A/N: I lied. My obsession with Eric's muscles continues.
"Hey Deeks, you're a lawyer, right?" A woman from HR asked him. Kensi had seen her in the bullpen maybe twice in the last five years. Her name was Katie, maybe Carla. Something with a C.
"I used to be a lawyer, Cassidy," Deeks confirmed, smiling at her pleasantly. Cassidy grinned back, laying a hand on Deeks' arm, higher up on his bicep than was strictly necessary. She gave him a once over, unashamedly lingering on his chest, which was nicely outlined by his t-shirt. Kensi rolled her eyes, but didn't say anything.
"Oh good! I have a little legal problem and I thought maybe you could give me some advice." Cassidy flipped a few perfect red curls over her shoulder, her hand creeping a little lower on Deeks' arm. If it went past her line of sight, Kensi would have to step in.
"Uh sure, I'll do what I can. I have a couple of friends who are still in the business if you–" Cassidy cut him off before he could finish.
"Oh no, I don't think it's at that point yet. Why don't you come up to my office and we can discuss it?" she suggested.
"Ok," he agreed, catching Kensi's eye. "I'll be back in a few."
The minute he was gone, Callen, who had remained silent through the whole Cassidy encounter, asked,
"Is it just me, or is Deeks getting a lot more requests for legal advice and surfing lessons recently?" Kensi tossed her pen on her desk and made a frustrated sound.
"Oh my god! It's getting ridiculous. Ever since he upped his exercise regime, it seems like every women in the vicinity can't leave him alone," she said.
"Well, there could be worse problems," Sam pointed out with a smirk.
"He's always gotten a fair amount of attention, but I swear he's like a magnet now. And don't even get me started on when we go to the beach. The second he takes his shirt off, they start swarming. It's like a bunch of hungry piranha."
"Sounds like someone's a little jealous."
"I'm not jealous," Kensi insisted. She wasn't, for the most part. "Women, men, whoever, can look all they want, but I expect them to stop touching him once they realize he's married." That was probably the part that bothered her the most.
"Maybe he needs to start wearing his ring more," Sam suggested. "That'll show them he's taken."
"He does! We've both been wearing our rings whenever we're not on a case. There was one lady who looked at Deeks' finger, looked back at me and then asked him out on a date." Kensi heard the outrage in her voice, but was too annoyed to tone it down.
"Brazen," Sam said, sharing an amused glance with Callen.
"This isn't funny," Kensi insisted. "My husband is completely ripped and I can't even enjoy it half the time because he's got women crawling all over him. And I can't be mad at him because he never encourages it."
"I guess you'll just have to ask Deeks to get flabby for his own good," Callen said.
"You two are no help at all," Kensi said, pointing between them. "Now I understand why Deeks didn't like you when he started." Callen just chuckled, but Sam mockingly said,
"That hurts."
"What hurts?" Deeks asked as he came in. He didn't look any the worse for wear, so Kensi figured he Cassidy hadn't tried anything.
"Your new workout routine," Callen lied smoothly.
"You want me to set you up with my trainer?"
"I'm good." Kensi noticed that Callen's response was fast and definite.
"So how'd it go with Cassidy?" Sam asked, humor in his voice.
"She has some issues with a neighbor, but I can't say anymore since I'm technically her legal consultant at this point," Deeks said, winking at Kensi as he stretched, putting those damn muscles on display again.
"Are you going to meet with her again?" Kensi asked with forced nonchalance.
"No. I've given her as much advice as I can at this point. Plus, she was kind of handsy."
"I didn't think you noticed or at least that it didn't bother you." Deeks frowned at her comment.
"Of course I noticed. She kept squeezing my arm. I know these babies are pretty great, but it was a little disconcerting," he said, pausing to flex his biceps. Sam rolled his eyes.
"You really didn't like it?" she checked, hoping she didn't sound too jealous.
"You're the only one I want squeezing any part of me," Deeks said, giving her a look that was meant solely for her. Kensi felt a blush creeping up her cheeks.
"Aw, that's true love," Callen said wryly.
"Yeah, Kensi just better not squeeze anything in my presence," Sam added darkly as they gazed at each other.
