Team Work chapter 253

October 2nd, 2020

Stephanie likes fall. She likes the changing leaves, she likes Survivor Series season. It's all snowballing up to the Royal Rumble from here, and it's a fun time in the company, even with COVID still hindering so much. She sighs and stares at the names before her, lips twitching up into a faint smile as she begins clicking and typing, sorting the list into matches for the evening ahead.

Starting the night off, Sami Zayn defeats Eric Young. Zachary Wentz takes advantage of all of Randy Orton's mindgames to sneak a win in on Drew McIntyre, and Orange Cassidy beats R-Truth. In six woman competition, Dana Brooke, Rosemary and Tenille Dashwood defeats Deonna Purrazzo, Taya Valkyrie and Mandy Rose.

Josh Alexander partners with Mox to defeat Otis and Johnny Gargano. Cash Wheeler walks out victorious in a fatal four way match against Kushida, Luke Gallows and Tracey Williams. Mustafa Ali beats Sheamus. Britt Baker gets a win over Io Shirai.

Chris Jericho teams with Brian Myers against Trey Miguel and Keith Lee, the two of them gelling well enough to walk out the victors. Finn Balor defeats Darby Allin, and Shotzi Blackheart wins against Asuka. The team of Apollo Crews and Willie Mack is successful over Fallah Bahh and Dezmond Xavier. Adam Cole and Rhino partner up to try to claim a win over PJ Black and Murphy, ultimately failing as their speed and general styles mesh well together and guide them to success.

Gran Metalik gets the win over Lince Durado and Dax Harwood, the two Lucha House Partner Members hugging it out afterwards to show no hard feelings. Jey Uso beats Ethan Page, and Karl Anderson defeats Ricochet. Jordynne Grace is successful in triple threat action against Candice LeRae and Kayden Carter. Damien Priest wins against Riddle.

Santos Escobar makes his way to the ring for the main event, all confident swagger, cruiserweight belt on his shoulder, a grin flitting across his face, Mendoza and Wilde flanking him as always. His smirk settles into a sneer as Heath walks out, his brows furrowed in concentration as he looks up at the man who he's never really even met, much less faced in the middle of the ring like this. Escobar jumps straight into offense, while Heath tries to slow things down, feel him out a little more, figure out what his strengths and weaknesses are, but Santos is too determined, too confident, and Heath finds himself flat on his back, getting pinned, before he can even blink. He kicks out early, but the message is received and he quickly gives up on his original strategy, going right for his finisher instead, grabbing Santos and trying to plant him into the ring with The Sweetness.

But Escobar gets the upperhand on that too, sweeps Heath's feet out from under him, leaving him dazed on the mat as he goes to the top rope, which isn't too common for him, but he still manages to make look natural as he pauses just long enough to see that Heath hasn't moved significantly, then dives, driving his weight down upon Heath's chest, winding him. He immediately moves, pinning Heath down and watching the ref out of the corner of his eye as he counts out the three, the bell ringing to acknowledge Escobar's win. Escobar's smug expression only deepens as Mendoza and Wilde join him in the ring, lifting his arms in yet another victory.
