February 7
Despite having a baby now, Inuyasha and I still seem to be as worked up as we always were.
Somehow we'd been getting on each other's nerves all morning. I went out for an hour to bring herbs to some of the villagers but when I came back I was still mad at him and he seemed to be mad at me as well.
Moroha was sitting in her baby swing and Inuyasha was sitting on the couch with his arms crossed. Meanwhile, I was dusting some things and we kept glaring at each other every now and then.
Finally, it seemed like Inuyasha couldn't take it anymore. "If you've got something to say to me, say it!"
"Fine, I will!" I said as I slammed down my feather duster. "You are the most infuriating, insufferable jerk I've ever known!"
"And you're an annoying bitch!" he said standing up.
I stomped over to him. "I swear if you still had that necklace on I'd sit you until you were ten feet into the ground!"
"And this is why I can't fucking stand you!"
"You…!"
Both of us stopped in our tracks when Moroha started crying. The fight didn't matter anymore. All that was on our minds was making sure our little girl was okay.
I picked her up and started to rock her. Inuyasha kissed her. "Shh, don't cry, sweetie," he said gently.
The more I thought about it, I realized Moroha had been perfectly fine up until we had started arguing. "Inuyasha, do you think we're the reason why she got upset?"
He thought about that for a moment. "Oh no. Kagome we're horrible parents!"
"How about this, let's agree to ever fight in front of her again."
He kissed me. "Agreed. Also, I'm sorry I yelled at you."
"Me too. I don't even remember why we were mad at each other in the first place." I kissed him again but it was interrupted when Moroha started giggling. I hugged her. "I'm glad you're happy now, little one."
We didn't fight again for the rest of the day but I guess by tonight both of us were still a little high-strung but in a different way.
I sat on the couch this evening breastfeeding Moroha. Inuyasha sat next to us with his arm around me. It was a cozy evening with the fire blazing in front of us. It's always so nice when we're together like this in the comfort of our house.
Moroha finished eating and I put her on my shoulder to burp her. Afterward, I rocked her in my arms, and very soon her eyes slowly started to close.
Inuyasha ran his fingers through her soft baby hair. "Looks like someone is getting sleepy."
I kissed Moroha's forehead. "Sweet dreams, my beautiful little girl."
"Want me to take her to bed?"
I nodded and handed her to him. "I'm going to take a bath."
Inuyasha put Moroha to bed. I soon finished my bath and sat on the couch sewing while Inuyasha went to take his own bath.
Then I saw a spider crawling across the room.
"AHH!" I screamed.
Inuyasha must have been so worried that he jumped out of the bathtub without bothering to grab a towel. "What's the matter?!"
I had my feet on the couch and I pointed to the floor. "There's a spider!"
Inuyasha rolled his eyes. "You made me get out the hot water for this?"
"Get rid of it!"
He sighed. "Fine." He picked up my shoe and prepared to kill it.
"No!"
"What?"
"Don't use my shoe."
He dropped my shoe and crossed his arms. "What else do you want me to use?"
"I don't know but don't kill it. Take it outside."
"I'm not wearing anything, you take it outside!"
I shook her head. "I'm not touching a spider."
Inuyasha let out an exasperated sigh. "Then what the hell do you want me to do about it, Kagome?!"
"I don't care what you do. Just do something!"
Finally, he just stepped on the spider with his barefoot.
I winced and looked away. "Inuyasha, that's disgusting."
He held up his foot and I shielded my eyes from it. "Wipe it off," he said.
"Gross, no! Get your spider foot out of my face!"
So he went back into the bathroom grumbling to himself. Then he came back with a towel wrapped around his waist. I watched as he opened the front door and wiped his foot off in the grass. When he came back in he closed the door and glared at me. "Is that it? Do you want me to go outside in the cold naked for anything else?!"
I shook my head. "No, I'm good."
Inuyasha went back towards the bathroom. "Thanks a lot, now I have to wash my foot," he mumbled.
Ten minutes later he finished his bath and got dressed then sat down next to me. Any traces of being mad at me about the spider were gone. He put his arms around me and kissed the side of my face. "What am I going to do with you?"
"I can think of a few things you can do with me," I said with a wink.
After that little teasing statement, I went to go write. But Inuyasha seems to have been growing more impatient by the minute so I think I'll wrap it up for now and go take care of him. After the day we've had, I think we need it.
