Chapter 265

.

It started small. People called in sick to work or school, they didn't realize how many others were also staying home this day. Those who went to work this day noticed fewer coworkers, wondered if there was rumor, someone had said something to offend others. But the first day nobody was too worried. The second day these people didn't show up or even call in sick, this became a bit more frightening, some began calling these employees, no answer. Some brought chicken soup or otherwise checked up on their loved ones. More often than not the results were bad, their loved one had died. Noone was even sure what had happenned, their loved one was feeling fine on day one, then sick day two, and dead on day three. Noone was sure what was going on, but this plague did seem to be spreading, and the dead were continuing to increase in numbers. President Odonnell spoke with other world leaders, including the Ambassdor and the government of Antarctica.

.

Ambassador: We don't know what this is but it's happenning here too.

Odonnell: It's happnning all over the world. Congress has agreed to take certain precautions. We're encouraging people not to leave their houses unless absolutely neccessary. Only essential businesses like hospitals and grocery stores will remain open.

Ambassador: We're taking similar steps, as are those who broke away from our government. Going to be hell on the economy though.

Odonnell: Believe me I know. Millions suddenly unemployed, children will fall behind without in person classes. Online classes can only do so much.

Ambassador: Our doctors are analyzing the dead bodies, so far we can't isolate anything.

Odonnell: The most evil scientists of all time probably developed this in Hell, a way to thin out our ranks before the final battle.

Ambassador: Maybe, except, a lot of our superheroes seem immune to this plague. Why create a virus to kill your enemies, only for it to have no effect on their strongest warriors?

Odonnell: Maybe it didn't work out the way they planned. Until we do more research, we can't be certain.
