"Look at those humans play their little games…" His voice was deep but smooth at the same time. He was watching the tournament, Ishgar's Strongest, from above. His long, yellow hair dropped down to his lower back, between his rainbow translucent wings. "Look at her…prattling on…not dropping dead like she should…" His gaze was fixated on Mii, who was currently lazily wandering around without a care in the world. At least that's what it looked like from his point of view…

"Sir Yggdrasil…" A voice called out from behind him.

"Look at them, Michael." Yggdrasil turned to the angel behind him. Michael was slightly shorter than him with blonde hair and golden wings. "Carrying on about their business as if there isn't a calamity encroaching upon them. Humanity has not changed at all in 400 years…it infuriates me. Chaos is going to strike and they are ill prepared for it!"

"Why does it bother you so? Your emissaries have already claimed that judgement is nigh…" Michael responded, more concerned. "Or is it because of your sword…?"

"My blade in her hands is a foul turn of events. She never should have been wielding it in the first place, blasted mistake of mine!" Yggdrasil cursed about his own daughter, Mii. "I sought to ensure humanity was capable of withstanding calamity, but they've failed time and time again. Failing to live alongside dragons, failing Verona and the Mirror, the Black Wizard….countless times, humanity's hubris has nearly destroyed the world. They openly ignore the threat of the Reaper simply because it is no longer in front of them!"

Michael stood on the side, crossing his arms as Yggdrasil ranted about humanity's folly. "Yet they have avoided countless calamites before…not to mention…"

"Narrowly." Yggdrasil scoffed. "Humanity failed Verona and nearly perished as a result…and now, she roams this world again, presenting the same threat she did back then! Pandora has also failed her job and allowed Prometheus far too much power!"

"What do you propose we do? Do you truly wish to go down and intervene…?" Michael questioned. "After all...as long as Mii is alive, your fate is…"

"She will die before that happens." Yggdrasil turned to Michael, his expression stern. "She cannot bring out that blade's true power. It is my sword and mine alone…her blood is the only thing that allows her to carry it. Once I reclaim my blade from my daughter's cold, dead hands…I will use it to render humanity asunder."

"So the angels will once again descend onto the human realm." Michael said calmly. "Last time…the forces we sent were defeated. Those humans are not as willing to die as you may think."

"I am fully aware of that." Yggdrasil said, turning around once more. "But neither you nor I were there, for we thought those forces were enough. But after watching that group of humans over the last few years, I know full well what we are up against. That's why we will stamp out chaotic nature at the root. Gather Sirius, Cumore, and Zihark. We will put an end to this issue ourselves."

Lucy panted heavily after defeating Elly. It was a harder fight than she anticipated, but she was able to win. The exhaustion set in as she collapsed to her knees next to Elly, using this time to catch her breath. "That…was…not easy…"

"I see why the Celestial Spirit King likes you so much…" Elly said while turning her weak gaze to Lucy. "Your heart is strong willed…I never stood a chance. You are much stronger than I…" She said while handing Loke's key over to Lucy. "As per our agreement…Loke's key is yours once again. Since I used his key as the catalyst for my transformation, I believe it'll take 24 hours before the key is usable again."

Lucy slowly reached out to take Loke's key. She felt a rush as his key was in her possession again after what happened a year ago. There was a soft smile on her face. "You were strong…you lasted even longer than I could in my Star Dress, but I couldn't afford to lose."

Elly was starting to vanish. She was being teleported out of the battlefield since she was defeated. "But…before I depart. There are two things I must tell you."

"What…?" Lucy was confused.

"The reason for your sluggishness…and the tiredness for many others is simple. Aki has used his magic to inflict nightmares upon everyone to hinder them. If you sleep…you will see him…and you will lose." Elly was giving out such information to Lucy, it caught her off guard. "And furthermore…you should not have relaxed…you are being hunted…" With that ominous message, Elly was gone.

"W-What…hunted…?" Lucy stood up slowly, wincing from her injuries. Elly sure exhausted her…she needed some time to rest. But if sleeping was dangerous, what was she supposed to do? Lucy took a step forward and she was pelted in the face by a large bouncing ball. It caught her off guard and she yelped as she collapsed to the ground. "Oof!" She quickly tried to scramble to her feet to find some way to escape, but her path was blocked off by numerous vines. "Ah…!?"

"Target locked!" Lucy's pursuer was Marx. "Waiting for a person to relax after a big fight like that makes them easy prey, hehe!" The jester giggled and lunged at Lucy, who only really had the strength to avoid his attack.

"You were watching this whole time…?!" Lucy couldn't afford to try and fight Marx. She was feeling too sluggish after her fight with Elly; meanwhile this was probably Marx's first fight of the final event. The circumstances were far from her favor and they both knew that. "Gotta get outta here…"

"I don't think so!" Marx snapped his fingers, causing a rain of bouncing balls to appear all over Lucy. She was getting consistently bumped around with no means to defend herself.

To make matters worse, she could barely see that the barrier off in the distance was slowly beginning to close some more. Time was passing faster than she thought. "Gaaaaaaah!" She wasn't even taking damage, but her injured body was being thrown around so much it felt like agony. Lucy eventually hit the ground, the wind knocked out of her. "Ugh…" She placed her palms against the flat ground, arms trembling as she attempted to push herself up, only to fail.

"What do you think you're doing!?" Emeraude shouted. There was no way Lucy could get thrown around like this after beating a Pergrande Commandant. "Get up!"

"Haha! This is an acceptable outcome as well!" Ashnard laughed.

"Haha!" Marx laughed while floating over Lucy, shifting into his demonic entity form. "Easy prey!" His cheeks inflated and he then fired off a gigantic beam of raw magic towards Lucy, who had no defense in her condition.

"No…!" Lucy closed her eyes. After all this, were her efforts going to go to waste just like that!? She had nothing to offer at the moment so braced for impact, only to feel the explosion just behind her. "Huh?" She opened her eyes and saw it all in slow motion. At the last second, just before the beam struck, Luke flew in and kicked Marx in the cheek, sending him flying into the ground.

"That was close." Luke said while wiping the sweat from his brow. "You good?"

"Whew…" Lucy felt a bit more relaxed now that she saw a friendly face. "You were almost too late!" She chided.

"What? I made it on time!" Luke said while rubbing the back of his neck. "You really should think twice before letting out a beacon that shows everyone where you are."

"I didn't have a choice!" Lucy huffed, slowly making her way to her feet.

"Yeesh, you look awful. Let's get you somewhere safe." Luke said. But he was suddenly under fire by Marx, who was not happy that his hunt was interrupted. "Whoa!" Luke was leaping backwards, avoiding the numerous vines that sprouted from the ground in an effort to wrap around him. "Someone's cranky this morning!"

"HOW DARE YOU!" Marx screamed, firing off blast after blast at Luke. Luke was drawing Marx away from Lucy so she could find a place to hide and recover, and he figured he could deal with this kid in the meantime. "I'LL DESTROY YOU!"

"In your dreams, kid!" Luke scoffed and threw his hand forward, sending a black sphere in Marx's direction. "Black God's Bomb!" Marx flew to avoid the bomb, but it still exploded on Luke's command, catching Marx and sent him tumbling in the air.

"Gaaah!" Marx managed to catch himself. Luke was closing in, so he opened his mouth, letting out a high pitched wail that forced Luke back to the ground, making him cover his ears due to the sound. Marx picked this up from Shade up often employed similar techniques to immobilize foes.

"Shit…!" Luke grit his teeth. That was really annoying! Shaking his head, he used Meteor to fly off to the side, and then circled around to strike Marx. But before he could, he was yanked out of the air and thrown harshly into the ground. "ACK!"

"Luke…!?" Lucy's eyes widened.

Standing between Marx and Luke was Blair, arms crossed as she stared down Luke. "Move." Blair demanded before kicking Luke aside, turning to face Marx. "I want you."

"Huh!?" Marx stared at Blair. "What do you think you're doing!? Pergrande and Joya are working together! The goal is…!"

"I don't give a shit about what your goals are. My only job is to help Pergrande win, and they never said what I couldn't do." Before Marx could even react to Blair's words, her demonic arm appeared and she used this to grab Marx and slam him into the ground, feeding off of him. She was aware she couldn't kill him, but she drained enough of his magic and life to sustain her hunger. She then reared her arm back and tossed Marx all the way into the barrier, forcing him into a ring out.

"And with that, Marx has been tossed out of the ring by Blair! Pergrande continues their lead with a small margin by 5 more points!" Chapati reported, Pergrande's score moving from 135 to 140.

"She took care of that fast…" Luke said with a sweat drop. He didn't even have the chance to react.

Blair's arm was still in its demonic form. She glanced between Luke and Lucy, noticing the easiest prey. So she began a mad sprint towards Lucy. "You."

"…!" Lucy's eyes widened as Blair barreled towards her like an apex predator coming for the kill. There was no way she was going to outrun this. Blair made the lunge, only to be interrupted by numerous beams of light that struck her body, forcing her off to the side.

"We gotta go!" Luke used Meteor to rush to Lucy and pick her up, speeding off into the distance. Now way could he handle keeping Lucy safe and fighting Blair at the same time at once. That was a recipe for the both of them to lose.

Blair stood up and dusted herself off from Luke's attack, ultimately scoffing. They were too far gone to chase. "Whatever."

Keele was sitting next to Aki, who had his eyes closed. "Elly failed, huh…?" Keele spat in annoyance. "So much for trying to help us. I should've known not to trust a girl to handle something like that…" Sexist attitude showing once more, he turned to his brother who wasn't listening. Not because he was ignoring him, but because he was just asleep, as Elly told Lucy. "Oh, right. Forgot how you are when you do that." Sighing, he stood up and stretched his back. "I knew it would fall to us anyway…the only one who can save our sister is us. Damn Pergrande bastards…" The hybrid sucked his teeth. He was only in this position because Pergrande held his sister's wellbeing against them. "You have your way of doing this…and I have my own." With that, Keele started to walk off, leaving the sleeping Aki on his own. But they were brothers, so he wasn't worried.

Blue Pegasus stood no chance again Brax. The Commandant of Pergrande and his flames were just too much for them. Ichiya, Ren, Hibiki, Jenny, and Eve were all collapsed within the Christina, struggling to pick themselves up after the brutal beat down that was delivered to them. Brax just stood in front of them with the lacrima device in his hand. "Now, don't get me wrong, but this isn't personal or anything. I'm just following orders."

"He's…so strong…" Eve grunted, unable to stand back up.

"We'll fail our mission at this rate…" Hibiki said, only managing to get onto all fours.

"Men…we cannot fall here…" Ichiya was the one who managed to get back on his feet, sticking two vials into his nose and took a deep whiff. "The pride of Blue Pegasus is on the line, and I shall not succumb to the ugliness of this cold world!"

Brax lazily swung one of his chakrams along two fingers, just staring at Ichiya. "Did I beat you that badly? What are you goin' on about?"

"MEEEEEEEN!" Ichiya struck a pose as his body transformed, hulking out to his most handsome and powerful state, his clothes ripping in the process. "Parfum of Maximum Manliness!" With this buff in strength, he flexed a few times before making a dead sprint towards Brax, rearing his arm back.

"Whoa, you had this kinda power? Kinda freaky." Brax said while preparing himself. He blocked Ichiya's punch, sliding back several feet before flinging his chakram at the man. It ignited in flames and circled around him, exploding on Ichiya and sent him flying back in his usual, short form. "But it's not good enough! Now it's time to put a lid on this!" His chakram flew back into his hands and he took a pose, arms crossed as his weapons ignited in fire and the flung them at the Blue Pegasus mages to finish them off. Just before the weapons could reach, a wall of ice appeared in front of them causing them to bounce back. Naturally, he turned around to see what stopped him. "Huh!?"

Two streaks flew past him; black and blue. They bounced around for a few seconds before coming right at him. "Sky Arrow!"

"Fire Arrow!"

Wendy and Cynthia aimed two kicks at Brax together to knock him back. He was able to block their kids, but the combined efforts of the two girls did succeed in making him stagger a bit. "Gah!"

And just as the two girls jumped back, Juvia was standing with her palms extended. "Water Nebula!" A gigantic, spiral blast of water erupted from her palms, filling the space within the ship to catch and drown Brax. But he fired back by spinning his chakrams around, a wheel of flame appearing in front of him that met with the water. The result was pure steam, which filled the ship but soon cleared after.

"So, you must be Fairy Tail?" Brax said while assuming his leisurely stance once more. Gray, Happy, Juvia, Wendy, Cynthia, Carla, and Lector stood in front of him. "To what do I owe this pleasure? And how did you even figure out this was happening?"

"I heard it." Cynthia pointed to her ears. The hearing of a dragon slayer was not to be underestimated.

"All of you…you made it in time…" Ren breathed a sigh of relief.

"This guy totally ruined my hair!" Jenny whined.

"What's your deal!?" Lector pointed at Brax.

"I'm on official Pergrande business." Brax responded with a causal shrug. "I was asked to retrieve an item that my dear comrade gave away. So I'm doing just that. Nothing wrong with picking up a lost item, is there?"

"Don't give me that crap." Gray scoffed, keeping his hands in the maker position. He remembered Brax from the Isle; it had been a while but he would never forget the way Brax killed Zen in front of all of them. There was no way they were getting out of this without a fight. "Mii trusted that mission to Blue Pegasus. So I'm not letting you get in the way."

"Oh? Trusted it to them?" Brax sighed. "I see we need a little lesson here." The red haired commandant paced around casually, while everyone else remained on guard. "I'm sure you're already aware as to why the dear Queen of Fiore and Emeraude's mother were wrapped up in the Wizard Hunter's scheme. Pergrande wanted a reason to take them both countries out, there's no denying that you've pieced as much together. So what role does Mii play in all this?"

"Just get to the point!" Carla shouted. She didn't have time for all this guesswork.

"Fine, fine…man, you are one impatient cat." Brax sighed as the fun was sucked away from his explanation. "Mii returned to the Pergrande Kingdom two years ago after Emeraude was defeated. In that time, she was to keep a close eye on Alvarez but do nothing more…yet when the time for war occurred between Alvarez and Fiore; she breached her duties and intervened, thus involving Pergrande in that war as well."

"…Master's death…" Wendy whispered. Erza told her all about it.

"It causes a pretty big problem when one of Pergrande's highest ranking officers gets involved in a battle that doesn't concern them." Brax said. "So naturally the solution was to either snuff out the problem at the source, or deliver a fitting punishment."

"Problem…at the source?" Juvia blinked. "What are you talking about!"

That's when Brax pointed at them. "You, Fairy Tail, are the problem. King Ashnard can easily spin it that Fairy Tail dragged Pergrande into a war they had no business being a part of. With that justification, he's every right to use Heracles blow Fairy Tail right off the map because of it!"

"WHAT!?"

"That's insane!" Lector shook his head.

"You can't do that!" Cynthia exclaimed.

"Well, we can. But we aren't." Brax said. "Because that was only one option. The other was Mii grabbing the Eternal Sword from the Isle and following all of Ashnard's commands to perfection. If not, the lacrima in her eye will give her a nasty shock."

"W-What…?" Wendy placed her hands over her mouth. "Mii-san is enduring all that suffering…just to protect us?"

"I don't get it either." Brax said. "But that's the only reason Fairy Tail hasn't been singled out like this. She's been a little disobedient lately, but the fix for that is her having to take out the three Fairy Tail wizard in the final event. If she does that, nothing happens to your guild. So, don't you get it now?" A malicious smile crept onto his lips. "Mii doesn't believe in you at all! She's just trying to make sure she gets an easy way out! That's all she's ever done, don't you realize that? She knows more than anyone that Fairy Tail and Fiore can't handle what the real world has to offer!"

Gray clenched his hand into a fist. So this was the weight that Mii was bearing on her shoulders all this time. Even as she screamed and blamed them for her troubles, she was still shouldering the burden of protecting them. "Guys, get them out of here."

"What!? But Gray, we can take him together!" Happy exclaimed.

"Blue Pegasus needs to get medical treatment." Gray said while walking forward, standing a few feet in front of Brax. "Plus…this is something I have to do on my own."

"You have no reason for that!" Carla yelled. Gray was being a prideful moron but this wasn't the time.

"BUT I DO!" Gray yelled back. "Everyone's giving it their all out there for Hisui, Mii, and everyone back home. Ever since this started, all I've been able to do is get tossed around like some unimportant weakling. I'm tired of losing when everyone's counting on me. If Natsu is out there giving it his all, then I have to do the same! I know more than anyone how hurt Mii is. Doing your best to try and protect someone, only to fail. That leaves a deep wound in your heart no matter how strong you want to become. Mii is our friend…she's family at the end of the day. So I'm gonna do what I can to help her in my own way. If that means taking down the smug bastard who wants to ruin what she's trying to do, then so be it!"

"Gray-sama…" Juvia had hearts in her eyes. Gray was so cool to her when he spoke like this. Even if this was absolutely him being reckless, she couldn't not honor his wishes. "Let us leave this to him! Juvia believes Gray-sama will be fine."

"Such a determined parfum…" Ichiya remarked. He could not help but respect it.

"He's insane…but I cannot help but respect his will." Ren said with a faint chuckle. Brax allowed the others to help Blue Pegasus off of the ship. He still had the device in question so their escape ultimately didn't matter in the end.

"So it's just you and me, ice boy?" Brax asked while swinging his chakrams along his fingers lazily. "Do you really think you stand a chance against me? I burned Zen to a crisp; I could've done that even without him getting beaten to a pulp. If the ice of a God can't withstand my flames, what makes you think you're so special?"

Gray gripped his shirt and threw it off, already getting serious right off the bat. The markings of a devil appeared along his arm. "The power of the devil's." Gray said calmly, his eyes narrowing towards Brax. "This power entrusted to me by my master and my father…" The images of Ur and Silver appeared beside him. "I swore I would use this power to protect my family. Mii is family and she entrusted us with one last task. I won't let her down again."

Brax just smiled, his chakrams now spinning in his hand as the entire ship Christina was enveloped in a ring of flames. No one got in and no one got out. "I like your spirit! Fiery for an ice wizard. This'll be a good way to pass the time! BURN BABY!"

Mii casually walked through an open grassy field, mostly keeping to herself. That's when she encountered Verona, who leisurely sat in the grass without a care in the world. "Oh boy…" Mii was not willing to fight this one; it put forth far too much effort.

"Oh." Verona causally turned to Mii, looking her over a few times. "It's you, Yggdrasil's kid."

"Huh? You know my dad?" Mii blinked, but still kept herself at the ready in case this wild card wanted to lunge.

"Mhm. I've met him once before, a long time ago…" Verona then snickered. "And as much as he tried to avoid his fate…you existing at all means that it truly is impossible for an angel to escape what fate has for them. But you? You're different, Mii. Because you're…."
