When Dick Tracy and his friends walked into Breathless' speakeasy they hired a local to guard their vehicle. After being paid this local quickly walked away. Whether he sensed any specific danger, or whether he just didn't want to be around heroes for too long, they didn't know. Either way, it seemed like they should probably just leave as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, their vehicle wouldn't start, it seemed that their "helper" had betrayed them. Within 30 seconds they were surrounded by many of Dick Tracy's old enemies, all carrying guns. Big By Caprice, Pruneface, Flattop, Mumbles, Lips ,anheim, and Breathless Mahoney blending in with them all.

Tracy: Kind of suprised you're all working together. Most of you killed each other.
Big Boy: That's the thing about Hell, a lot of former enemies stuck together. We have plenty of time to mend old fences.
Tracy: So Breathless, I guess you were lying about those five minutes.
Breathless: Yeah. I was weak once, when I couldn't pull the trigger on you. Now, it will be a pleasure to kill you.
Big Boy: You'll probably wind up in the Lake of fire, no doubt you'll resist becoming evil. But everyone breaks eventually.
Tracy: And then what?
Breathless: Then you can join me, and we can establish some form of order, and have real power.
Tracy: I take it you all aren't planning to work together longterm.
Big Boy: No, this is just a temporary truce, the enemy of my enemy is my friend, sometimes. So all four of you are, wait a minute. You said there were five including Tracy.
Breathless: There were.
Big Boy: So who's missing?
Breathless: The Shadow.

It seemed that Lamont Cranston had sensed the coming danger, and used his ability to cloud everyone's minds so that they could not see him. He used this invisibility to attack the gangsters. They responded with the same brute force that they usually used, hitting each other more than they hit the heroes. Once this happenned, their old feuds quickly became reignited. Breathless shot and killed Big Boy. While the heroes used this opportunity to escape, Breathless tried to shoot Dick Tracy. She was however shot and killed by Margo Lane. The heroes were able to escape unharmed.
