How did you manage that?" Kensi asked.

"He was trying to give the tree a hug."

"Oh, please tell me you have pictures!" Kensi begged, looking absolutely delighted.

"Unfortunately, I don't," Roberta said. "But I do have a video of his kindergarten nativity play. He played one of the shepherds." She glanced fondly at Deeks who felt a blush creeping up his cheeks.

"How appropriate." Kensi ruffled his hair, clearly enjoying herself.

"When you were little and Donald was home for Christmas, we would stay up until midnight," Julia said, smiling reminiscently as she held Caleb. "We would tell you to be very quiet because Santa would be coming soon. One of us would find an excuse to leave the room and then we'd make noise outside like we were reindeer. You always got so excited and ran into your room so Santa wouldn't see you and not leave presents."

"Wow," Deeks said, turning to look at Roberta. "And here you told me Santa was make believe when I was four."

"That's only because you caught me filling your stocking," she said, rolling her eyes. "We still had good Christmases though, right?" She sounded a little unsure and he leaned over to squeeze her shoulder.

"Yeah, we did. You always made sure we did something special. Like the year we drove five hours to find some snow."

"Five hours?" Julia repeated, passing Caleb, who had begun babbling more insistently, off to Kensi.

"It was a particularly warm year," Deeks explained.

"Did you ever find any snow?" Kensi asked and he shared a smile with his mom.

"No. But we did get snow cones at this little stand and went to this super weird museum, and I use the term museum loosely, that was supposed to have a dinosaur bone they fished out of some pond," Deeks explained with a chuckle.

"And we got these novelty t-shirts that said, "I saw the bone," Roberta added.

"It sounds like you had a good time," Kensi commented.

"We did. Even though the museum was ludicrously awful, it was enough that we got to spend the time with each other."

"You know what we should do?" Roberta asked and suddenly Deeks had a sinking feeling in his stomach. He recognized that tone in her voice. "We should rent a cabin up at mammoth, the five of us. I know the kids like to go, but I haven't been there in years."

"Mom, I don't–"

"I think that's a wonderful idea," Julia agreed. "It would give us all a chance to spend quality time together. I don't see any of you nearly enough."

"We could spend a whole week there." Kensi and Deeks shared a horrified look. He could only imagining spending a week in the mountain with his mom, mother-in-law and a baby who had recently learned to run.

"Mama, don't you think a weekend would be smarter?" he asked gently. "I mean, we've never spent more than a day together at a time. What if we…"

"What?"

"Get sick of each other," Kensi finished bluntly. Roberta waved her hand, dismissing their concerns.

"Oh, quit being such worry warts. I swear being federal agents has made you two so tense. A week away will be good." She turned away from then, angling her body towards Julia. "Now how does the first week of January work for you?"

"And things were going so well," Deeks sighed.

"Hey, maybe it won't be all bad," Kensi said optimistically. "Maybe it will be a great bonding experience." Deeks frowned at her.

"Are you kidding, it's going to be a disaster."

"Aw, you look like you could use some cheering up." Kensi pointed beneath the tree. "You see that shiny red bag over there?" When Deeks nodded, she leaned in and whispered in his ear, "It has a blue, lace lingerie set in it."

Deeks swallowed harshly as he glanced over at his mom, then back at Kensi.

"You are so mean," he muttered as Kensi grinned at him. She gave him a quick kiss and plopped Caleb in his lap.

"Merry Christmas to me!" she sang as she danced into the kitchen. His mom and Julia were still discussing dates and he let out a long sigh as he cuddled Caleb against his chest. It was going to be a long night.

A/N: I forgot to mention that the "Museum", and bone, I mentioned is based on a real place kind of near where I live.
