Straight Edge Sister
Book One
Pharya rolls her luggage out of the airport. Her hat tucked down low with her hood on. Normally she wouldn't care about being seen by fans but today she was too tired and just wanted to get home and lay down.
Colby leans up from the truck when he spotted her walking out. "What did they take your bags off last?"
Pharya smirks. "Ha, ha. Your funny."
Walking right into his arms, Pharya held him tight as she laid her head against his chest.
"I missed you."
"I'm a very loveable human being." He nods, a pinch to his side made him laugh. "I missed you too." Kissing the top of her head, he leans back to look down at her. "How was your flight, you alright?"
"Other than my stomach feeling a stab wound?" Pharya looks up at him with tired eyes.
"Yes."
"I'm fantastic." Pharya nods.
With a calming chuckle, he kisses the side of her head. "Come on grumpy, lets get you home."
"I'm not grumpy." Pharya pouts.
Colby takes her bags. "Yes, you are. But it's adorable so I tolerate it."
"Whatever." She giggles getting inside. Her smile falls when she realizes that neither of their pets where in the truck. "Why didn't you bring my children with you?"
Putting her stuff in the back, he comes around to help her get in. "Because one of them thought it was nice to use the bathroom in the house. I can't reward one with a trip out, and not the other. So I punished them both."
"You are horrible!" Pharya laughs.
"I got this parenting thing on lock, trust me." Colby closes her door.
Pharya shakes her head, getting comfortable with a deep breath-she leans back into the seat. As Colby got inside, he started the truck up and pulled away from the airport, onto the road.
"How was visiting Shayna?" His hand relaxes on her leg, massaging it gently.
"It was great." Pharya sits up. "I think Rebecca and Candice truly see where my hard ass ring demeanor comes from. Shayna is where."
"She is very intimidating." Colby agrees. "And I heard the good news to, congratulations. Mixed tag huh?"
"Yes!" Pharya grins. "Paul told me about it, and I know I hugged him like twice. Almost didn't let him go."
"It was good idea, I told you that. All you had to do is show them how much people really do enjoy those kind of matches now. You girls aren't like the women from back then. No disrespect to the legends but you guys deserve to get mixed matches."
"I feel like that match between me and you really did it." Pharya motions between them. "So I thank you, for letting me beat you up."
His brow raised. "You mean I beat you up?"
"Mmm, nah." Pharya waves off. "I think you were probably hit to hard and have amnesia."
"I can put you in a headlock and keep this car straight on the road. You do know that?" Pharya holds his hand with an innocent smile. "Exactly." He notice her smile drops as she winced a little. His hand gives her a leg a slight squeeze. "You okay?"
"Yeah." Pharya adjusts herself. "I guess the only good part is I know when it all comes. I called it right on time, early this morning." She fakes a smile. "Right along with stupid back pains that recently started to become a thing." Pharya smile drops with an eye roll. "Mother nature can honestly suck it."
"You got your appointment tomorrow morning." He rubs her leg.
Pharya eyes flicker over to him. She battled with herself about the Drew and Ross dilemma during her whole flight home. Of course Candice and Rebecca tried their hand in talking about Ross again but Pharya shut it down the minute they tried. The Drew situation wasn't that bad but she knew for sure the Ross part would cause more bad then good between her and Colby at the moment. Never did she want to hide anything but this wasn't like things with Drew. This was simply someone from her past that she wanted to leave where he belonged. There wasn't any need to bring him up anymore and it felt better when she never had to talk about him, or remember the pain that came along with it.
Ross couldn't be someone that just pops up again. Never did she want to take so many steps back after all she had walked to get forward to this very point. Here she was, happy, and engaged, she wouldn't give him that power to take the happiness from her...not again.
"...Colby," Pharya chews on her lip.
"What's up sweetheart?" He takes a brief glance from the road, his brows pull together from her gaze. "Why are you looking like that, what's wrong?"
"I saw Drew at the performance center while I was out." Pharya admits. Colby face had yet to change as he waits for her to continue. "We were talking and I asked him about his lie. He told me why and then he asked me about why it wasn't him."
"What did you tell him?"
Pharya steals her eyes up to him. "I told him the truth..."
"That's it?"
"Your not mad?"
"No."
Pharya head withdraws, she raises a brow. "Are you okay?" He nods. "You sure?"
Colby chuckles. "I am not mad, Pharya. I already knew he would ask you that whenever you two would get alone . Naturally I figured you would run into him since people have been talking about him coming back next year."
"You don't want to know what I told him?"
"You don't have to report to me, Pharya." Colby tells her. "I know you, and I got a good feeling of what you said. I trust you."
Pharya hugs him arm making Colby smile. He pulled up to the stoplight.
"I don't look to make the same mistake twice."
His eyes fall down to her. The best thing that ever happened to him since his wrestling career. Years wasn't needed for him to know she was that person he had been looking for. A part of him had seen why Drew would try so hard, and want her back. The times he thought he had lost her he was a wreck, the last thing he wanted to do is put her through anything else with his attitude.
Pharya peeks up to a slight laugh from him, she hides her face in his arm again.
"If you say you handled it, then I will take your word for it, sweetheart."
"I'm already emotional, your not helping." She muffled into his arm.
He laughs. "Is that all you wanted to tell me?"
Pharya kept herself from spilling it and nods her head. "Yeah. That was it..."
Later...
Finally getting home was the highlight of her morning. It felt good to finally be back and to be able to rest her body. WrestleMania was fast approaching and the time for breaks were out of the question, especially for her.
Pharya laid on the couch in her blanket and pillows. A howling sounding from outside made her laugh, as she could hear Styles from her resting area in the living room.
"Get in here and stop being dramatic." She heard Colby's voice from the kitchen. "You were out there for a minute."
Walking inside, her puppy was starting to look like a full grown adult. He waited a second, Pharya brows raise at him and he tilts his head. With a gruff he runs and jumps on Pharya to her sounding laughter.
"Hey, hey," Colby walks in. "No jumping on the injured."
"Aww, he can't help it." Pharya points. "Look at him."
Colby looks to Styles who laid himself on her legs, flashing up the puppy eyes.
"I know she taught you that." Styles lifts his head to howl back an answer. "See, that's the sass I put up with. Your dog is you."
"He is not." Pharya giggles. Styles moves from her legs to squeeze into her side, laying halfway on her.
"Mama's boy." Colby scoffs, he looks to Kevin who had his place by the other side of her head. "Really?"
"I was missed."
Colby smirks and hands a cup to her. "I see. Here you go."
"Nice." Pharya sits up, taking it from him.
Colby came around the front and had seat back into the couch, draping his arms over the back.
"What are we-oh you got to be kidding me, Pharya." He looks to her. Pharya innocently sips her drink. "What is this?"
"What?"
"Transformers marathon?"
"Mad I didn't tell you sooner?"
"Um, yeah." Colby snatches the remote from her lap. "Your starting over."
"I'm halfway in."
"That's what he said."
Pharya snorts, starting to laugh. "Don't make me laugh it hurts."
Colby restarts the movie. "The betrayal in this house hold."
"I'm sorry!" She tries to contain her laughter.
"If I would have watched GOT without you, all hell would have broke loose in this house."
"Well, duh."
Colby rolls his eyes turning it up.
A ring of the doorbell got their attention.
Pharya lowers her cup. "Who is that?"
"I invited somebody over."
"If it's Phil without April I will hurt you."
"I believe you." Colby sighs getting up. "No it isn't him."
"Who is it?" Pharya sips.
Colby scratched the back of his head. "Your mom."
Pharya pauses in mid drink, her eyes snap to look up at him. He could have sworn he just watched her go from Pharya to Ellie Brooks with the glare that took over her eyes. The woman really did live inside.
"Say that again?"
"Your mom."
Pharya eyes slit. "One more time."
"I invited your mom." Colby admits. "I know you don't want to hear it."
"Colby Lopez."
"Now I feel like I'm in trouble."
"You are!"
"Pharya I told you to tell her and stop keeping your health a secret. You didn't want to listen, that's your mother."
"And a tree is good paper. Don't see me cutting them down."
"Okay, be serious."
"I was dead serious."
Colby goes to the door. "Yell at me later."
"Colby you better be lying!" Pharya calls out. "I rather it be Phil."
The sound of the door opening and her mothers voice made her look to the skies.
Walking inside, she does a double take."Pharya Acker Brooks!"
"Somebody please kill me." Pharya looks to the celing."Please."
Christy marches over to her, greeted by the dogs. "You okay? How are you feeling?"
"I'm fine, mom." Pharya sits up. "I swear."
"Fine. You call this fine?" She sits down. "I had to hear from Colby about your situation. My own daughter acts like she can't pick up a damn phone and depend on her mother once in a while. You tell Phil every thing."
"Barley." Pharya eyes roll. "It wasn't that big of a deal."
Christy turns giving her a look that made Pharya look away. "You don't call this a big deal."
"No but you're going to make it into one like you always do."
"Of course she is." Shaleen walks in.
Pharya throws a hand up. "You brought her with you."
"That's your sister."
"Again I say, barley."
Shaleen smacks her legs. "Missed you too." She sits down.
Colby comes back in with their luggage. "I'm gonna put you guys things in the spare rooms."
"Bags?" Pharya wide eyes go back and forth between them.
"Colby, you don't have to do that. We can stay in a hotel." Shaleen looks back to him. "We don't want to impose on you."
"Your fine."
"No their not."
"Shut up, Pharya." Shaleen snaps.
"You shut up,"
"Children." Christy shakes her head. "But, Shaleen is right. Colby we can stay at a hotel."
"Nonsense." Colby tells her. "I got space, so you both are here while you stay."
"Unbelievable." Pharya mumbles.
Christy smacks her shoulder and looks back to Colby. "Thank you,"
"No problem. I'll give you guys some time." Colby whistles. "Come on you two." Both Kevin and Styles hop up and run to the back.
Pharya jaw drops. "Traitors." Colby chuckles. "We are not done here."
"Yes we are." Colby calls back over his shoulder.
Pharya sighs. "I don't know why he called both of you."
"Don't you dare be mad at him." Shaleen points. "That's a good man. Your the one who should have called us. What are we aliens to you?"
Pharya opens her mouth.
"Say it and I back hand your mouth." Christy says. Pharya pokes her tongue inside her cheek. "That's what I thought. What the hell is wrong with you?"
"Mom-"
"Mom. That's what I am." Christy nods. "So I should be the first one to know your going through these things. You and Phil, I swear." She throws up her hands. "You both develop this crap where you never want to talk about your problems and it causes even bigger problems."
Pharya points. "I agree with that." She sees her mother stern gaze and sighs. "I'm sorry."
"No your not."
"Shut up, Shaleen."
"Shaleen hush." Christy waves her off. "Though your sister is right. Your not sorry," Pharya eyes roll. "Why didn't you tell me?"
"I didn't tell a lot of people."
"I am not a lot of people, and you know that." Christy says. "Pharya had you said something to me. I could have eased a lot of the pain I know your feeling. Not physically because I'm not a doctor, but the mental pain." Pharya plays with the blanket, keeping her gaze down. "It's not easy being told that you might not be a mom, Pharya. I know that."
"How would you know?" Pharya asks.
"Because I was told that too," those words made Pharya snap her wide eyes over to her mother. Christy nods to Shaleen. "And so has your sister."
Pharya brows pull, looking to her sister. "You?"
Shaleen smiles. "Yeah," letting out a heavy sigh, she sits back. "one of the hardest things in my life. Now look at me, I got a whole family. Those same little ones that call you, aunt, Pharya. I was told I might not be able to have them." She shrugs. "Life found a way though, and I'm glad it did."
Pharya eyes travel back to her mother. "Is it something about the women in our family?"
"It's looking that way, but if your condition is anything like mine then it will be possible. Maybe with some surgery to help you, but nothing is set and stone." Christy grabs Pharya's hands. "I know that pain better than anyone. Had you would have told me, I would have been able to be there right with you through all of it. Colby did his best, I will say that, but a mother is different. Even your sister would have been there, but you got to stop thinking you don't need people sometimes, Pharya. Especially your family." Pharya uses the back of her free hand to wipe the tears starting to cloud her eyes. "Your to tough for your own damn good."
"We get it from you,"
Christy eyes go to her. "Shut up, Shaleen." Rolling her eyes, Shaleen waves her off. Christy takes her gaze back to her youngest with a smile. "I am here with you for a reason, Pharya. Okay? Let me do my job sometimes as the mom." Pharya nods, letting her tears fall. "Your going to be okay tomorrow..."
"H-How do you know I will?" Pharya looks between them. "She could tell me something different."
"Then we will deal with it as a family." Christy brushes her hair back, using her thumb to brush away Pharya's tears. "I didn't get my first child. I lost him before anything could be done but then, a few years later...I had Phil. Then I had Shaleen, and then you came along." She smiles at her. "My biggest headache." Pharya laughs between her tears. "Your baby Pharya for a reason."
"What's Shaleen?"
"Big mouth."
"Ouch." Shaleen hand covers her chest.
Pharya and Christy laugh.
"I'm sorry," Pharya says to her.
Christy nods. "Now I believe you," She pulls her into a side hug. "I will always have your back if you let me."
Shaleen smirks. "I got your front. Your blind sometimes."
Pharya uses her leg to kick her, Shaleen smacks her leg.
"Stop that." Christy tells them, she pulls back. "Do the three of you ever grow up?"
"No." Both of them say.
"Least your honest." Christy scoffs.
Pharya puts her feet on the floor as she sits up. "You'll go with me to my doctors appointment tomorrow too?"
"Why do you think I came here?" Christy brow raised. "The minute Colby told me, I called your sister and planned the trip to fly down here. He knew you wouldn't be able to run once your cramps hit."
Pharya jaw drops. "That little..."
Shaleen laughs. "Smart guy, smart guy." She nods. "I like him."
"So do I," Christy nods, looking back to Pharya with a smile. "You need to be happy he called us. I don't think I ever known somebody to care about you so much they go against your feelings. That's bold."
"Hell of bold." Shaleen agrees. "Only men who don't fear death go against Brooks women and live."
"Dad is still alive." Pharya says, both sisters look to their mother.
"I never got rid of him because he's your father." Christy hands went up in defense.
"Sounds about right,"
"Eh, could have took one for the team." Shaleen admits. Pharya jaw hit the floor, looking to her sister. Christy brow raised. "What? I love him, but you know, sometimes." Shaleen cuts a finger across her neck to Pharya's snicker.
"All three of my kids are violent and I will never wonder why," Christy sighs. "I was prepared for one of you to be in jail for life. I won't lie to you."
Shaleen looks to Pharya. "It would have been, Phil."
"Yes," Christy nods.
Pharya laughs at them.
Later, that day
Spending the day talking to her mom and sister had did her better than any medicine for a while. Even though apart of her was upset that Colby went against her wishes, she loved what he did. He knew she needed them and so did she but like her mother said, when it comes to her opening up and letting people know she needs help, she hides it.
When she came clean about over working herself a few months back, her mother slapped her upside the head twice. One for being that stupid and the second time for not telling her.
Family had become a distant thing to her but Colby made her realize that she did need them, and it was okay to call on them when she needed to. Even though her feelings were all over the place when it came to her situation, Shaleen and Christy being there had started to ease some of the nerves dancing around inside. They were the distraction she needed. If only for a couple of days, she would keep it.
Pharya sat on the couch texting Allen on her phone.
The sound of the door opening caught her ears.
Styles and Kevin run inside with their walking collars.
"Hey!" Pharya puts her phone down. "Look at you two back from your walk. Did you give your daddy a hard time?"
"Yes," Colby walks pass.
A howl from Styles made her laugh and pet him as he fell between her legs; on his back.
Picking up Kevin she messes with him.
"You guys are supposed to be his peace out there."
"They weren't." He throws his keys in the dish. "Where's your mom and sister?"
"Ran out to get some things." Pharya rubs Styles stomach, before hugging him. "I missed you too, now go on and play." She pulls back but he hangs on to her, making Colby laugh. "Sty-" Pharya laugh catches in her throat. "Come on, go play." He howls to her playful eye roll. "You are such a drama dog."
Styles howls, his head falls back to look at Colby.
"I'm out of this." His hands go up.
Another howl is sung.
"Oh my, God. Where did you get this drama from?"
Colby brow raises. "Your kidding right?"
"Hush."
He smirks, looking back down at Styles.
Pharya sighs. "St-" his howling cuts her short. "S-" Another howl to silence her. "Styles!"
Colby snickers and pulls him off. "Come on, big guy. Go on and play."
With a gruff he jumped down and ran off to one of the room.
"But you listen to him?!" Pharya holds up her hands. "I'm your mother!"
"Again I say, I got this parenting thing on lock." Colby plops down next to her, resting his feet on the coffee table. "Just saying."
"Can you be anymore full of yourself?"
"Yes." Colby nods, thinking about it. Pharya hits his side to Colby's chuckle. "How are you feeling?"
"For a while? Fine." Pharya pulls her hair to fall over her shoulder. "Where have you been for the rest of the day besides dog duty?"
"Just took them out for a while to give you guys some time." Colby shrugs. "I know you needed that."
Pharya smiles. "I did."
"So your not mad anymore?"
"Yes," Pharya looks back. "at myself." Colby's brows quirk up. "I should have called her. You were right."
Colby eyes widened. "Can you say that again on camera?"
"Colby!"
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry." He chuckles, Pharya giggles. "I knew I was a little right. It's just certain shoes I can't fill. Of course I can be there for you but not in the way I knew your mother could. I can tell you love her, Phar. Despite the b.s, your a family girl and I know that is sometimes what you need. Not just me."
Pharya laced his hand with hers. "I know I shouldn't have went against what you said, but it was for your own good. We're going to go in there tomorrow and get good news. Might be a little bad, but it will be good."
"It's not fair you always get to be the strong one." Pharya finds her smile.
"Nah, the girl that puts up with me is the strongest one."
Pharya lets go of his hand to hug him. Colby smiles, pulling her to lay against him. "Were going to be okay after tomorrow. Alright?" Nodding, Pharya lays against his shoulder. Kissing the top of her head, his hand brushes down her hair. "I love you,"
Pharya smiles. "I love you too,"
Laying with Colby, the two of them decided to finish the movie from earlier. Pharya laid on her side tucked into him and using Colby as body pillow.
"Is it bad I kind of root for the decepticons?"
Colby pauses the movie. "Yes. What the hell?"
"They have cool stuff!"
"Wow, Pharya. You are a heel at heart. I am very convinced of this."
The door opens as the round of barks echo.
"Were back!"
"Living room!" Pharya calls out.
Christy comes inside with bags. "Sorry it took so long," She throws the keys to Pharya. "I got what you needed."
"You sent them out?" Colby looks down.
"Yeah," Pharya eases up, wincing. "I was to bad to pick it up myself so I had them go."
"Now you know I would have done it." Colby sits up.
Pharya hand rests on his cheek. "Believe it or not. You did enough,"
He chuckles. "What did you even send them to get."
Shaleen comes inside with the carrier. "Make way,"
Colby brows pull. "What's that?"
Shaleen smiles sitting it on the table in front of him. Colby eyes go to all three women. "I'm confused."
"It's a gift." Pharya motions to it.
Colby head withdraws. "For who?"
"You!" Pharya laughs.
"What is it?"
"Open it up and see." Pharya excited gaze goes to it.
"It better not be a reptile in here."
"Stop it." Pharya holds back her laugh. "Your not funny," she points. "Open it."
Colby laughs. "I want to be sure. What else could it-"
A cats cry made him snap his wide eyes back to it. Colby withdraws his head and looks to Pharya.
"Open it." Pharya grins at his reaction.
"What-" Colby opens it up and looks inside. For a minute nothing came but soon a black cat started to ease his way out of the carrier. "A kitten?"
Pharya nods. "Yeah," She smiles down at the little kitten checking his new home and surroundings. "You got me my best friend. Then I remembered when you told me that the cat you had as a child died. He won't replace him but," Pharya looks to Colby. "he could be the second one you love. Your always trying to do things for me so I thought I do this for you."
Colby lets out a few laughs in disbelief. Showing his hand to the kitten, it got a few sniffs before he was in his hands and soon in his lap.
"I can't believe you remembered that story." Colby looks down at him. "I told you that when we first started dating." Pharya scratches the kittens head. "And you actually remembered..."
"Don't you remember everything about me?" Pharya looks up. "Only right."
"Now I see why you locked the dogs in the room." Colby chuckles. "Would have been a show in here."
"He just needs to get used to the house a little and we can have them meet slowly. I don't want him to be scared."
Colby pets him. "Little guy is tiny."
"What are you going to name him?" Christy asks.
"Good question," Colby looks him over. "What do you think, Phar?"
"Simba?"
"Stop while your ahead, Pharya." Shaleen holds up her hand. "This is why you were never allowed to name even goldfish."
"I have you know, I named, Styles."
"One name out of hundreds you got right." Pharya throws a pillow at her. "Violent as hell, mom!"
Christy eyes fell to slits. "You both are grown, you realize that right?"
Shaleen rolls her eyes. "There's the Pharya and Phil in you,"
"Ha!" Pharya points.
"Hush your mouth." Christy hushed her, she looks to Colby. "Why don't you pick the name?"
Colby looks the cat over. "Darrell?"
Pharya stops from throwing another pillow at her sister. "Darrell?"
"What, you don't like it?"
"Well I'm not the one who has to be called that," She giggles. "but I do think it's cute for him," her head lowers to the kittens face. "Darrell?" A meow mad her laugh. "I guess that's what it will be then."
Colby laughs. "Yeah, I like that for you."
"Black cat with a future attitude problem. Colby should have just slapped some black cat ears and tail on Pharya."
"Okay, cramps or not, that's it." Pharya rushes up and runs after her. Shaleen screams running in the room with Pharya right behind her. "I will put your ass on the porch to sleep!"
Christy head shakes slow. "I asked for all boys."
Colby laughs at her and looks down at Darrell who raises his head from Pharya fussing, he pats his head. "Yup. That's your mom," a meow made him nod. "I don't know what's wrong with her."
Christy snorts her laugh as the two of them laughed at the arguing between Pharya and Shaleen.
Next day,
Sitting in the office with Colby, Pharya played with her nails out of nerves.
"You sure you don't want me to get your mom in here?"
"No, I'm okay." Pharya sighs out. "Just nervous. Mostly because we asked Shaleen to watch our pets."
"She has her own kids."
"Doesn't mean I always trust her with mine."
Colby chuckles. "Stop being evil. Wasn't putting your sister in a choke hold last night enough? How did you even do that with cramps?"
"Being a woman is sometimes a powerful thing, Colby."
"You have indeed showed that Brooks," He nods, Pharya smiles when he holds her chin to look at him. "You got this."
The door opens getting their attention, Dr. Shai smiles and closes the door behind her.
"There she is. How are you feeling?"
"Before or after I took the pills?"
"Both."
"Great." Pharya scoots closer to Colby in the chair.
"I'm glad to hear it." Sitting at her table, she opens up her file. "So I got two forms of news for you. Good and bad."
"Eh, what the hell, give me the bad."
Dr. Shai chuckles. "Okay. So the bad part is that surgery will have you out for three to four weeks. Meaning no in ring work for the first three weeks and-"
"Wait, wait," Pharya sits up. "Your saying I need surgery?" The doctor nods. "So it's fixable?"
A smiling nod made Pharya sit back and look to Colby who showed her excitement for her.
"Now do you want the good news?"
"Um, yes,"
With a chuckle she hands them some papers. "The good news is that I believe after all we have done and looked for, and from my personal experience with doing this for twenty five years, your condition seems to be like most that I call moderate and not mild. Now there are different stages with these kind of things but I do not believe yours is really at that point. Which means if we can fix it now, it will do you some good. The surgery will help with all the pain and more that you have been feeling. Its called Laparoscopy. One day process, in the morning and out by the afternoon."
Pharya holds her wrist. "Will I be able to have kids?"
Dr. Shai takes a deep breath. "There is a great chance for that, Pharya. I know you were told by a different doctor some other words but me personally, I have seen women with worse conditions, and most of them have family's now. 71 percent of women who have this, it works well for them but there is that percent where it doesn't. We will just see when that time comes. Lets focus on getting you better and out of pain. That's what I want."
Pharya nods. "But professionally and in your honest opinion..."
"Listen to the words of your mother, it is very possible." Dr. Shai smiles. "I like her."
"Most don't, so she will be glad to hear this."
She laughs. "So what do you think?"
Pharya looks to Colby who motions the floor to her.
"I say lets do it. When can I get it done?"
"I can get you in Tuesday next week. How does that sound?"
Pharya thinks. "I guess I can leave RAW, my show next week is in Chicago."
"That's even better. If you want, I have a colleague out there who is amazing. I don't know if you heard of him, Dr. Chase?"
"Wait?" Pharya brows pull. "Martin Chase?"
"You know him?" She asks.
"He was my sisters surgeon actually," Pharya says. "And he is good friends with my mom. I was going to go to him but you were local and have seen it more than anyone."
Colby snorts but holds back his laugh.
"You don't count," Pharya points. His hands shoot up in defense to the doctors laugh. "But yes, I am comfortable with going to him."
"That works even better." Dr. Shai jots down notes. "I can let him know what we are doing and who you are. I'm sure he will be more than glad to get you in on Tuesday."
"I'll still have to do the show on Tuesday like I promised them for taking days this week." Colby tells Pharya. "But the minute it's over I can come back, should be there by Tuesday night."
"That's fine. I'll have my mom, probably Phil to, and Allen will be in town for Smackdown. So I will be well taken care of until you come back."
"So we are good for Tuesday?" Dr. Shai looks to them.
Pharya gives one last look to Colby before nodding. "Yeah, I'm ready."
"Good." She closes up her folder. "I will get you booked in. Send you everything you need to know about this surgery and it's risk as well. What you need to look out for after surgery and I will send this over to your WWE doctors so that they are aware of everything."
"Then that's it?"
"That is it."
"Thank you," Pharya finds it in her to smile. "Honestly."
"Of course, it's my job to take care of you and what you will one day have." Dr. Shai shakes her hand. "I'll book you an appointment with me after your surgery to do a check in. Okay?"
"Okay," Pharya stands up.
Colby shakes the doctor's hand. "Thanks so much."
"Of course. My office and Dr. Chases will contact you some time tomorrow."
"Alright," Pharya waves going out the door.
Walking in the waiting room.
Christy stops her conversation on the phone and hangs up-she walks to meet the couple halfway.
"Well?"
"Laparoscopy surgery,"
"Am I right or am I right?" Christy looks to Colby who lets out a laugh.
Pharya winces with a slight head shake. "You were right. I mean it's not a guarantee that I will but this will help spike up those chances."
"That's what matters."
"She's sending me to Dr. Chase since it will be better for me to have it in Chicago. Close to home and our show is there. The only thing is, Colby won't be able to take me Tuesday morning."
"I will be there to take you, don't worry about it. I'll make your brother drive."
"Mom, no." Pharya groans. "I don't want to see, Phil."
"Shush, you know he's coming. I already told him about this."
"Is that why my text messages are pinging off on my butt like a damn pager?"
"Probably,"
"Just great." Pharya eyes roll.
"Your welcome, now come on." Chirsty leaves.
"I never said th-I'm not thanking you!" Pharya throws up a hand.
Colby watches her leave. "You really are your mom. I totally see it." Pharya drags her glare over to him, raising a brow. Colby double takes, and rests a weary arm around her shoulder. "I'll buy you ice cream if you promise to stop with the murder glare you got going on."
"Fine."
Colby smirks. "See. It always works." Pharya shakes her head trying to hide her giggle. "Come on, lets get you home, grumpy."
"I'm crampy, not grumpy."
"Same thing, Phar."
Later...
Pharya laid in the bed with Styles at the foot and Kevin curled up next to him. What warmed her heart to see was the kitten bunded up with the two. They had tried an early meeting and both dogs took to him well. Now they were all inseparable.
After having a talk with Hunter about what her doctor and the WWE doctors agreed on. He would allow her the time she needed off for next week and then she would just be doing camera work for her time she had to heal. All she could do is hope that her body would be ready for the Royal Rumble PPV and the day before it. This was supposed to be her moment and apart of her hated how it was probably going to be taken away. Hunter agreed to not change anything yet but if she wasn't ready by Friday 27th of January, they would have to switch to plan B, something she didn't want.
Getting up, Pharya walks out of the room and into the living room to see Colby on the phone.
"Yeah, she's going to be alright." He nods his head to her. "My mom said she's coming to see you the minute we come home next week, and will bring watermelon for some reason?"
"I love her!" Pharya calls out going in the kitchen.
Colby chuckles. "Did you hear her? Well I'm going to call you later this week. Me and Pharya got to finish packing for our flight in the morning. I left the spare key you needed on the counter when you get here," Pharya comes back in with a water. "Alright. Love you too," he hangs up the phone. "My mom and dad are coming over with them while were gone. Did your mother and sister make their flight today?"
"On their way back home as we speak." Pharya holds her stomach when pain hit her. "Ouch."
"You okay?" Colby puts his phone down and sits up, he puts a hand on her stomach.
"I'm fine." Pharya laughs under her breath. "Just the normal pain."
"Well you'll be out of that pain soon," Colby looks up at her, he pulls her forward with a slight tug of her pajama pants. "Whinne the Pooh, really?"
"They are adorable and you know it, Lopez"
"They are something, Phar." Colby nods. "Do you feel better now, about all of this?"
"Not fully." Pharya brows pull. "I'm happy to know it could happen, but what if it doesn't?"
"We deal with it." Colby pulls her down so that she straddled his lap. "Like we do with everything else. We'll cross that bridge when we get to it. Like she said, lets worry about you first. I'm still going to be here."
"I know," Pharya plays with his hair, and runs her fingers through. She smiles. "You are such a tease, you know that."
"How?" Colby laughs.
"I don't know, pulling me on your lap while you got on nothing but sweat pants with your hair out, and knowing I can't do anything. You did this on purpose."
"Well now you know how I felt last week at RAW."
"I knew it!"
Colby moves her hand. "Cut it out." Pharya giggles and hugs him, burying her face at the crook of his neck. "Your a baby you know that?"
"Yup,"
"As long as you know." Colby rubs her back.
After falling asleep on him, Colby had put Pharya in the room.
Pulling the blanket over top of her, he looked back at her phone that went off next to her.
Seeing she had several calls from the same private number caught his attention. Colby brows knotted together but he puts her phone back down when Pharya moved to hold onto him and use his chest as a pillow.
Resting a hand on the back of her head, his eyes trailed down to the phone.
The more he thought about it the more it didn't sit right with him. This wouldn't be the first time that he has seen numbers trying to call her but Pharya either ignored it or blocked the number.
His brain wracked, wondering who...
Who was calling her from a private number?
As much as he wanted to ask, her being sick right now wasn't the best time, but that didn't mean he wouldn't ask later...
HEY EVERYONE!
Last RAW of this book is coming next Friday and then the final chapter. I wonder what's going to happen? Colby knows somebody is calling her but he doesn't know the who yet, and I don't think he will be happy about it. I guess we will have to see.
Three chapters from the end of book one. I thought I wanted to do more but I can get what I need done for then. Who is READY FOR 2017? I am making a cover for BOOK 2 tonight. Book 2 is really going to go deep into the past about Ross and Pharya's relationship. Maybe her best friends have a point, did she really heal from it? We shall see!
Two part RAW and one last off screen chapter to end book one.
A chapter you are going to want to read! ( That's all I will say )
