"It's your theory," Inuyasha grumbled. "Why do you look so surprised?"
Sesshoumaru's lips compressed.
"Miroku explained, remember? Courage. Friendship. Wisdom. Love."
"They do not suit me."
Inuyasha cracked a smile. "The others, then. You sort them out?"
"Kohaku," Sesshoumaru admitted. "He knows things he should not. He is wisdom."
"Betcha Kagome's friendship. She's friendly with anyone, like it or not."
Sesshoumaru started to nod but hesitated.
Maybe because he'd realized.
"Can't deny you're brave." Inuyasha left it at that.
People did stuff for crazy reasons: vengeance, justice, vainglory, duty. But Inuyasha thought something else nearly ended his brother's life.
Heartbreak.
