Chapter 237

.

Sela kept her word. It seemed that the Mary Jane clone was nearby. In life, Mary Jane's ex-boyfriend Morris Bench was obsessed with her. After joining the navy, Morris got exposed to dangerous chemicals, and became the villain Hydro-Man. He used his new powers to try and force Mary Jane to love him. Eventually Morris was defeated by Spiderman, and believed to have been killed. After that, a mad scientist tried to clone Morris, it worked. But the clone was also obsessed with Mary Jane, and forced the scientist to clone her as well. This clone, who had the same powers as Hydro-Man, escaped and reunited with her beloved Peter. Both clones were unstable, and soon evaporated. Now, both the original Hydro-Man and his clone were working together to force this Mary Jane clone to love them. The heroes found Mary Jane, hiding in a cave. She was relieved to see Peter, but it wasn't long before both Hydro-Men found them.

.

Hydro-Man: You always did try to stop us from loving her, didn't you Peter?

Spiderman: So you know?

Hydro-Man 2: It's amazing how many of your old enemies figured out who you really are.

Hydro-Man: And we're going to enjoy making sure you can never leave this Hell.

Spiderman: Yeah, being with you two definitely sounds like my version of Hell. But I have some powerful friends here, so it's at least an even battle. Just answer me one question, just out of curiousity. Which of you gets Mary Jane, or are you planning to share?

Hydro-Man 2: We always figured we'd decide that once we got her.

Hydro-Man: I get her. No clone is worthy of Mary Jane.

Hydro-Man 2: Newsflash, she's a clone too. If anything I have more right to her than you do.

Hydro-Man: That so. Come here and say that to my face.

Hydro-Man 2: With pleasure.

.

Peter Parker's plan worked, he figured each of these two would assume he should have Mary Jane all to himself, it didn't take much to get them to fight each other. While they fought amongst themselves he heroes quietly slipped away. Spiderman couldn't resist one last wise crack to the two Hydro-men, "Blessed are the peacemakers."
