A/N: Another short story as sort of follow up to yesterday's story. Takes place several years in the future. I will post something longer when I have my life under a slight amount of control.
"Ok, so Sophie just nursed before you came and had a diaper change, Jake and Penelope had dinner, and Caleb can take care of himself when he's dropped off from soccer practice," Kensi rattled off as she hooked a blue earring through her ear while holding a single high heel in the other hand.
"And, uh, you might want to take it easy with Jake and snacks before bed. He's had some tummy issues lately," Deeks added on his way from the kitchen to the bedroom. He popped his head back in a second later and added, "Oh, and don't let the twins try to convince you they get five bedtime stories."
"I got it," Sam said, absentmindedly swinging Penelope on his arm. "Not too many snacks and one bedtime story."
"There are five bottles of milk in the fridge," Kensi continued, now wearing both shoes and earrings. "But you shouldn't need more than two." She bent to pick five month old Sophie up from her play mat, kissing one of her chubby cheeks. Sophie squealed happily and attacked Kensi's face with a slobbery mouth.
Sam shook his head as he tossed Jake, who had taken his own turn swinging on his arm, onto the couch and then Penelope, who wasn't about to be left out.
"I still can't believe you guys convinced me to babysit all four of your kids." He sighed. "I swore to myself I wouldn't ever change a dirty diaper again, yet here I am holding a five month old.
"But you're doing it anyway because you love your nieces and nephews, right?" Kensi said and Sam snorted.
"More like you finally wore me down after months of nagging me," he corrected, not quite able to hide his smirk as Sophie smiled at him and stuck out her chubby arms. He took her, balancing her in one arm.
"Best Pseudo Uncle ever!" Deeks shouted as he jogged back down the stairs. He kissed each of the kids on the head, pulling a goofy face for Sophie.
"Be good for Uncle Sam," Kensi told them as they headed for the front door. "And thanks again for doing this."
"And if Uncle Sam gets too mean, call Uncle Callen and Aunt Anna," Deeks added with a wink before he closed the door behind him.
"Unbelievable," Sam muttered, looking down at Sophie and bouncing her a couple times. "Do you know your mom and dad are ridiculous?" She made an unintelligible noise which Sam accepted as agreement.
