Team Work chapter 255

October 16th, 2020

Stephanie stares at the names before her, all of the activity that's gone on the last week. There's a lot, a lot of names, a lot of pre-PPV activities going on. It makes her feel rejuvenated and she decides to make things as intensive and challenging for the competitors as she can when she begins to sort out what matches she wants booked for the evening, her eyes twinkling.

To start the night off, Mandy Rose defeats Toni Storm after she catches her in a rare fumble on the top rope and locks her into the Code of Silence, really digging in on it until Toni has to tap or risk permanent damage. Lana gets another win over a visibly frustrated Dana Brook, and Candice LeRae beats Taya Valkyrie.

Ten man action moves fast, so many tags in and out that it's equally confusing to the people in the ring as it is to the people watching at home. Xavier Woods, Ariya Daivari, Jake Atlas, Heath, and Cash Wheeler sounds like a team that logically shouldn't work together, but they hold together surprisingly well. On the other hand, AJ Styles, Isaiah Swerve Scott, Kofi Kingston, Johnny Gargano and Miro just barely manage to fit in any sort of description of a proper tag team, AJ and Gargano constantly arguing over who should be considered the leader, while Kofi and Swerve continued just trying to wrestle the match, leaving Miro to watch on with a pissed look on his face, rolling his eyes every time AJ or Gargano get a little too loud with their pointless argument next to him. Due to the vast differences in the team, it's not too much of a surprise when Jake Atlas slips in, gets ahold of Gargano and twists him into a pretzel, leaving him very little traction to actually kick out.

It's a fast, decisive victory, and the others all have to laugh as AJ and Gargano then shift into arguing about whose fault this loss truly was. Their arguments only end when Miro pushes between them and snaps for them to just blame Kofi then, which both men eagerly connect to to take the blame off of themselves for once.

Hernandez and Roman Reigns partner together, only communicating rarely and still managing to defeat Josh Woods and Cousin Jake. Alisha Edwards beats Hikura Shida. Angel Garza wins a twelve man battle royal.

Kylie Rae succeeds against Rosemary, and Roderick Strong defeats Damien Priest.

In the main event, Kevin Owens faces off with Dax Harwood. It starts off simple and slow, the two men exchanging a sequence of moves. It's been awhile since they've been in the ring together and Kevin wants to refresh his memory on the other man, his style, the way his body moves. Dax tries to shift his body weight, do something to Kevin, but Kevin is ready for it, waiting patiently, and gets his arms under Dax, rattling him greatly when he slams him back down in a sit out powerbomb. It only gets him a two, however, but Dax is still staggered when he stands, and Kevin sees his opportunity and takes it, landing the stunner and leaving Dax limp on the mat. The pin from there is little more than a formality, but it's still kind of nice to hear his theme music, have his arm raised in victory, all of the nice, little moments that Kevin sometimes finds himself taking for granted. He stands and looks out to the cameras, hoping someone is watching right now, enjoying his success as he lifts his arms and just breathes in the increasingly, unburdened win.

He smiles.
