Chapter 261: Camping Fun time.
(Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Camping Grounds.)
May 18 is here, Tuesday, and the sun has shown onto the camping grounds. Now the snow-haired boy, Lincoln Loud awakens from his slumber and he gets up and looks around the place. 'Right, we're at the camping trip. This is gonna be some getting used to.'
He then sees that his roommate is already awake, and putting on his light brown jacket, Jack Cyber, and the cybernetic man looks to the boy. "Morning, kid. Rise and shine, it's time to see what stuff you can do around here, and also I can smell food coming from outside. See you out there."
Jack Cyber makes his way out of the cabin, and this leaving Lincoln to think about what to do. 'Well, I am planning on going sand boarding. I wonder if anyone else wants to be part of that.' Lincoln then looks to his phone and he smiles. 'Maybe mom is awake now.' He grabs the phone and he sends her a text message.
Lincoln. Good morning mom.
Luna. Good morning, kiddo. Did ya sleep well last night, you didn't messaged me.'
Lincoln. Sorry mom, was too excited when we were all having a fun time singing and roasting marshmallows. I guess time slipped by and after so many smores, I got sleepy, and needed to rest.
Luna. It's all good kiddo, I understand and I am happy that you're having fun. Did anything bad go wrong at the camp? Anything I should be concerned about, Linc?
Lincoln. Nothing wrong mom. Everything seemed A-Okay, except for when Rusty and Lance got attacked by a Raccoon, but it's been dealt with and all thanks to Jack Cyber, he did an awesome job in tracking down any other critters hiding in the camp and helped move the bee hive elsewhere near the woods.
Luna. At least the guy is doing a good job. But, I need to tell you that he's not the only thing there. There might be some other stuff you might run into, and though they might be scary looking, don't be scared. They're from the other world and were tasked to watch over everyone as well.
Lincoln. It's okay mom, I understand why you would do this and I appreciate it all mom. Thank you.
Luna. You're welcome, kiddo. I do this because I love you, and I don't wanna lose you. I should let you go on ahead and get ready for the day, I need to go and check on the school and stuff, and also my year book.
Lincoln. Okay mom. Talk to you soon, I love you mom.
Luna. I love you too, Linky. Always and always, my wayward son.
Lincoln chuckles at the text and then he puts his phone onto the table, he then gets out of bed and grabs some clothes and his towel. "Well, time to see what this day has for me and the others."
(Moments Later.)
Lincoln comes out of the cabin and he sees everyone else is getting some breakfast from Sheryl and Jack Cyber, and so he goes over and grabs some food too. 'Huh, and for a minute there I thought… Never mind.'
Lincoln was right about what he guessed, he saw Clyde and Chloe helping make the food for everyone, and thank goodness Sheryl brought some food they can use for some decent breakfast, and Jack Cyber and Sheryl is helping serve this all to everyone in camp.
Lincoln is then handed a plate of bacon, eggs, a breakfast muffin and sausage and some orange juice. He then goes over and sits next to Jordan, and she scooches closer to him. "So, how was your morning, Linc?"
Lincoln nods. "Sure was a good morning, and I also texted mom, and she was asking if everything was doing okay here. She seemed concerned, and I don't blame her."
Jordan swallows her food. "She does that because she loves you, and after what you both went through, she doesn't wanna lose her son. She cares about you a lot, and though she didn't tell me to task me with this, I am gonna do my part and also watch over you. It hurt when you couldn't remember who I was."
Lincoln recalls that one, and deep down it hurt him to. He didn't wanna forget the relationship he had with Jordan, and it was something he wants to always cherish and see through as their future keeps going.
"Thanks Jordan, but I don't want you to keep watching over me all the time. You should go and have some fun too."
Jordan nods. "Yeah, I know and that fun is with Stella and we're gonna go and ride it like pros with Sheryl. Never knew she could ride it on a quad bike." That was something Lincoln did not see coming, and they didn't know Flat Tire overheard this and is now choking on his bacon.
This causes Dennis to go over and help him.
Lincoln then recalls something. "Mom told me that Jack Cyber over there is not the only person who was tasked to watch over me. I think there is something here in the camp that's gonna be watching over everyone. I don't know what they are, but she told me not to be scared of them."
"She told me that they are from another world, and I think the guy who is in charge of this group isn't around to do the part of watching over me because he's busy, and so that's why Jack Cyber is here instead."
Hearing that didn't sound comforting towards Jordan. "Well, as long as they're not dangerous, then everything will be fun." Then she recalls. ""You don't think this group is the alien species from outside of town, do you?"
Lincoln thinks about this and then he and some students see some movement in the ground and something slowly peeks out with yellow eyes and then goes back into the dirt, and they saw its spikey carapace.
"Yup, I think it is" replied Lincoln. "This is gonna be very… And Zach passed out."
(Hours later.)
Lincoln is now in his swimming trunks and he stands atop the sandy hill by the lake of the camp, he has his board with him and he takes a deep breath of the whole lakeshore.
He then looks around the camping grounds and he sees the others enjoying their own fun. Clyde and Richie are making some cherry jam, and Dennis, Chad, Patrick and Artie try some of it, and then join them. Chloe and Emma are taking some pics of birds.
Rusty and Lance are both by the sandy shores of the lake and relaxing, but then some snapping turtles surface and come after them and the duo make a run for it. Liam and Trent are both learning how to sail, and Jack Cyber is helping them and he's knocked out of the boat by accident.
Christina, Joy, Kat and Mollie are swimming in the lake and taking some pics, while Flat Tire is on his bike and trying some new moves as he leaps over a log, and leaps over Morpheus, Haiku and Persephone.
Jordan and Stella are riding with Sheryl on her quad bike and are having one heck of a blast. Zach and Hassan are both enhancing the drone he brought with him, so that they can get ready for the meteor shower tomorrow night.
Everything seems quite peaceful. Lincoln then uses his sand board and he slides down the sandy slope and he manages to land safely as it slows down. "Yes, nailed it." But then Lincoln sees something sticking out of the ground. "What the heck is this?"
Lincoln pulls it out of the sand and sees the object. "Did anyone lose this thermos? Maybe I can show this to the others and see what they know."
Lincoln then walks back to the top of the sandy slope, but then Clyde goes to him. "Hey, Clyde. Done with some cherry jam?" asked Lincoln.
"Just taking a small break, also we made so much for everyone to bring home" said Clyde. "And it's quite delicious too." Clyde then notices the thermos. "Where did that came from?"
Lincoln hands it to Clyde. "I saw it over by the sand and I don't know who owns this. It also looks super old, you think you can figure out something about it?"
Clyde looks to the thermos. "Judging by the markings, scratches and this date at the bottom, this thing was from somewhere in the 80's, and whoever lost it might've lost it for a good…" Then he opens it and a note falls down. "What the heck?"
Lincoln and Clyde then read the note and what it says.
"Hello Campers of the camping grounds, if you are reading this, then this is Lyle K. Parker and I am a veteran camper of this place since 1984 and I have left behind some buried treasure somewhere in the camp. If you wish to seek it out, then follow the instructions and wait for when the first howl of the day begins."
"Once the howl is heard, then follow the rest of the instructions to the next note at the back of this note, and I hope you can find it and prove that you are worthy of the lost Treasure of the camping grounds from the best of us at the 80's, and I hope they made flying cars in your time too."
Lincoln and Clyde are surprised, but the rest of the notes from this person was kinda confusing. "Whoa! This is so…. Wait, first howl of the day?" Lincoln and Clyde think about what it means.
Clyde then recalls something. "The resident lone wolf! I looked up on this camp, and it turns out that there's this wolf who's been living alone out in the wilds and that every Thursday, he howls and nobody knows why, and some day he's the descendant of the previous lone wolf of the camping grounds."
Lincoln smiles. "Well, might as well see this through. But I don't know if we should tell the others. So, wanna help me find a treasure on Thursday and see what it's all about?"
Clyde fist bumps with Lincoln. "Oh heck yeah, we're back in action. But, let's not make things bad for the both of us."
The both high five and Clyde keeps the note safe. They don't know that two girls overheard this. "So, you wanna follow them on Thursday and see what this treasure is all about?" asked Stella.
"Oh heck yeah" replied Jordan. "Also, because I still have to keep an eye on Linc, I don't want him getting hurt out there." The two girls then put their helmets back on and they go back to Sheryl for another round on her quad bike.
But then Jack Cyber surfaces as a submarine and then transforms back, he then lays on the sand and takes a moment to catch his breath. "I am not getting paid enough to do this…" Then he gets a phone call from someone. "What?"
Jack Cyber then sits up. "What do you guys mean you're all at Gotham City? Wait what? What the heck is going on there?" He is missing out on whatever it is their doing at the other world.
Day 2 to the 6 day stay at Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore Camping Grounds.
