February 4

This morning I sat on the couch nursing Moroha. It's been about a month and a half since she was born and I love her more every day.

As I was feeding her, Inuyasha came over and put a pillow behind my back. "Comfortable?" he asked, sitting down next to us.

I nodded. "Thanks."

He smiled at his daughter and ran his hand down her back. "Hey, Moroha."

Moroha looked at him out of the corners of her eyes but then turned back to my breast.

I laughed. "She's just like her daddy; she doesn't like it when people interrupt her when she's eating."

He elbowed me. "It's only when people interrupt me when I'm eating ramen."

That made me laugh. Soon after Moroha finished eating. When she was done, she looked at Inuyasha with her big gold eyes. He kissed her nose, making her smile.

"We should go for a walk," Inuyasha said.

I eyed him for a moment. "Are you feeling well enough to walk?"

He hesitated for a moment. "Maybe a short walk."

I was still concerned for him. But at least he was a half-demon so he was probably much more healed than I thought he was. "Alright, we'll go on a short walk."

So that's what we did but when we came back, even that seemed to be too much for him. When we got back he collapsed on the couch.

"Honey, are you okay?" I said as I sat next to him.

"I'm fine...just a little tired."

I sighed. "I should have known this was too much too soon." I handed Moroha to him. "You take her. I'll brew up some medicinal herbs to help with your pain."

In response, he kissed me lovingly. "You're the best, Kagome."

Just as I was brewing him up some herbal tea, there was a knock on the door. I went to get it and to my surprise, Koga, Ginta, and Hakakku were there.

"Hey, guys!" I said happily as I gave them all hugs.

"Good go see you, Kagome," Ginta said.

"Come in," I said as I closed the door behind them.

"What the hell happened to you?" Koga said to Inuyasha.

"I destroyed a crazy-ass demon that would have killed you in five seconds," Inuyasha said with a smirk. "Bet you haven't been doing anything that fun lately."

"I don't know if I'd consider looking like you've been through a shredder fun," Koga replied. "But you've kept Kagome and Moroha alive this long so I guess that's admirable."

Inuyasha put up his middle finger at him. "Fuck you."

I came over with his tea and sat next to him. "Can we not with the language around the baby?"

"It's not like she understands yet," Koga pointed out.

"You know what would be really funny?" Hakakku said. "What if she actually does know and her first words end up being something like 'fuck you' or 'bastard' or something."

The guys seemed to find this amusing but it made me facepalm. "I really hope not."

"So we came over because Koga needs advice," Ginta said.

Inuyasha sipped his tea. "Advice about what?"

"As you know Ayame is getting pretty far along in her pregnancy," Koga said. "She's due in only a couple of months."

"And you want advice on how to handle it?" I guessed.

Koga crossed his arms stubbornly. "I mean, not that I wouldn't be able to figure it out on my own…"

Inuyasha just laughed. "Save it, wolf. Just admit you need help."

"Okay, so my panic has been growing exponentially every day. I feel like I'm losing my mind. I can't handle this!"

Inuyasha and I gave each other a knowing look. "Doesn't that sound familiar?" I said.

"It's just going to get worse from here, my friend," Inuyasha said to Koga.

At that Koga looked on the verge of panic. "Are you serious?!"

"It's all downhill from here," Inuyasha said. "I'll put it this way, while Kagome was giving birth Miroku had to tie me up to restrain me."

"Are...are you serious?"

Ginta and Hakakku looked thoughtful.

"Not a bad idea…" Ginta said.

"You'd better not!" Koga said to them with his fist raised.

"Just make sure to be there for Ayame emotionally," I said. "The third trimester is really hard, especially when it gets closer to her due date."

"Don't get mad at her," Inuyasha said.

Koga looked at him incredulously. "You did that? Inuyasha, you asshole! How could you treat Kagome that way?!"

"I'm not proud of it!" Inuyasha retorted. "That's why I'm telling you now so you don't make the same mistakes."

"What about when the baby is born?" Koga asked. "What should I expect?"

"You will never sleep again," Inuyasha said.

"Never?"

"Never!" Inuyasha and I said.

Ginta and Hakakku laughed.

"If only you knew how much Koga likes to sleep in," Hakakku said.

"Sometimes we don't hear from him until the middle of the afternoon," Ginta added.

Inuyasha and I laughed.

"Yeah, that's not going to happen anymore," I said.

Koga looked horrified.

It was kind of cool to be giving Koga new parent advice like this. It made it feel like Inuyasha and I were old pros passing down our wisdom even though Moroha isn't even two months old.

"Not to mention all the crying and trying to figure out why the hell she's crying," Inuyasha said.

"And sometimes she's crying for no reason at all," I said.

"And then there's your wife's mood swings."

I narrowed my eyes at him. "One thing you have to understand, Koga, is that Ayame will have gone through nine months of dramatic changes to her body and in the months following she's still trying to get back to normal so you have to be patient with her."

Inuyasha nodded in agreement. "Give her lots of hugs and compliments. Also, you're not going to have sex for a while."

I blushed at that one. "Yasha!"

"What? He wanted to know. That's how it is. But when you do start to have sex again, half the time you'll be interrupted because the baby needs something."

Koga seemed to be very nervous now. "I see. So there are going to be a lot of changes in our life…"

I put a comforting hand on his shoulder. "There will be, but it'll be good changes. Having a baby is a wonderful experience. And I think it's made our relationship stronger."

"I agree," Inuyasha replied. He looked down at Moroha who was looking back and forth between all of us and sucking her thumb. "When you become a father it changes your whole perspective on the world."

"Well, I'm ready for it," Koga said. "I'm nervous as hell, but I'm ready for it."

"Once Ayame has the baby it's all going to fall into place for you," I said encouragingly.

"Just remember that when the baby comes you have to bring them over for playdates," Inuyasha said.

Koga smirked. "Oh sure. I'm telling you, we might as well open a daycare center. It'll be a lucrative business."
