The atmosphere of the meal is not as warm as expected. Everyone is lifeless, despite the fact that they were eating barbecue. Everyone appears to have something bothering them.

Lin Ye was still contemplating what the Messiah had just said to him. Lappland became depressed as a result of her defeat, and she has yet to recover. Pramanix was still contemplating what Lin Ye had said to Messiah in the room. She was terrified that her god would follow Lin Ye and abandon Karlan. Although this is a small chance, and Messiah only had three days to learn about Lin Ye. This is completely unprecedented in Karlan's history. So Pramanix had to assume that Messiah leaving with Lin Ye was not impossible. She had to be cautious of this. As a saintess, she was well aware of Karlan's devotion to Messiah. The reason for the others' silence is also very simple.

Matterhorn bowed down, begging for forgiveness.

Finally, the barbecue dinner ended with a joke. Messiah was unconcerned about Matterhorn's "fault" after the meal.

Lin Ye was well aware that she had already seen through all of the other people's ruses. She's just pretending she doesn't know.

She didn't say anything but played along with the act, giving Lin Ye the impression that her vague image before was just him imagining things.

Lin Ye lay in his bed that night, staring at Maple beside him.

Deep in thought, he mutters, "Does God want a home as well?"

Originally, according to his plan, he should be touching Mephisto's gloves by now so that he can continue to "work" in his dream. He didn't, however, feel compelled to do so tonight.

So he reaches out, grabs Maple, and places it on the bed. Finally, he wraps his arms around Maple and falls asleep.

He had no idea how long he had been sleeping. He notices that his hands are a little itchy.

He slowly opens his eyes and notices a figure licking his palm with hairy ears on his hand.

When he fully opened his eyes, the hairy little fella turned his head to him

Lin Ye notices two golden and azure orbs staring back at him.

It's a kitten.

Lin Ye has the impression that the kitten is very familiar. He can't recall where he saw it before.

After he sits up. The kitten rushes off his bed and walks outside the house with graceful steps. Lin Ye immediately got up, takes his coat with him and follows the kitten outside. The kitten turns back and looks at him seemingly waiting for him to catch up.

The kitten stopped in the yard under the maple tree. It sits under it and Lin Ye sits beside it.

The moonlight comes down and paints the shadows of a person and a cat on the ground.

"Meow~." the kitten meows at him.

Lin Ye reaches out his hand and touches its head.

It made a comfortable "purring" sound when he touches it. It rubs its head against his hand. It seems to enjoy his touch very much.

"Hey, little fella. What are you doing out in the night? Aren't you cold?" the tea-cloured kitten meows, seemingly answering him. He chuckles at its act.

Finally, it climbs onto Lin Ye's lap after being satisfied by his pats. It drowsily fell asleep.

It seems to be comfortable on it but he is worried that it will be cold. So, he gently takes off his coat, he doesn't want to disturb it and covers the kitten with it.

Its purrs when he did this act.

"Are you warm?"

"Meow~"

"Glad that you are." Lin Ye chuckled at the cat reply.

He does not know why. Lin Ye is very sure that he has never taken care of this kitten before. It seems that none of the cats he has ever raised has such a special pupil colour.

But this kitten has an unusual preference for him, and he has the same preference for this kitten. He didn't even feel confused about this kind of favour that didn't know where it came from.

So he closed his eyes under the maple tree with a kitten on his lap accompanied by the light of the moon.

"Hey, hey, what are you doing. Why did you suddenly sleep in the yard?"

Lin Ye opens his eyes in a daze. He finds himself he is sleeping in the yard alone. His body is covered with maple leaves. The kitten is gone. His coat is wrapped around him like a blanket.

Lin Ye feels a little dizzy in his head." What happened last night?"

Matterhorn grabs Lin Ye and lifts him up from the snow and throws him a hot towel.

"Going back?"

"Yes? You still don't want to go back?"

"No. What about Messiah...God?"

"Mistress sent her back last night."

"Why? Her house is wrecked."

Matterhorn glances at him, and says with some disdain: "Who do you think she is? She is the god of Karlan. You think just because her house collapsed means she doesn't have a place to live? You look down on God too much,"

Lin Ye sighs helplessly at this religious idiot but he smiles, nonetheless.

From afar, under a maple tree, Messiah watches the scene with a bittersweet expression.

Then, in a soft tone, she says.

"Thank you."
